ok i think iv killed my m600
i flashed it with the older imate rom the 1.0.9 version
it installed 100% and rebooted and from ther it was stuck on the imate screen for like 10 minutes and i see the following text in red on the top left corner

What you could do is flash it with an newer rom
Hold camera button AND reset (be asure that it hold it while resetting)
Then... you are in you bootloader... connect the PDA with your PC..it will recognized it!
Then run the romupdate ;-)

Aren't you getting "USB" written in the bottom left corner of the 3 colour screen when you connect it to USB?
Yes i get the USB come up at the bottom of the screen my computer does not do anything. can you tell me which ROM i will need as the ones i have to run the ROM update but it comes back saying connect to ActiveSync which i can not do is there a way round this?

I got my P4350 last thursday, After a few hours used Hard Spl, then phone was dead.

On Saturday i took it to HTC service.
Today they told me they will change the phone for me.
What it seems is they could not fix the problem and also i suppose they couldn't tell the cause of it so they decided to change it for no charge.

i was unlocking my phone (the HTC Touch Pro 2 <sprint>) and I was using a Diamond unlocker , but during the process there was a connection error and now my phone seems to be bricked. I can't get it to even turn on, get to a bootloader screen, or anything even remotely close.
The one odd thing that it does though, is when I connect it to my computer, it pops up and my computer recognizes there is a device there. In my Device Manager there is an unknown device called: Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM. I have tried every combination of two buttons, including holding down the reset button with all of them, but nothing gets me anywhere.
If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it. there's eny way to save it???

Program stopped in percent screen (in 0%) and don´t run more. After if you unplugged the PDA (an HTC Polaris, of course) and swich on don´t pass of the Tri Color screen and you can read "POLARIS. SPL-1.25.0000.CPLD-2" and in the rigth corner "RUUNBH" but nothing began, no OS or programs, nothing... Any suggestions and help??? Thank You.

last week-end I tried flashing hard SPL v2 on my French Polaris, before planning to flash the new radio 1.64, then bepe's 0.66 ROM.
I spent the first part of Saturday night trying numerous times, recovering, taking battery away, and trying agin - never worked. Then I tried flashing the 1.64 radio, it went up to 99%, then stopped, error message: from then on my Polaris went to boot-loader only, after soft reset or even hard resets. Until dawn I tried to fix this (I'm not a developper, I'm a power user travelling 4 days a week by plane accross Europe). Couldn't fix it.
On Sunday I called a friend of mine who imports HTC and sells the channel: I gave him my Polaris and he took it with him to fix it. Result was very surprising: I had given him your hard SPL v2, and a few nice ROM's from this site, specailly bepe's, as well as all the radio versions listed here for POlaris; well none of all that worked with him, and he could only reflash the official ROM and radio, and return it back to me...(which was very kind as it took him some time).
BUT, overall I'm very frustrated as I'm an early adopter, and I would so much like to try cooked ROM's on this fabulous device.
What do you think I should do? Any idea?
Is there a way to guide me though a custom process or is there a real issue on ALL French ROM's out there? (can't believe that).
Your inputs would really be appreciated.

FIXED! at last the problem was I used a SPL for HTC ELF not Polaris and, I don´t know why, that makes OS stopped in an eternal bug... Whem I use again the same Hard SPL for Elf Voilá! Do it! And know all works fine. I promisse: I will never change the BootSplash be sure

Hard reset the device and it can take u out of bootloaer mode. To hard reset:
GPS/MESSAGING and INTERNET EXPLORER buttons, and at the same time, use the stylus to press the RESET button at the bottom of your device.
2. Release the RESET button, but continue pressing the GPS/MESSAGING and INTERNET EXPLORER buttons until you see a message on the screen
Release the buttons, and then press SEND on your device to perform the hard reset, or press any other button to cancel the reset.

You are rigth Olipro as always, but I left because I have the experience of used badly and block the PDA until I use again and unblock the machine. Maybe the diferent chip make a kind of bug than only can be fixed with Elf Hard SPL I don´t know but with me works. Let see if is the same with Diagorn
could be a side-effect, but the file should be blocked from flashing anyway.

Curiously Elf SPL unblock the flash and I don´t know why Anyway I stopped flashing anymore because I don´t want have the same problem again. Only I explain what happend to anyone that can have the same problem and attach the Elf Hard SPL if they want use and probe
BT Problem
The BT LED styed ON and after hardware reset (removing the battery, the reset button wasn't working) only the bootloader screen. It revived after I flashed the Radio ROM. And what bugs me is that BT button remains ON in TouchCommander, but NO BT. any ideas???

Cruise stuck in 3-color screen
Hi,
My Cruise just frooze, during GPRS synch with Exchange server. Soft reset and hard reset do not work anymore. If I take out the battery, and then switch on the device it stops in the 3-color screen. BT light stays on.
I have not made any changes to my Cruise, only added a 8 Gb SD card.

I was really frightened when my TC got stuck in Tri-Colour screen. MY Polaris came to standstill, trapped in.
Over and over ROMUpdateUtility.exe shows ERROR [262 or 284]: UPDATE ERROR while trying update.
And only this strange RUU gave me other ERROR [296]: UPGRADE ONLY that helped me to quite out the three-color screen and installed new radio successfully.

while updating my ROM of HTC P3400, i have bricked it. Now when i press any button on the phone nothing happens. Only red and green light flashes once and nothing else happens. No bootloader mode (tri color). No battery charging indication nothing. Phone is compeletely dead. I have some ROM images and set of tools (mentioned on this site) available with me. Please help me recovering my cell phone. let me know some links etc or any other means of getting my cell phone back.

i am not able to come in Boot loader mode as well. When i press cmaera key with power on key...nothing happens. Battery is also not out. i have tried my phone's battery successfully in frn'z cell.
Power on your device. When the leds blinks hold camera button and reset the device. That way you should go to bootloader mode and flash another rom.
When I have that problem I solve this way.

guys I have the same problem. My htc gene is bricked.I have tried all the methods. I am unable to recover using Orefkov's method. When I try to press power key or soft reset button , onlr red and green light blinks. Nothing else happens. I am even not getting the tri color screen.please help me.

Right click on the Activesync icon and deactivate USB Connection. Wait for the device to be recognized, if it is not being recoginized, change the cable.

You can install any ROM you feel like, the choice is yours - just make sure that it says that it is for "New Gene"
PPL, I've tried all of it.. hold the camera key and reset/power on etc but my p3400 denies to boot. only answer n disconnect key blinks while trying to reset.
while trying to press the power on key nothing happens,,, no led blinks at all....

Basically, when i press the power button doesn't start. It happened after follow the "Install / Update SPL" ( http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/SPL ) guide.
Is there any way to recover it? or should i put it on the bin?
You're going to have to be more specific than "it doesn't start".
Does it turn on? If so, does it hang at the htc magic screen? Can you hold vol-down and press power (while still holding vol-down) and load a screen with three androids on skateboards? If you can do the last step, it's not bricked, and you should look at the thread I have below about bricking and semi bricking, one of the users on there gave a great amount of information on what you can do if your phone's not working right (bricked).

It was after follow the guide i mentioned before. I tried to update the SPL, but something went wrong and my phone didn't turn on again.
So... I think I have to accept the fact is not going to work again.

I'd really like to say it DOES something... but it doesn't . I tried Volume down + power, back + power and several more combination always taking out the battery and putting it back.
It's bad... Do u know if there's any hardware service for this?
Just a wild guess, but since the phone sucks more battery, then a vampyre on rampage.
Could it be an idea, to charge the battery before, or have the usb cable pluged in, when you press back+home? (the same buttons you used to enter fastboot)
I'm pretty sure what you're trying to say is, you know enough about the phone to know how to bring it into it's multiple boot options, and none of them make the phone even burp. So there's no need to tell you to press this button plus that button, or insert usb or remove usb, or battery or such, because you've already done all that.
Well, I'd have to agree with you that it's dead. Unfortunately, there's nothing to do at the moment. I'm guessing (or maybe just hoping) that in the future there will be an unbricker for our phone, much like those available for many htc branded winmo phones. In the meantime, how old is your phone? Can you still bring it back?

1. What was your original SPL
2. To which SPL did you "try" to upgrade? (I hope you didn't try to flash a G1 SPL on your Magic...).

That's how my brick arrived ! Tried Hard SPL, after installing the one you suggested. Yours okay, Hard SPL no. But even after installing the spl, no fastboot adb.

I think you are right, I have flashed the G1 SPL. But the page is really not clear, it start speaking as Dream/Magic and probably it is only for Dream. Since it says to apply the Hard Spl and in the download link(http://code.google.com/p/android-roms/wiki/SPL) there is no clue that it is not for the G2.
Any idea? anybody got it changed from the shop with no problems? (mine is vodafone in the netherlands)

as far as i can see no need to flash spl on vodafone magic. i have the same phone and all i did was root with Rav1.1.1G.img and flashed rom of my choice. you have flashed phone with g1 spl and it actually says g1 on the link you provided..........can't see how you missed it. with phone off press home+power button as that bring up recovery image. Rav image file is safer due to that. i am sure if hardspl was available for Magic it would be posted on here as a sticky

You did brick one with the hardSPL and now you bricked another with the same stuff? Didn't you learn the first time? Only way is to go back to the store and tell em you did it again.

It seems to me you need to go back to basics and start here
A noob question but what exactly does flashing a new SPL unlock.
I got my Vodafone UK HTC magic and simply Downloaded a 32B ROM and used nandroid backup to apply the update.zip and it installed fine and can use Root required apps.

My HTC magic was bricked after update SPL. Now when press power button, it stuck at HTC magic logo, anyone have solution for fix its?
I Can not understand how can this be possible. Why guys all of you, don't read before trying to change your SPL???? You even don't need any changes about it?! Why do you try to change the SPL? Do you know what that SPL does? I think most of you - don't.
My next question is why all of you are trying to flash the G1 SPL onto Magic phone? Are you crazy or what? There is NO HARDSPL for Magic (G2, Sapphire or whatever you want to call this device)!
The SPL collection is posted in this forum by Amon_Ra, and if someone want to change the SPL can do this by downloading some of the SPL collections posted here.

Power off your phone! Then press and HOLD the "back button", while holding it press once the red one(which you usually use to power on the phone). It will power on (i hope). If you get in fastboot mode then everything will be fine.
