Is there a way to turn off the vibration, which is right after turning on the device?

xmmmm!!!!
In that early state of booting, I don't think any of registry entries or other user preferences are loaded, so you can edit them to do such a thing. I think it's a standard procedure of the device to selftest.
It seems to be cooked into the rom or the radio.
This is a personal opinion.
Let the cook experts to write their own.
I don't think this it possible,
And this is probably made for testing the vibrator.. So HTC can check if it's working without starting up the whole phone.
try Advanced config. You can disable the animation/short movie at start-up, but about vibration ... I don't know. You can try

go to the kitchen and select Theft protection, then set your name and input in your desired number you want the warning SMS to be sent to...
Easy way to check if theft protection really works. Hard Reset your device. After a few minutes, you will get an sms sent to the number you selected when making the rom. You will get another sms when you change the user information. It is quite cool and works well.

If there are no settings under the key, or no key, then the software hasn't been included in your ROM correctly, or at all, try making your ROM again.
..Chuck..
I have never seen "theft protection " working for me!
I cooked couple ROMs, with enabled "theft protection" and my name and phone#.
But after flashing to my XDA, nothing happend! no owner infomation in my XDA
how to enable iiwpo
i flashed with a rom from jeffs kitchen on saturday last, and found that the iiwpo file, that should be placed in the start up folder was placed in windows instead. Just move it to start up, and reset. Also, check ur registry settings as mentioned further down in this thread, and use the international no. code for ur notification no. ......it works fine on my xda......good work guys!

Sorry I created my Own Rom, anyway check if the ROM you cook have the two(2) files one in the startup "IIWPO_Startup" and the other one is in the /windows directory "IIWPO_Main" and also check the registry setting for the "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\XDA-Developers\IIPO" for the settings.. if not i think there is a problem on jeff's kitchen.
There are some CAB. files for your Herald. They work on other devices and on Herald also!!! You should know what they are for when seeing their names!
The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: After installing this, you can switch your Herald into Vibration Mode by Comm.button (press an hold in 3 seconds)
Dateandtime.cab: Date and time will be displayed both on the taskbar but depend on you, you want them to be shown all the time or only on Today screen.(settings=> system=> clock & alarm=> more...)
WM VI Batti: Your battery life is displayed on the top of taskbar. Very nice!
HTC_X-Button: Is this the same function as whats included in the HTC roms. Same but more functions! This is new version!
Soft Key Applet: this allow to change the softkeys.
Have fun!
Nice dial skin!
This is a very nice dial skin. Please try and enjoy!
Another Cab files for Herald!
Dont ask, just try!
HTC Audio Manager
Have fun with it!
thanks for this, i dont know what some of the things in the first one do, i have the tmobile wing
but i got some htc audio booster and the dialpad and the audio manager
with the 10 button com thing, is the color going to be pink or does it match with the theme?
edit: nvm, the audio boost matched the theme so I guess that answers my question, thanks for the post!

Battery Status & PsShutXP
They might be useful!
PPCPimbackup & nSuspend
Two more!
- nSuspend: set time to switch off your device.
- PPCPimBackup: Back up your data, mail, contacts (but no system data!)
Thanks...

First and formost thanks for posting all these great files. I hope this thread continues to grow. I really like the audio manager cab; it is much improved over the audio manager that came with my herald. However I have a few questions on the files included by the OP.
The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: What exactly does it fix? My function seems to work perfectly.
Dateandtime.cab: I am assuming this is the date and time on the task bar all the time?
WM VI Batti: I have no idea what this is for
HTC_X-Button: Is this the same function as whats included in the HTC roms?
Soft Key Applet: I assume this allows one to change the softkeys.
Could someone please elaborate on these cabs?
Phone Pad t9 input
Even though we have a very nice keyboard it's not always practical. For quick texts this works great.

I tried the Audio Booster file on my Wizard and it changed the skin on HTC Audio Manager. It also wouldn't allow me to check the box to activate the equalizer, so there was no sound change. Can someone check to see if there are extra settings needed to make this work?

After installing this, at first you tip on the small frame 'Equalizer' than you choose the type of equalizer (classic, normal, bass Booter...) on the under frame and than the frme on the right. it allows you to change and activate the equalizer!

Seems to work fine on mine. As to your earlier post answering my questions about the cab files. My 4350 has always went into vibrate mode when pressing the comm button. Perhaps earlier roms didn't.

Sorry but it still doesn't work. The box next to the equalizer cannot be checked and furthermore, when the settings are changed on the equalizer, the sound does not change. My gut feeling is that some registry settings are missing, but I don't have a Herald, so I have no idea if this is device specific or not.

Yes, but the trick is NOT to reset the device after modifying the registry. That's quite unexpected from my point of view. That part is mentioned in the thread I pointed to.
Everybody try Axii_Wi_Fifix.cab. Really 100% works.

thanks everyone for all your help
BTW, another solution for some of you may be to use a different ROM. I'm using Topaz Essentials 1.6 ROM (TESS1.6) from chef Aman, and this ROM doesn't have the wifi turning off problem.

It only works (worked for me) if you do the followings:
make the changes in reg:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\BCMSDDHD1\Parms]
"HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\TNETW12511\Parms]
"HTCKeepWifiOnWhenUnattended"=dword:00000001
as mentioned here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=524490
But if you reset your device you will have to re do it again
So, we really need a little cap with on/off
Hello everyone,
I just got my Hd2 few days ago and there is olny two things pissing me off with that phone.
1st is the wifi, that is disconnecting shortly after the screen goes black(battery saving i suppose). I listen to the internet radio over wifi and it stops after screen goes black. Is there any way to keep it on all the time?????
Second thing is the divx support. I have a divx 0.93 program on it bot i doesnt have all the codecs in it. What is the best divx player out there?
Many thanks in advance folks
wifi during standby can be enabled with BSB Tweaks. its a modding tool with many features.
for playing vids i would say best is CorePlayer....
DN41
thanks for replying i found many interesting options in bsb, includimg one responsible to keep wifi on in standby. i switch it on, phone asks for reboot, turns on ans that option is switched off again. Same story with startup animation, it never switches it off. ??????? is there reason why that may not work?
Its because that registry entry reverts to default whenever you reset the device.
With a reg editor go to HKLM - comm - bcmsddhd1 - parms
In that folder there should be an entry called htckeepwifionwhenunattended
change the value to 1 and your sorted.
Hope that helps.
Or use this CAB - this is the same thing like conantroutman advice you, but packed to installer.

Thanks franq thats very handy, does the cab need to be used after a reset or does it keep the setting permanently?
Forget about that weird cab, god knows what it does.
BSBTweaks wifi during standby option indeed doesn't work.
Better to use WifiNoStandby, install once, and that's it. No need to do anything again.
For divx; CorePlayer is the best option out there.
Dude hello!... This cab IT IS THE SAME like WiFiNoStandby. You think what a profit for me or anybody is posting suspicious stuff? Wake up dude and start think more like you talkin a bull ****s.

Plz. Tricks and mods for a longer lasting battery charge.
There is a few power managment options in "AdvacedConfigTool"(search forum for it) , but I haven't tested it yet.
There are many threads on this topic already........
But generally speaking use advanced configurations tools, diamond tweak and/or SK Tools to change your settings.....
thanks to you for reply
And here some extra reading.........http://winmo.techparaiso.com/3-batt...your-windows-phone-network-backlight-general/
Today I've activated power options from "diamond tweak" - they are same as these in AdvancedConfigTool . Now I'm testing and will tell you in few days if there is an advantage ....

Look under "power management".......
Okay.... the question was a bit stupid ;-)....
But, which options are to be recommended without that the system is affected...to become slow or something like that?

Well there is no such thing as stupid just "less" experienced and "senior".......and what for you is too slow is good enough for somebody else....
Go to advanced conf tools section performance and choose the advised options per selection......you hardly can go wrong there.
But remember that low energy means less performance and the other way round....
Okay, thx.... i will try it

Hey, just a minor info. guess u might already knew but try to set ur phone to "ring" only and change to "vibrate" when u are outside or in a big crowd. It shows a big diff. to my mega as it start the second day with battery still 100% when i changed to ring only. Just try to get loud ringtone. Vibrate just when u are in a club or sumthing.
