Custom Startup Animation

Hi folks! Been Browsing your pages a lot these days and I like your stuff. SO I thought I'd sign up and give something back to you: A custom startup animation for the X1. Put the file into Windows folder (overwriting the original) and there you go. Warning: You cannot do this over ActiveSync! I'm not sure if it works with the built-in file explorer, I did it with RESCO Explorer, works fine after confirmation. Make sure you have a backup copy of the original file somewhere. I'd be glad to hear some comments Tell me if you like it or not and WHY. If you don't have any idea what this is gonna do: It will change the animation right after the Sony Ericsson logo when you power it up. Sony Ericsson logo before and Windows logo after remain untouched.
EDIT: Just found out that I have to ZIP the file... Otherwise it becomes JPG. So Download, Unzip, and THEN copy.

Well I kinda made one too. Just for fun.
If the startup animation doesn't show up, download the ALLOWANIM.ZIP file, extract and merge the registry settings in your x1.

Nice idea to refer to the startup logo

And another attempt by me, this one's a little bit more exciting and I've stolen your idea about fading the logo PSD this time included.
The animation goes like:
Fade out SE logo
Show "Sony Ericsson" text with a shiny animation
Fade in white glowing "X1"
Fade out glowing "X1"
Hope you like it, haven't tested it yet on my X1.

There's been many downloads already, please post some feedback!

To be honest I find that huge X1 to be annoying lol
PS: Is anyone even liking our efforts or is this a huge waste of everyone's time? Let us know...

A video or image would be nice during the start up.. im lazy to install then uninstall if i dont like it

Cool! But I would prefer it if the "Powered by Windows Mobile" etc were present all the time, and the animaiton could be more smooth (Though I'm sure you've invested quite a bit of time into this... Respect!).

i like the start up logo with the paper plane...Genius
But it doesnt let me replace the original file using the in built Phone file explore.

my x1 only has SEMC2904.bmp in windows folder, im using resco.
so tried to change name of SEMC1904.gif to it and says cant overwrite because its part of rom.
what am i missing ? please help

Sigh: neways 1904 is the animation, and part of rom but it won't do anything but play at the boot so safe to replace from rom.
The 2904 is part of the static splash screen with the big green SE logo. Replacing it won't damage anything. Safe to replace.
If you want bootscreen change, just replace welcomehead.192.png, again safe to change Have fun.

So sexy! Now one last thing: I'd make it stop some time once the I SE live is there, a still picture for say 1 sec. Otherwise it will directly go away during boot. Nice work! What apps did you use?

Cal-El's Clocks for new Hero style Manila 2.5

Here are some Clock cabs I made for the new Hero style Manila 2.5! One will give you clear flip panels and a blue tinted background with white letters! The other black flip pannels with white letters and a green tinted background! I noticed there are not many mods for the new Manila 2.5 so I wanted to get some started! Enjoy friends!

Nice job man... But for my EnergyRom I wanted a mix of both of your clocks.
So I've downloaded them (and joined forces ) and came up with a new variant that fits really well with the rom colours. Check it out! Once again thank you.
BTW, I have an Xperia X1.

outta curiousity how did you combine them, i like the look that you achieved, any chance of making a cab for it or explaining how to join forces lol thanks

Hi VETTE, sorry for the late answer...
I'll provide the clock for sure and try to explain for you, it's no big deal.
First I gathered the two cabs, then extract them with WinCE cab manager and then used manila editor to see wich files belonged to wich part of the clock.
So I wanted the blue background (there is a file just for that) and all the rest, black number background and everything else, from the green one. I just copied the files from the green clock and the file for the blue background to windows directory and it's done.
Never forget to disable HTC Sense before doing anything, also make sure the attribute files checked in the properties are "archive", "read only" and "system" before copying them to windows dir. And last but the most important, make backups of the files, we never know what can go wrong.

This is slightly off topic, but how do you get the calendar part under the clock to actually give upcoming appointments instead of saying the word "calendar"? Also, is there a way to add tasks to the home tab?

Christmas gadget (Cracker), broken LCD ;)

Due to the seasons holiday and so some spare time, I started Visual Studio 2008 to create a nice little gadget called "Cracker". In first instance this gadget was developed for the HTC Rodium (Touch Pro 2) but runs possibly on more devices. Don't be scared by the name of this gadget, it is harmless, unless you hold your phone and are scared very fast
In general it's a useless application slowly changing your device screen into a broken glass image. At the end there is some soundeffect and a text on the screen. The settings such as delay, text message and text size cab be adjusted with the aid of the Config.exe.

OK, bug is removed and CAB file can be found in the first post.
Installation is a matter of copying the CAB file to your device and execute it. Afterwards there is a folder Cracker under Start - Programs. Inside two executables, one to config and one to execute.

So, quite recently on Twitter, I've been informing my followers of things I've tried, managed to accomplish, and/or various ideas on tweaks that I'd like to attempt in the future.
Now, with that in mind...
I'd like to present this thread as an open-discussion topic, to further the common knowledge of everyday users and "1337 h4xz0Rz" alike.
Please, feel free to share a "success story" of something you've managed to make possible on your HD2. Whether it be a registry tweak, theme, custom ROM, or various modifications... be sure to offer as much detailed information as you can, allowing other users to perhaps share in the same experiences.
More-or-less, this is where TESTS, TRIAL-RUNS, and COST/BENEFIT ANALYSIS will meet in terms of what CAN and simply CANNOT be done... SAFELY on our devices.

hmm well it wasn't very "1337" but I was pretty happy that I could edit the registry to make TouchTwit blink the LED when I get mentions/msgs.

1) Open registry editor
2) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Notifications
3) There will be a lot of GUID entry folders. Find the one that corresponds to the notification you want to alter. When you open the folder, the (Default) value, if set, is the name of the notification that corresponds to the control panel value.
4) Change AvailableOptions from 11 to 15
5) Hit start->settings->Sounds & Notifications->Notifcations
6) Scroll to the notification type you just changed (for me, "TouchTwit: Mentions")
7) The box "flash light for [x]" will no longer be greyed out

reignzone- I would like to know if it is possible to increase the vibe alert intensity on the TmoUS HD2? I did a search and was not able to find anything. I switched from a Razr V3 which had a strong vibe alert. Also, I successfully flashed to HSPL2 and just waiting for a stock rom to flash new rom. Thanks
Can anyone walk me through dumping my stock TmoUS rom so I can post it here which will provide everyone a way to revert to shipped rom?

Well, in terms of vibration intensity... that is usually application specific. The system vibration alerts cannot really be tampered with as far as I know. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. There are applications, "modded" applications that provide various system tweaks that can alter the vibration... but not too many of them are focused on something so "simple" as vibrating alerts.
As for a system dump, that would be excellent. Post in a few other threads in this area, and I'm sure you'll find people that would be glad to assist you in providing that for us all.

i installed dusk theme on my tmous hd2 seems to be working fine. i think it even fixed a problem i've been having since day one where it doesnt come back from sleep. so far haven't had to soft restart. i also installed a few other files from the uk version and they seemed to work ok. also all the registy tweaks work fine.

Good stuff guys. Again, thanks for additional feedback.
As for Dusk, yes... I've taken quite a few bits and pieces from that theme and used it on my STOCK build. For instance, the retractable slider themed with Dusk features.
I'm so glad we're finally moving this T-Mobile USA forum along now, it needs more attention from the EURO threads.

I can use my HD2 to watch any videos from my file server.

I don't mean to toot my own horn here, but I just installed and tested quite literally, every transparent home tab slider from the guys at PPCMods.
And needless to say, each one of them worked, flawlessly. Also, they all look just gorgeous. But after testing "the look" of most all of them... I fell in love with the Colorful Stickers icons. Simple, HUGE, and great design.
Finally, the clock fonts are phenomenal as well... check those out too.

Pretty simple - just get the HTC Networking add-on or (I use) Resco Explorer & its network client. Wi-fi up, point it to a file share with your creds, et voila! I find TCPMP and/or Core Player to be tops for viewing.

Bootanimation for CM6

Here is my variant of bootanimation.
For them, who notice it in CM7 tread: this is fixed version, tested on my phone (sorry i was doing it first time).
There is else a gif preview in draft quality. I hope you enjoy it!
How to setup: (for such noobs as me )
1. Install some file explorer with root access (I used eStrongs)
2. Replace the file bootanimation.zip placed in folder system/media
3. Reboot
P.S. I think everybody are welcome to post here your bootanimations.

Hi guys, I found this very old animation here on xda and made ​​some changes. Tested on my phone with Froyo.
(Here's how I changed bootanimation; Replace the file "bootanimation.zip" using DroidExplorer : system - > customize - > resource)
