I must've flashed my phone about 20 times.
However, the past five flashes - IE still does not work while all other apps are just fine (Hotmail from Outlook, Google Maps, AIM, etc., etc.) and I know internet works just fine. I am getting "H" and it's blazing fast.
Even flashing with the original HTC 6.1, I still cannot get Explorer to work. I have wiped out the cache many times but that does not work.
How do I know if it's really clean?

No, it's not proxy.. IE just crashes. Whenever I type in the URL, it begins, then freezes and I have to reboot the phone.

I like IE's bookmarks.. very convenient. I'd have to re-type all over again in Opera!

Has anyone figured out how to solve the issue with the Gmail mobile Java app and the "Your phone doesn’t have the appropriate certificate to communicate with Gmail" error?
I used to have a motorola razr, and the app worked just fine, so it's not T-mobile blocking me ... but rather something in WM6.

Actually, i just tried this the other day with My Wing, and I had no issues. But, I have had issues before when I was using the Standard T-Mobile ROM. Currently I am using the Touch-IT Rom.
As an FYI for anyone having problems with the stock TMO rom's ... after installing the PDAVIET TouchFlo rom, the GMAIL app works flawlessly, but I had to install the java from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1483665&postcount=24
i prefer to check it from PIE. my homepage is set up as google and it includes GMail (showing last 5 emails) as well as a few other blogs. Checking for new mail without even logging in makes it very quick, just load up PIE. I gave up with the gmail app a while ago...
Yeah, I have google setup as my homepage too... which is nice, but I like the ability to use the gmail app since it has more off the options you would get on the actual site.
Plus there's that whole "hell yeah" feeling you get when you finally get something to work that been making you crazy for the past 2 months! haha... similiar to my getting the resized mms problem fixed.
great results!
Have to verify duprade - I am running a stock wing and simply installed the cab, started that version of Java and ran the Gmail mobile app (no cert prompt or anything.....)
--paklids.
Glad you got it working. I was certainly relieved when I got it to work.... funny thing is I barely use it ... I just want it to work when I do need it.
I actually got this to work by downloading the file on my phone. When it tried to run it, i got the cert error. but i opened esmertec jbed, went to menu, install, local file and it finds the gmail file. Click gmail in the list and it will start the install.
Working fine for me now. You do have to hit yes a few times for it to connect...but this should work. let me know.
I do this also, but the only problem is that it does not display attachments, such as photos. Any ideas on how to fix that?
Thanks.

I don't normally use my phone to go online but lately i've had emails sent to my hotmail, but everytime I try and log in from msn.com opera just closes down, in fact opera closes down quite a lot. I've tried using messenger on the handset but that doesn't connect unless using wifi, any suggestions guys?

man have you tryed with internet explorer ?
Since yesterday, I'm having a problem over 3G.
The default browser when I try to access any https page:
Data connectivity problem
A secure connection could not be established.
.. Weird thing, happens with everything, web banking, google account login, google buz, etc
Isn't the provider, because opera can access any of them, and I could live with opera, but also a couple of applications like 'soundhound' I think they use https also, because won't work , but If I go by wi-fi, everything comes back to normal.
Someone told me about cleaning APNs, did, but the same result.
Using rooted 026 version, everything fine from months ago, but yesterday started with this weird problem
I have a similar problem. In the default browser, when I try to log in to my online banking account (Westpac), instead of displaying the page like normal it downloads it and I have to open it from the downloads. It's weird and I cant actually click anything on the downloaded page. But in Opera it works fine, so does anyone know if there's a fix and how?

exactly, opera mini works fine, but the problem isn't only about using Opera, it's that another 3 applications seems to use https
gtalk
gmail
buzz
and I can't post buzz with the widget, not use gmail app, not even gtalk.
soundhound also works only on wi-fi.
I can play some games without wi-fi, just 3G, access most pages.
The only problem seems to be https on 3G.
Already read a lot of workrounds on other devices, but seems isn't related to my problem.
I can receive emails just fine, but no matter what, I can't send an email! It just sits there at sending. Rebooted several times, etc.

Uhhh... silly question: Did you try remove account and then add it in again?
This used to happen occasionally on my Galaxy S i9000.
Try going into Settings, application, manage applications, ALL, scroll down to gmail and tap it to open it.
You can try clearing cache first. This usually doesn't work for me, so you have to clear data. This will erase everything in the Gmail app, but once you log back in it will all sync back from the server.
Let me know if that fixes it for you.
Hi All,
My YouTube doesn't work on my data (O2) UK but works on WiFi. Browsing and emails work fine however I have uninstalled the app and re-install but still same issues.
Anything I can try before resetting the phone and start again ?
Thanks
