control media player from win mobile - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hi just wondering if there's a decent app like the iphone has that controls your laptop windows media player via you mobile device? The iphone one lets you browse tracks too.
Would be really cool if there was.
Cheers

For anyone that doesn't know this seems to do it pretty good:

Windows Media Player help in Wizard

Does anyone know of any tweaks/ hacks/ xda-developers working on adding an auto-resume or a bookmarking option on top of Windows Media Player? Is this really hard to do? I'm surprised no one has worked on something like that yet.
Also, are there any free/ low resource-intensive media player applications that can play DRM-protected WMA files? My problem is a basic one: Conduits Pocket Player and some of the other "robust" media players are too much for me. They have more features than I ever use, and are way too resource-intensive for my little Wizard. I'm just trying to listen to audiobooks on my Wizard while working out, and hate having to locate my spot every time.
Thanks much for any help/ guidance/ suggestions.
Search for The Core Pocket Media Player. This is a very basic, yet powerful media player for PPC devices. But it doesn't have a bookmarking feature as you've described.

Nero Mobile

Just curious if anyone uses Nero Mobile on their Wizard for playing media files?
i did, it sucked, i deleted it. it was always freezing up on me
thanks for the info and sorry to hear that. I was hoping to be able to use it on my home system and wizard to sort of "standardize" my music using the same software. I guess Windows Media is about it. I am not too educated in that area though.
How long ago did you try it? Maybe there is an update that fixes some things.
I just installed Nero 7 Ultra Edition, but I disabled the Mobile application.
I don't use my Wizard (Cingular 8125) for media - speakers and headphones I have tried are pretty weak. So I still use a Creative Zen Micro player. To get my tracks onto that I use a replacement for the Creative Media Explorer called the Notmad Explorer. It handles transfer of music tracks, streaming content, backups of everything on the player, etc. It's developed by Red Chair Software. Really nice when it's working well, but I just moved it to a new PC and have some trouble with it - no response from developer.
On my old PC it still works, and it's the best at it when it works.
music app
I've had my mda for a while, and so far the best music player apps IMO are ppod, wmp w/spb to play, mortplayer is cool also...
but I did try nero mobile and so far its not that impressive

Windows Mobile Media Player problem...

Hi All,
I have recently been getting an error message in Windows Mobile Media Player (Windows Media Player) on my XDA Mini S saying;
"No combination of intermediate filters could be found to make the connection"
And i cant seem to figure out why. I cannot play any videos or sound clips on my mobile, and i cannot find an alternative way to view video or sound files on my XDA.
Is there any chance anyone knows where i can download a new versionof Windows media player for my Windows mobile 5 device? or does anybody have any resolution for this?
Thanks for your time
I do not think there is a newer version to this problem but I was recently having trouble with WMP and I downloaded Pocket Player and have really liked it.
Doesn't seem to have that many bugs, has a today plugin (if wanted), is quite easy to use - maybe give it a try!
Where did you download Pocket Player from? and was it free etc... because i have searched on www.pocketgear.com and it is $19.99
To be honest, i really wasnt planning on paying for a Media player, however, if i cannot get the media player on my phone fixed, i will have no choice!
Thanks
Have you tried cold booting? Or TCPMP?
Yes PocketPlayer does cost you; I understand not wanting to pay for a media player especially since one that is supposed to work comes with the phone - i just couldn't deal with WMP.
Try TCPMC - its free and it may not have all the organizational features of WMP, but does play DivX files

you'd better try another media player such as RealOnePlayer (supports video and music) if you are interested you can try this...

Play media from Desktop

If anybody is interested, WINAMP allows you to view and play any files located on your desktop through the internet on the phone basically from anywhere.
Something else that does this very nicely, called orb, at www.orb.com. You can play any media (MP3, Video, Pictures as well as online radio) streaming from your desktop. They open in WMP on your device.
I have never tried winamp for this, may have to give it a shot and see if I like it better than orb. Just wanted to make people aware of this option as well.
An interesting question, I wonder if the new Linux version of winamp has this capability... That would be super nice!
if you have vista or xp media center you should use webguide. it integrates much better than all the other options i've come across

Vista Sideshow Media Center remote control on Blackstone

Hi,
Just wondered if anybody has managed to get the Microsoft Vista Sideshow Media Remote Control working over bluetooth on this phone? I keep getting an error whenever I try to access my Music or Recorded TV using the Blackstone which crashes Sideshow on my phone. It seemed to work fine on my Kaiser device I was using before. I realise sideshow for windows mobile is still beta but it would be intresting to know if other people are having the same problem?
Its a shame that it doesn't work yet as it would make an awesome way to control the media center without having any need for a remote.
Also I was wondering if anybody knows of any X10 home automation control software that works with the Marmitek CM15 Pro attached to my media PC in development? It would be great if there was a Vista Sideshow gadget that was working so I could control my lighting and media through one piece of software on the device if the bugs get ironed out?
Thanks
Ben
got the same error, i think, whenever i try to access my media library the app quits with an IndexOutOfRangeException. which is a real shame as this looks like a great idea.
