Today my batt went flat, when I go home..charging it and want to send an sms to my friend...the touch screen decided not to response to my touch....
Soft and hard reset also no use.....

I was messing with wmwifirouter on my touch hd and it hung for some reason and i had to soft reset my device. i pressed the power button and switched it off when the confirmation dialog came up. however, when i turned it back on, it would go past the smart mobility screen and the fone gets stuck in the htc screen. the windows mobile screen doesnt show up and it just would go past the htc screen. the charger respords well and wen i wait for sometime and when i press the power button for sometime, it gave me the confirmation dialog sound. but there was nothin but the htc logo on the screen. maybe something is going on behind the screen, but when connected to usb it wudnt detect on active sync. and wen i pressed the reset button under the battery cover, it was stuck at the htc logo screen before it showed some msg asking to press send button to restore factory default settings cause the device wasnt shut down properly or an untrusted app was installed (this is basically wat it said, not word to word.)
so can anyone help me? there is some texts i really badly need to back up.. anything other than a hard reset? please help. thanx in advance.
If you can't get past bootloader screen looks like your only options is to flash rom or hard reset
yeah i just hard resetted and everythings back to normal.. its a pity, i just lost around 4000 txts from my gal..

Have lost maybe 50 messages at max in that time because of some vista failures and Touch Diamond got stolen in Bulgaria.
Hello. my htc HD is with custom rom ( laurentius 26 ) . yesterday suddenly my touch screen stop responding. The lcd screen looks as new , just no touch response. I tried to hard reset it but when the hard reset start I can't tap the screen to continue the set up. only the volume and start buttons working. Any Advice, please..
any drops or trauma happened??
No my friend, the phone was in my pocket I didn't use it for an hour and when I take it was like that. I don't know as the touch screen don't respond if I can flash back stock rom on it , and after that to call htc europe? Thank you to trying to help me
I has this issue once with a beta rom of dutty, the way I fixed it, was flashing a new rom with micro sd.
Message appeared sayjng problem in manilla exe. Now nav panel keeps appearing and have to soft reset as cant escape o.ut. Phone stuck in landscape and cant change. home button dont respond. i did a hard reset twice and still the same. standard hd2.
also when i try send txt it goes to nav panel. what is nav panel?
the today button has stopped working too.
ok its working again,even the button. all i did was stick charger in it.
all i can think of is to try a task29 and reinstall the rom
Think better if i return phone ?. Happened again, so stuck phone charger in and prob some how fixed again. No idea what the charger has to do with anything lol.

In early February I upgraded my Touch HD to 6.5 from 6.1 and if am right it was energy.blackstone.21891.leo_Max. It worked for about two week and and then one day I struggled to get a gps fix on my tomtom. The next day the screen just froze with no response of any touching or stylus.
Managed to put the original orange rom back on it but could not cariberate the screen due to its not responding. I sent the phone to HTC UK for repairs but they said due to my having used unauthorised software the motherboard needs to be replaced and they were asking me to pay 168 pounds so they could go ahead with the repairs. I got the HD2 on a new contract.
Still love the TOUCH HD and was wondering is there another way of breathing life into this thing. Responds well to install new roms but the screen continues to remain frozen

I have same kind of Problem.
My HTC had broken Screen, I had it repaired.
After it came back the touchscreen worked OK. Than I flashed it with the ENERGY Blackstone ROM.
Flashing etc was OK. Device started again and came to the Point where you have to tip on the screen to do the SETUP. But that did not work. I tried Softreset. Hardreset but No change of Problem.
Send it back to the repairshop and after I recevied it again the Energy was still on it and working.
Since a new ENERGY rom was out, I flashed it again . Result, Same Error, NOT working. To make sure that the ENERGY-ROM wasn't the error, I reflashed it with the Original HTC ROM.
Also this one does not work. It also comes to the point where I need to tap to do the Setup. Nothing happes.
When I attach the Phone to PC with ACTIVESYNCH, the Synchronisation works OK.
Any Help Any Idea ??
Probably you need to replace digitizer(touch screen layer, not LCD) Look on ebay for a new one.

Damn, I have almost the same problem!
I have used Energy roms for a year, without any major problem. I have installed dec. 20. NRG rom, and today it is completely messed up my HD. No response on touching the screen or pressing any button. After a hard reset the touchscreen alignment was came up, and the touchscreen is working, but I can't align the screen, it starts over and over again... and thats all. I cant do anything else with it. I have reflashed stock rom and spl, still the same.

same with me here... I also have got an EnergyRom installed. For more then one day now I get no response from the touchscreen. Everything else seems to work properly, e.g. the popups which remind me appointments are there.

I installed energy sense last week, phone worked fine for 4 days then i came to use it and it didnt respond to the touch screen, however tapping the screen would bring back on the backlight?
I hard resetted it and also flashed a new ROM on, still the same, I found that it was responding but taking up to 5 mins to respond, i.e if you tap the first calibration point, after about 3 minutes the point moves, however calibration never completes.
I think the phone is scrap.

Hi there,
Just wanted to run this issue past you guys with my htc tattoo. Basically, sometimes my touch screen just doesn't respond to touch input at all, the phone still woks using the buttons but that's all. its random as to when it does it and it can go a week or so working fine.
I've tried re calibrating it (when its working) but the problem still comes back. I didn wonder if the screen was faulty, but its not all the time?
Its still on the original (orange)rom, ive never put an unofficial rom on it.
Could it be a loose connection inside the phone,ive no other screen issues.
I have reset the phone back to factory defaults before but this doesn't stop the issue from coming back
Any help/advice would be great
