All the Intent MIDlet Managers 11.x ever released!

Hi all,
Before Esmertec Java ever came, the only Java midlet manager available (at least on this forum) was Intent's one.
Long time ago i published HERE the first cab-ified version of the 11.x series: 11.1.7.1023. It worked with google maps and opera 3.1 and fullfilled all my needs. I then quit following Intent's further developments until today.
This morning i read this great article by Menneisyys (i have still to find one of his articles which is not great!) and realized that there were two more recent versions of the Intent midlet manager: 11.1.7.1029 and 11.1.7.1034.
In particular, the latest one was already available as a cab but it was not suited for connecting to the net since it prompted asking permission each time a connection was made instead of each session. So using it for browsing with opera mini would have required the user to give his permission every time he opened a page! Even worse that Windows Vista UAC!!!
What can i say? I had to do something! And i was able to re-enable the per-session check!!!
Obviously, the credit for version .1034 should go to dFine (i used his file: TAO_JMM_11_1_7_1034_WM5_Communicator_by_dFine.cab).
I have only removed the oneshot-only security limitation.
Now, i give you here all the versions of the Intent MIDlet Manager i have: they will all work without prompting you each time. ENJOY!
UPDATE: Thanks to megarek who informed me, i'm happy to publish here a still newer version of the MIDlet manager: 11.1.7.1036!
- Intent MIDlet Manager 11.1.7.1036 Newest release! Can Be Installed in SD Card too. (tested)

RELEASE NOTES:
Version .0136: while stable with all the midlets i've tried so far (google maps, mobile gmaps, etc), i have had problems with Opera Mini 4 beta2: i'm am not able to quit the program (menu->quit will freeze the midlet manager) and i've experienced random freezes too. I don't know if these bugs were present in release .1034 too.
EDIT: user Menneisyys did not experience this problem with his Universal, so it is probably a rom/device related problem. I'll keep you posted on this.
Version .1034: I don't know if it is a version .1034 specific issue or a problem with opera server but i wasn't able to install opera mini 4 beta2 straight from my ppc. I had to download opera jar file (attached below) in my desktop pc first and then copy it in my ppc.

It's a separate hack by dFine; he explicitly enabled storage card support. This is why his releases are all stroage card-aware.

Yeah, i checked the registry entries in the cab and they all point to %installdir%, it was really a good work from dFine!

However, I don't mean to nit-pick, but .1034 is not the lastest version. The T-Mobile Hermes ROM (WM6 3.60) comes with .1036 of the Intent Midlet Manager

It'd be GREAT to have a flawless (Net-enabled, new - the currently available CAB file is no-Net and old, for example, it still doesn't support M3D) Jblend installer.

I was shocked to discover that the brand new Touch official Dopod English ROM comes bundled with the Intent v10.1.7.575!! In contrast, the official German Touch ROM came with the Esmertec midlet manager. Rather strange!
Do I have to unistall the old Intent version before installing the new ones posted here?
Or do you think that the Esmertec is better than the Intent? I have reasons to believe that it is better/faster

I've thoroughly tested 1036 on my WM6 Universal (aurentius26's WM6 PRO Business V7 VIDEOCALL v7, based on AKU 0.3 - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312519 ). I haven't enounctered any crashes / freezes with 1036 installed to my storage card using the same OM4 b2 version. (Tried to exit OM4 several times.)
That is, this might be a ROM/device-specific problem?

I'm using a pretty old one (aurentius26's WM6 PRO Business V7 VIDEOCALL v7, based on AKU 0.3 - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312519 ). No problems with the security rights in either (1023 / 1036) version.

Nope, you don't need to explicitly uninstall it - just answer Yes when (and if) the installer asks to remove the old version.

In many respects, it's certainly better; most importantly, in full screen support. However, there still are some advantages of the 11-series TAO over Esmertec; for example, support for M3G.
I really recommend the charts of my forthcoming MIDlet Bible; in there, I've compared these apps. (The charts are still beta and I'll further extend them when I publish the final version of the Bible; however, as a start, they are OK.)

It's really weird. There is nothing that have to be configured, it should work just out of the box. The small hack i apply to the program (to enable the session check) is in rofs_target.zip so, pls, be sure that this file gets replaced when you install one of my cabs. This is the only help i can give you, i'm really sorry.

At this point i have to conclude that it must be a rom (or device) related problem: in all my tests, 100% of the times it freezes when tring to exit the program! I'm going to install a new rom in a few days, i'll keep you informed on the developments...

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for this thread, it's really great.
Then, please correct me if I am wrong. I'm using the smartphone HTC S620 (WM5, Intent v10.1.7.561). This version does not seem to support DatagramConnection type, does it? (Nor SocketServerConnection)
I tried to install the Intent v.11 but it crashed from starting the application.

Diamond and Flashlite 3

okay, so flashlite 3 has been leaked, great! but why no instructions or reports in how to get it to work with htc diamond? all u hear reports from are kaiser usersl
I have the latest UK stock ROM and all i want to know is whether I can get flash working with the existing pre installed browser. I do not want an unclean installation method, nor do I wish to 'upgrade' my opera to some other build that is not customised for the diamond and that would lose key features such as the scroll wheel.
would appreciate your advice and experiences.

Thats the thing. I dont want to use a cooked ROM. I want to keep my stock ROM, furthermore I dont want to force any version of Opera that isnt officially customised for Diamond. eg, I dont want to lose the likes of scroll wheel support etc

not one person on that thread has appeared to have tested this with the HTC Diamond.
This is the problem.

It won't run on stock. It needs the newest OS core an Opera 1938

so basicly anyone who sticks to the stock HTC Diamond ROM has no way of using flash lite 3 with Opera?

Okay, considering it is the current leading WIndows Mobile device - can we please have some CLEAR CUT instructions as to how we can get Flash Lite 3 working on the HTC Touch Diamond? And by working I mean working on an OFFICIAL HTC stock ROM or network carrier ROM, I do not consider flashing to a cooked ROM and invalidating my warrenty a solution.
If Opera needs to be uprgraded, then please tell me how and what (diamond specific) features we lose.

I'm running Opera 1938 and I can still scroll with my finger to zoom, etc... Just try it, what have you got to lose?

As you probably or rather hopefully know, there is no official non beta Flash Lite 3.x for Windows Mobile x.x and Opera Mobile x.x. Yet. Let alone one customised for the Diamond. At least, AFAIK. So, as you clearly are a consumer, nothing wrong with that, and taking your past and present Diamond related threads and posts into consideration, my sincere advice is you ignore all versions floating around and keep on enjoying or loathing your device as it is
Why don't you wait until HTC or your network carrier publish one suited for your stock ROM, again nothing wrong with that, including step by step written and video instructions on how to install? Then wait some more for the first user reviews to roll in, before deciding to jump in head first
Or, you can put some effort in, search for how to upgrade Opera and scrolling, experiment with what is available and help others out by sharing another kind of experience, like a lot of XDA members do.
Come to think of it.. No, please don't! I don't think you've got what it takes, still nothing wrong with that. You would probably only end up whining some more about how the Diamond sucks donkey balls, how HTC has done you wrong by tricking you into buying this incomplete, non functional device, and about the demise of Windows Mobile in general. Now, that boring routine could bug me a little
Seriously, no hard feelings, I really hope you enjoy your Diamond with all it's pros and cons and take care!

darthbane2k if you have old flashlite or maybe flash installed it wont probably work even when you install new opera i had to hard reset it because i was unable to remove all parts left of flashlite 2.1 and flash 7

It worked reasonably in my Diamond , Youtube and other player based on
Flash, other swf, only render static.

Just Flashed My MDA Compact IV to Dutty V1.9.
It has Opera 9.5 1938 built in.
Then i installed the Flash Lite 3.1 cab.
Rebooted.
And lo and behold, i could view Youtube from within Opera!

Flash lite 3.1 working fine for me
opera 9.5 build 1938, install both opera and flash lite to device memory
using TLR3 ROM
Instructions for upgrading opera can be found in the development and hacking section in the opera 9.5 thread.
Instructions for installing flash lite 3.1 can be found in the development and hacking section, flash lite 3.1 thread
Instructions for flashing your ROM can be found in the sticky in the diamond ROM section.
If you dont want to flash your rom and upgrade opera then there is little chance of you using flash lite 3 until adobe release an official version. But if you dont want to flash your rom and upgrade spftware then these forums may be the wrong place for your questions.

It's work for me too.
youtube work almost very well, but dailymotion (specially for french) don't work. Maybe in another version of flash lite, the 3.5 are in development.

How to test if flash is working? I went to youtube and it always gives me m.youtube.com (for mobile) and when I clicked on the video, the streaming thing (windows media?) pops up and the video never shows up from within opera...
I went to adobe test page and the flash test video is blank... does it mean that it doesn't work? Any other site that I can test if flash is working?
FYI, I have the latest Opera build installed on SwiftBl cooked ROM. And I have modified the Opera.ini file so that I can use gmail on opera.
Edit: Got it to work now. I can see youtube from within Opera. It's the opera.ini file that I have modified that made youtube not load the videos from within the opera (but pop up windows media instead). I have fixed it now.

How to uninstall Opera 9.5 Build 2745

Hi Community,
I installed Opera 9.5 Build 2745 Cab from a Touch HD on my Xperia.
Because there is a bug with the keyboard, you can only type one letter in a textbox and after that it will deselect that box, I want to get rid of it.
My problem is I can't remove this version via System -> Remove programs.
It's just not listet there. I already tried do install/uninstall an official beta of Opera.
This only helped me as far as an Opera was listet but it only removed the official beta.
Anyone a suggestions what I could do?

why dont you run the stock Opera from the Windows folder? that in theory will install the default X1 version and replace the one from Touch HD.

Just go to your windows directory in the root of your phone memory there you will find a .cab of the stock opera

- Some people here have had the same problem. I think they all did a hard-reset (everything will be gone afterwards).
-> If you do a hard-reset, you can update your ROM while your at it. The new official ROMs have a better Opera version built in (9.5 build 2532, but way better than the original one, scrolling works with the optical joystick now, faster, better landscape support etc...)

My problem is that in my custom rom (Touch-It Experience v.3.01) I have Opera 9.5 Build 2532, but I cannot change with AEKmap to the GREEK layout. Is not working. I can write only English...
Perhaps, should I take the: Opera.exe and OperaL.exe from the cab of Build 2520 (which is working with AEKmap - Greek well, but there is no scrolling which I DO want!) and overite the ones of the 2532?
Or vice versa?
Do you think that I will solve the problem?

Reinstalling doesn't work
When I try to do this, it say's something like "opera software asa opera 9.5 cannot be removed"

Did you just try to install on top of the current version, without uninstalling it?
I think this version is in some custom ROMs. The bug was definately the same and installing the version I linked to on top of the previous version always did the trick for me. But perhaps it depends on the ROM

Maybe it's because Opera mobile is my standard browser?
Could this be the reason why I can't re/uninstall it?

Another option is to try SKT Tools. You can kill opera.exe and I found several posts here and on PPCGeeks stating that it worked.
I tried it with the stock opera on my Sprint TP, and it worked (I do not even remember what the original version was). First time I got the same message (cannot delete...). But once I stopped the opera.exe from running, it worked just fine.

I've saw no thread about that in HTC Leo's subforum. So i posted it. After that, I've saw one subject in Leo themes and applications but sorry, an HTC's official update has nothing to do in themes & applications. It's not a theme, neither an apps.
I thing this subject is in the good category and to be hoenst, I haven't got the idea to look in Themes & Apps if somebody has posted it or not, because it has nothing to do with this section.

Lancelot's right. The other thread should be deleted as it's in the wrong forum. This is the correct place for it.

nothing new that i can see so far. doesnt include the 8Mpx superfine registry tweak for those who are interested.

Does any one know if the updates posted on the HTC website are really useful? I've installed them and didn't notice any change on my mega.
maybe they were meant for earlier rom versions?
