914c screen orientation/resolution - Sable

Hello,
is there any way to change screen resolution orientation on 914c?
I was looking for information, trying RealVGA without any success.
I'm new with handhelds - more detailed information would be very welcome
xg

I would also be interested in knowing how to change the screen resolution on the 9xx (if this is possible) from landscape to portrait.
For what it's worth, I have a couple of apps from Spb - Minesweeper and Sudoku that change the screen orientation when they're opened, but this could just be the way the program is written and not how the phone handles it.
Any info on a cab that may exist that we could assign to a hardware button to toggle landscape/portrait would be helpful!

HTC P3600 (Trinity) screen orientation

Hi all,
does anybody know if there's a way to quickly change between landscape & portrait on the Trinity - or to set up a hot key to do so?
Thanks.
Of course there is. For instance, install SPB Pocket Plus and assign Rotate Screen Left or Rotate Screen Right to one of Trinity's buttons. There are actually many applications that offer screen rotating function.
You don't need any tool. Just use the normal WM5 settings to assign new functions to key 1 (voice recording) and key 2 (camera). One of the selections is "<Rotate screen>". The assigning of "<Rotate screen>" to the "voice recording" key was one of first things I changed in the Trinity settings.
What about on the screen
...thanks for that, but I kind of like those keys for the camera and sound recording. Is there any way you can put a shortcut on the Today screen to perform the same task?
In Today screen there is by default an icon to rotate the screen!
Icon?
I can't find a default icon on the Today screen for changing screen orientation - can you tell me what it looks like and where it should be?
Thanks

This is part of the HTC-plugin. It should be installed on your device if you have an unbranded Trinity by HTC. It includes a battery indicator and icons for the light settings, the comm manager and the rotation. Those four icons should be in a line somewhere on your today screen.
Exactly.
Starting from left to right I have:
Battery status - Screen orientation - Comm. Manager - Light adjustment
In particular the screen orientation icon is the one with the picture of the P3600 and the stylus pointing its screen
ah!..found it - i could have sworn the screen orientation icon was for something else. Thanks to all.

Idea about tf3d landscape limitation

due to landscape limitiation of tf3d hd, I've got an idea:
1. maybe someone can create an app to open WM program menu when keyboard is sliding out. so it hides the ugliness of tf3d in landscape mode...
2. or just disable autorotate when keyboard slide out...
I',m sorry for my bad english, just want to share my idea...
alternatively, let the tf3d panel control the landscape mode, while giving the control back to manilla when at portrait. This way, the panel will take care of rendering & managing 6-8 shortcut screen interface.
another great idea...

Full rotation

Could one of you experts guide me on how I'll make my HD2 to rotate in alla directions?? By default it rotates only 90 to the left.
I've "played" with Advanced Config but haven't manage to make it
I've tried locating posts explaining this but had no luck
Thanks in Advance
You can use either:
BSBTweaks (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=589305) or
ChangeScreen (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468488)
I think BSB only allows other screens to rotate portrait to landscape, the OP wants full 360 rotation I think.
Pretty handy for riding rollercoasters
Yes, I'm talking about 360 rotation
THX
install gyrator 2
Dear Oblivion Gyrator is a pain in the *** to setup and I can't see why should I as the device follows the G-Sensor. The problem is that it does so only for 90 to the left and not all around. Any solution to this??
ChangeScreen allows an easy way to apply rotation in all directions in all programs.
Furthermore, and in order to avoid some undesirable rotations in phone, screen lock, camera..., you better add these applications to exceptions: cprog, manila, shell32, gwes, camera, digicompass, services

Because HTC decided it would only follow on the left side, period. So, as there's no way to change that, there are programs like Gyrator (messy) or ChangeScreen (a bit less messy) to overcome the limitation. I'm afraid you'll have to do with that. They take a few minutes to configure and you're done, It's not too bad.
But Advanced Config, in the "screen" section, has two parameters that, supposedly, "fix" this. One is for defining if the rotation is fixed and the other arranges the angle by whitch the rotation functions. Unfortunately they don't seem to work
Can I use Changescreen along with Advanced Config and BsB Tweaks??
Yes, from what I can see ChangeScreen will simply override the rotating settings from the other programs.
ChangeScreen is a good alternative, but, like I said, configure the exceptions, otherwise some rotations could be very annoying
Thank you all for your help. Could you please give me a hand with the exceptions?? I.e. camera seems not to be possible to be excepted!!!
Igo8 and lock screen turn the screen off (simply needs to press button to "re-enlight" but it is prety annoying).... Igo anyhow seems to be excepted.
Could you guide me what to write precisely in the exceptions??

Do you know how to prevent the lock screen from rotating?
Open changescreen, click show app names, open the program you want to add to exceptions, its name will show up in the middle of the screen. Enter that in the exception list, tick the portrait icon only, done.
Works fine with camera here.
I do think I'll go back to gyrator though, changescreen rotates too "early" to my liking, and this is not configurable.
Thank you. I had tried that before on the Lock Screen without success. For some reason it works now. Maybe I misspelled before.
Run the program.
In "General" tab, check all options available on this page.
In "Exceptions" tab, add the following (each separately): cprog, manila, shell32, gwes, camera, digicompass, services, commanager. Check only the first option for all these applications (usual portrait direction), and save.
Restart.
By the way, since I started using the "Proximity sensor off" application (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624206), I disabled the lock screen. It has become useless.
kilrah sensitivity IS configurable.... 3rd tab "Advanced" the slider down the page

Homescreen in landscape view

I apologise for asking a question that appears to have been asked alot, but I have been unable to find a definitive answer for my query after searching through the forums.
As I'm sure some of you have discovered with some landscape cabs, it can screw up the wonderous features of music and photo screens. So what I am looking for is a landscape cab that only manipulates the homescreen itself.
The closest thing I found was the Elegance Theme which unfortuantely forced me to hard reset my unit.
Does such a cab exist?
Cheers
I'm interested too because my previous device (HTC TP2) was able to show the homescreen in landscape modus.
Well i've managed to fudge the dialler to go landscape when handset is rotated.
But if handset is already in landscape position and i open the dialler it goes portrait and i have to move handset to portrait and back to get landscape view.
Rather frustrating when i'm driving!
Can anyone please shine any light on the homescreen issue or indeed how to get the dialler to open in landscape view when handset is in landscape position?
Update: For some reason dialler now recognises landscape view and opens in right orientation (having not changed a thing).

4th file down on first post.
Thanks for you post MalekoUk, however as stated in the 1st post of this thread there are cabs out there that screw the features of the photo album and music screens, and your suggestion is one of them.
to fix the music and image tabs after installing your landscape cab
edit reg:
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila
EnableFullscreen from 0 to 1
then with BsB tweaks (menu/Rotation) remove SENSE-manila
then you can use change screen the make manila rotate the other way so left for normal music player and rotate right for the tweaked way
thats what i do
ok i just worked out that you dont have to install a cab all you have to do is
make a string reg in HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila called EnableLandscape and set it to true and you have landscape that easy
splder. ur trick didnt work for me

Screen rotation for SQ 320x320

I did a great many searches and have tried every screen rotate program I could find but none of them work on my Saga. Even enabling the orientation settings in the registry via Adv Config did nothing. So am I right in assuming this feature is disabled on square screens? I ask because a some software change the orientation to landscape which is just annoying on a qwertybar phone. Is there any solution to this? Maybe a small launching app that traps a programs call to flip the screen, or would that throw of stylus coordinates? If I knew what to look for I wouldn't even mind Hex editing the few particular apps that do this (not many work on my phone period) and just nop-ing the call in the exe. My experience with winmo coding is virtually non-existant though so I'm not sure what to look for. Guess I can hook it to a debugger in the emulator and just start poking around but I'd prefer a simpler solution if anyone knows one.
