i cant get the windows update to work on my phone
is there a place one can DL all the updates from, and send to the phone, and update it this way?
like normal pc update back in the day, one could DL them from MS, for offline computers..
it doesn't work....if you see the link its likely because the build was a beta build. No updates for windows mobile are pushed that way.
Mobile windows update..reason
this question was asked few times in... threads in past ...i refer to a question and answer session... on facebook /windows mobile on ..25 april 2009...a Prithvi Raj ... a Product Manager in the Consumer Experiences group in Windows Mobile..replied to questions.... about update issues..quote.." The Windows Update for Windows Mobile capability is designed to deliver critical fixes, which we have not had the need to use yet thankfully!" if you read the whole text in general on facebook/windows mobile /dicussion board section you would understand issue better...if you want to get update etc...i suggest....rather check on official ... htc website... every now and then..for hot fixes or maybe update..??

Windows Mobile 6 Phone Pad Installer for HTC P3600
There have been reported cases wherein the virtual Phone Pad became unavailable after the device has been upgraded from Windows Mobile 5 to Windows Mobile 6. If you encountered the same problem, please download this installer (.cab file) and run it on your device to install the Phone Pad.
"after the device has been upgraded from Windows Mobile 5 to Windows Mobile 6"
is there a WM6 official for HTC3600 ?
Best regards

You'd better post your requests on it:

Dear Sir
Thank you for getting in contact with HTC regarding your problem.?HTC have not and has no plans for releasing a Windows Mobile Six update for the HTC 3600. Recently there was a short cut on the HTC website pointing to a WM6 update but this was done in error. Further Information can be gained from visiting the link below as for the Windows Mobile Six being available for the Asia market and not the European users we can not comment on company operations in Asia.

Just as notice for you
Dear power users, I would like to ask how do you update pre-loaded softwares such as Opera or else? for example, if months later, Opera 9.6 is released, if I install it in my HD, would the link in TFL3D automatically point to the new Opera? or what else should I do?

There are no automatic updates as such for TF3D, Opera etc. However HTC usually release new ROM versions to address performance issues, at the same time they update the applications. Forum members have updated Opera to later builds by over writting the existing files stored on the device (most of which can be found under the \windows\ directory). There are a few threads on this forum and the Touch Pro forum with details on how to do this successfully. The key is to ensure all Opera processes are stopped before trying to update, otherwise a "file in use" error can occur.
It won't auto update.
The only way I know to update integrated apps is by loading a new firmware.
For this you either have to wait for HTC to update the firmware.
But on here, customized and optimized firmwares are more likely to be updated ASAP whenever an update for an app is done like Opera.
So, best is to wait and see for cooked ROMs/Firmwares and hope theres some beauty's in there.

stupid marketing description...still doesn't know what this update will do...
this hotfix news has been posted lots of times, and non of them is useful. the links are not working at the moment, doesnt matter which country u r from. so unless u r posting a working link, please use search first.
None of the links provided at HTC page work.
Check if a thread about hotfixes (and other important stuff) already exists before you post it otherwise we'll get 100 threads about it.
I've saw no thread about that in HTC Leo's subforum. So i posted it. After that, I've saw one subject in Leo themes and applications but sorry, an HTC's official update has nothing to do in themes & applications. It's not a theme, neither an apps.
I thing this subject is in the good category and to be hoenst, I haven't got the idea to look in Themes & Apps if somebody has posted it or not, because it has nothing to do with this section.

Lancelot's right. The other thread should be deleted as it's in the wrong forum. This is the correct place for it.
Links now work from UK site at least
It originally was placed in this subforum and someone moved it.
But I agree with you this subforum is better.
link is now working from Europe 2 server. camera utility has been updated to v6.26 (B 1922.1732).
nothing new that i can see so far. doesnt include the 8Mpx superfine registry tweak for those who are interested.

as stated = its the same update from March... I guess toshiba decided is was better to send all registered users an email, rather than (or, as well as) update their site to indicate there is a newer 6.5 ROM available... (ie site text still reads "check you're not already running 6.5")
This a old version update... right??

No dude. You cant install Android on Windows Phone. You need to buy Android Phones for that. In earlier versions of Wp10 it was possible but not now

Something close is possible, You can install Appx File.... It's the Universal Apps : there might be some that have be converted from android to Windows phone.. Just google Appx Downloads and see if you can find something he wanted. If so, that is what is possible. The previous : A Older version of Windows on the phone had a special file/command, whatever you wish to call it. """Bash""". It allowed Linux to run on windows. Sadly they removed this, it would give programmers to do things Microsoft did not want to happen.

I think what you meant was sideloading apk using adb in W10 build 10149 . The Exploit which allowed more or less sandboxing of Android app. It Ran the basic Android Apps which didnt have much dependency on Google Play services and more in use by Project Astoria. That means if an android app that required the GMaps plug-in would crash in W10M. Well that's basically not possible now as they removed the Linux Subsytem. You cant install Android Apps now on Windows 10 (btw Nowadays which dev is spending time on Lumia devices? ) I dont think there would be more development of Windows 10 mobile in future as they have shown that Full blown Windows 10 would soon run on ARM devices which has SD835 or more( Just think SD835+6GB RAM+LQS)That would be amazing. But Microsoft Doesnt have the Required no. of Apps in store (Admitting, UWP was not a great success) and enough market share. But dev's like @feherneoh and @banmeifyouwant have done great thing in porting Android to SG Lumias. :cyclops:
feherneoh said:
SD835 might be a great SoC, but we'll have to wait and see. But that will give us x86 Windows apps, not Android
Yeah, there is the 52X port, but note that we have no connectivity at all....

Atleast if the perfomence if fine on SD835 soc , I Mean more than 2.5Ghz and enough page memory, I Think running or emulating Android apps would be smooth. Moreover if its full fledged Win10 the bootloader stuff Etc. would be easier to unlock and build Android for that. Yeah as you said we have to wait and see.
Yeah, Connectivity is major barrier on L52X Android Ports. If you guys could solve that, L52X Android port would the topic of debate and hopefully open the doors for future development. Good luck with connectivity though. Anyway you guys have done a great work on dead Lumias
