I was wondering if anyone knew a registry tweak that would STOP the phone from vibrating (3-4 vibrates ANNOY me ) when you turn the Wi-Fi switch on, on the side of the phone? Thnx
mine doesn't do that... strange?
It's only when the phone is on "vibrate"
maybe there's a noise that you have set to play when wifi is switched, and since you're on vibe, it will vibrate instead.
As I said, I don't have this problem, and neither does anyone I know who has this device.
Then again, we're all professional types who turn off the keytones and sliding sounds right away. Maybe that has to do with it.
is vibrating when you turn the wrieless on
or is it when it finds a wireless ap
I would try in your sounds and notificatins goto notifications
in the selection list select "wireless network detected", make sure the vibrate button is not ticked
Yeah, I don't know what you have set up because mine definitely doesn't do that, even when the phone is on vibrate.
when I enable vibration and I take a call th phone continues to vibrate for a while after answered, it's a bit annoying, is it possibile to disable?
i have the same problem and it's really annoying! if it only could stop as soon you take the call.

Ditto!
I suspect this'll be one for a 'chef' soon enough ;-)
Try Phone > Settings > advanced & untick 'vibrate device when connection is established'?
No idea if it'll help, but I noticed the setting!
Theres already a thread for this here.

No, that´s not, this feature is the one that makes your phone do a short vibrate when you call someone and he answers the call, so you can wait to be answered without having the phone close to your ear.
Hi, site looks great, need to explore more, but reason i am here at mo is i'm trying to find out if there is a way to let the phone light up when a text is received? like a conventional phone/ this is my first wondows mobile / pocket pc thing, so its taking some time getting used to it
At moment though i have to press the power button to check if any texts, and this will be using power as pressing it when no texts are in (phone is silent at work)
IS this poss to achieve? either through settings, or a app?
You can use HD Tweak (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=452505) to turn on a feature that causes your phone to turn on when you receive a text.
You can also go to the Sounds and Notifications setting in your phone and check the box that will cause your little LED light on the power button to keep flashing until you check your message.
thanks for the help, will look into that
I did that and works great (thanks to HD Tweak) but I found out why they decided to not turn on the screen by default... whenever I receive a SMS and the phone is on my pocket, I start making calls by mistake...

Go to "Settings, Buttons"
Either select "Lock Device" or "Always display Quick list"
Long press on the end call key will then Lock all input so even if the phone does wake, it wont respond unless unlocked.
Locked phone is essential if you have a Bluetooth car or Earpiece as the phone will wake everytime on connect/disconnect also.

So i have been having a lot of freezes with using the phone function. Most of them happens:
1) when the phone rings, i try to answer it using the slider and it freezes
2) when trying to make a call, it gives me the connected vibration and the call timer starts to count, but no voice come through. I will have to hang up and it freezes then.
Does anyone have the same issue or any suggested solutions?

Disable the below setting.
Start > Settings > Menu > All Settings > Today > Items
The setting "Today timeout", at the bottom left hand corner, should not be selected/checked/ticked/enabled.
I turned off all vibration or feedback and yet my phone vibrates when I get incoming calls. I unchecked all the boxes trust me and it still vibrates? Is it just me or does anyone else get this? I simply don't want it to vibrate when i get incoming calls!!!
Any suggestions!

Is the profile on vibrate? Try Menu > Settings > Sounds > Vibrate in General.
nope! it's on Normal with vibrate unchecked
Had the same issue and found this on Androidworld:
Try this:
Settings -> Applications -> Manage applications
Find the keyboard software you are using (for example "Android-Keyboard"), press "delete cache" and "delete data". This removes al personal settings of the keyboard.
After that I rebooted and vibration was turned off. Hopes it works!
Does this also remove all dictionary entries?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
On a side note, I think I get times where the phone occasionally vibrates for no good reason - no apparent notification, no apparent change or anything.

Good, at times I thought it was me going mad but I'm 100% sure it does this occasionally - but it could be absolutely anything, so I didn't even bother trying to find the cause.
I'm getting the same. 1 short followed by 3 short "pulses". The phone was in silent-mode (no vibrate), and I didn't get any calls og messages at the time.
