Hi.
Is there any tweak, cab o registry edition to solve the annoying 2 to 3 seconds it takes for the other person to hear your "hello" when answering a phone call?.....(which is usually the second time you say it)
Hope this have a solution!!!
Thanks.
yeah.. having the same problem as well..
I found this in xda
"I read this a while ago on another forum. Mayber someone wants to try and report if it works:
You can remove the delay by editing this registrykey :
HKEY_CURRENT_USER------>ControlPanel------>PhoneNetSelMode------>Timeout
change the value from 3000 to 0, the delay is than gone.
Reboot,Done."
I have already done it and it seems to work!!!
Hope it works for all.
Bye
seems to improve...lag
i changed registry value from 3000 to 0 .( on my hd...as suggested by mantrajt )..tested it response...several times..and noticed slight improvement ....delay from 3-4 full rings.... cut down to two.. ?

There is a 2 sec delay between hitting the "ANSWER" key and getting/starting to send my voice to caller.
It's annoying that i have to wait about 2 seckonds till i can say HEY.
What program can i use to remove this annoying bug
or can i just use other kind of phone software?
(i used phonex and it was faster, delay was about 0,5 sec)
By default, there's a 3 sec delay between hitting the END key and dropping the call,
that can be adjusted by advanced configuration tool. set mine to 0 sec.

Would it be possible to put up a link to advanced config tool software that you are using?
I can't seem to find the setting on v2 and v3.0+ wont work because of some .net framework problem.
Thanks

h2kk, do you happen to have any idea whats the "keyboard layout" which is default: custom ? Is it the onscreen or hardware keyboard?
Seems like no one cares about the MOST IMPORTANT feature: PHONE
Beleive it or not, lots of people use X1 to make and receive calls,
and if that feature is buggy, then, i'd rather have that fixed, than use touch flow from htc hd.
Or is there a thread somewhere and i just don't seem to find it?

Have you tried searching rather than expect someone to do your work for you.
Ive just typed "call delay after answer" into the search and come up with this lot.
http://www.google.com/cse?cx=000825...nswer&sa=Search&cof=FORID:0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8
There's a lot of discussion over this on loads of different phones, some people believe it's the processor struggling, (too many progs running etc) but I'd hope not with a device this quick,
I haven't had this happen to me yet, touch wood etc...
others seem to think it's a variety of things, you could try this.
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"CallProgressIdleTimeout"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\PHONE\PhoneExtendS etting]
"EndCallTime"=dword:00000000
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=258109
Fix described in the link above was for Windows Mobile 5, but hopefully it will do the trick for you. Let me know if it works.. If so, I'll use it when my phone arrives!!

Should the "CallProgressIdleTimeout" value be predefined in the registry? Because for me it wasn't there. I created an object an set it to "0000" but it didn't help anything. I still have approximately 1,5 seconds delay after hitting the answer-button before the call gets connected.

nah dont use that one, it's for the delay in the phone ringing, but will mess a few things up soundwise on the X1 I think.

I actually searched and didn't find a solution.
Tried google again but all the results lead nowhere.
Also i have allready changed my registry (don't have the callprogressidletimeout though)
Rahul3000
This fix only makes the phone ring instantly, that's not our problem here.
I'll say it again. The reason why i started this thread is:
When i used Phonex software, then answering calls was a lot faster
I'm willing to uninstall the default dialer/phone application (still don't know how to do that)
and use phonex or any other fast piece of software. (phonex freezes my phone)

What phone skin/dialer are you using ? the stock SE one?
you can revert to the default WM one by changing this key.
hklm/security/phone/skin/enabled to 0 and reboot.
try that, if it changes things then it might be worth changing the caches as the both the manilla (tf3d) and SE dialler take up a fair bit of memory, what do you have those set at?
I'm quite interested in what's causing it, as I don't have this problem on my phone
Phonex looks quite nice,
i live in New York have the Time Set to Eastern US i just recently started getting my Incoming SMS/TEXT at a different time meaning for Example: right now is 11:00AM anyone who sends me a Text/sms the time on their incoming text/sms says 7:00AM.. and i notice it only happen with people who are on a different Network... i am on T-mobile so if i get a text from, Sprint, At&t or Verizon it has the time difference.. does anyone have or can fix this Issue.
thanks In Advance.
FIXED!!

Same over here...how you solve it?
1/ Go to HKLM / SOFTWARE / OEM / PhoneSetting
2/ Add DWORD "TrustTimeZoneField"
3/ valeur = 0
4/Soft reset
escuz my english is very bad
I did This :-D
Use Total Commander or any other Registry Editor
1. Go to HKLM / SOFTWARE / OEM / PhoneSetting/ +Add Value+
2. Add DWORD "TrustTimeZoneField"
3. valeur = 0
4. Soft reset
cab
Here is a cab that changes that value. It's posted somewhere in this forum.
now am getting a 5 mins Time difference from people who are on a Different Newtwork.. i will try the CAB and see if that works...

bump i am also gettin a 5 mintue difference. has this issue been resolved?
I get a 2 minute time difference, tried doing that, but still no joy.
Help please!!!!
Note: I have a Leo, but this thread was linked into a thread in there, and sounds like the exact same problem so hopefully a fix for this will work for me!
i had the same problem
for a quick fix just change ur time zone to LONDON, Dublin which is GMT 0.
maybe you were using a UK rom or something
could it be that the people with 5 minute time difference have their clock 5 minutes out? and the people with 2 minutes differences have their HD2 clock 2 minutes out from the actual time... just a thought.
I'm having a similar issue.
Message I have sent have the correct time (I view sms in threaded view) but messages I have received display only the date. They used to all show time before I went on vacation.
I tried the CAB and the issue persists. Any idealios?

Thank you for that fix...works beautifully!
Cheers!
is there a fix for this? tried searching but couldn't find anything, just a lot of threads about the delay to reply which works slightly better due to new fix released today
anyway, in conversation mode, if I reply quickly back to a text message within the same minute then it goes before the text I'm replying to instead of after it!
not exactly good if you send quick texts often as the conversation looks a mess!
thanks
Hi,
Try installing the latest hotfix for SMS. They've sorted out the little bugs in texting. You can download it from: http://www.htc.com/uk/supportdownloadlist.aspx?p_id=297&act=sd&cat=all
Hope this helps!

I'd already installed the update earlier today and it's still there . Surely it doesn't just look at hour:min in the text message details and list them. Wouldn't it work better if they also date/stamp (including seconds) the text when it's received so it will work OK in conversation mode?
try it yourself and send a text to yourself and when you get it, reply straight away and it will put the 2nd sent text before the text you received in the 1st place!
This happened to me where all my Texts were at the top of the conversation and all my friend's replied were at the bottom. Is this the same problem you had? I solved it by changing the message type to unthreaded in settings.
i have same issue .. my gf replies straight away and it appears she answered my question before i asked it .. its very annoying
Took me a LOT of searching when I had the same problem, but this fixed it for me:
Edit the following registry key...
HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\
add a DWORD key "TrustTimeZoneField" and give it a value of "0"
No more time zone issues. This is caused by your operator I think sending the wrong time to the phone...
SOURCE: http://www.mattgibson.ca/2008/04/13...gsm3g-windows-mobile-56-smartphonespocketpcs/
this change only solve if u r in diff timezone.
but we are both in same timezone.... but sms timestamp is not basic on our mobile time setting is basic on their one

I'd faced this issue too. The way I could fix it was set the Time of my HD2 about 2-3 Mins forward than the current time. That solved the SMS order issue.
Actually the issue seems to be due to the Timestamp of the SMS which is given by the Mobile Operator being a bit ahead than the time on your HTC Device.
Did you try it? Was happening in the same time zone with me and this solved it.

that's no fix as the problem is then reversed as then incoming texts go before the ones you've sent out . I found that out straight away as I normally put my phone fast anyway but then got incoming texts going before my initial texts! Even just 1 minute ahead doesn't work as texts sent/received within that minute get mixed up!
my G1 used to time stamp them as they came in with the time of the handset, not time sent or network time. Good for conversation on G1 as it got them in the right order but it had it's flaw. The problem being you didn't know when it had actually been sent to you if your phone had been off for any amount of time as it simply time stamped when received when you'd switched your phone back on!
whoever tested the SMS feature of this phone obviously didn't do a good job at all strange that such a great feature handset trips up on one of the most used features that most other handsets work perfectly fine with
There's still no fix for this?

its annoying that little bugs like this have not been addressed by HTC
same issue here
i am wondering when will HTC put a fix to this fundamental problem on a core function such as SMS. Seriously, the HTC messaging is nice, but with the lag and timestamp issue, it makes HTC seem like they're trying too hard and not focusing on making the phone work well first than look nice. I am frustrated as hell too, but trips to the service centre only gave me answers like "wait for a software release/upgrade", i am wondering whether do you receive any problems with the touch screen? the screen actually jitters and shakes up and down even when your finger is still frequently. i have changed the main board 2 times already and it happens still.
Btw, my set's from singapore.
Fix made! Check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6116612
Hi there everyone, I'm new here, bla, bla , bla and so On ( You read it on every newbie posts......)
In few words :
I have dying every time I get new SMS messages - each time I must to wait eternity to get message marked as read - it last abut 5 sec.
I use a lot of SMS, and I spend moust of my time to hold still on message three words long to mark it !
My 6 year old daughter can read all sms faster than 5 freaking sec. !!
Who invent those 5 sec.!
I search in registry, in forum, I search in googl... I search every were ( probably not so efficient ) Please help !!
Can anybody change delay time on marking messages ?
I can go "in" on every message and then it's marked, but when I get message "Ok" , "miss You" or similar there is no need to click it and read in details.
If I broke some forum rules - sorry.
Regards,
Afro.

You looked bad.
Install update for SMS from HTC
I've downloaded and try-it
Thanks for reply Petulinek.
I've downloaded and try-it ( HTC hot fix, SMS issue ) Only difference I sow, it is 3 sec. instead of 5 sec. What about free change of this value ? to 1 sec. or 11 minutes ? There must be some kind of registry entry about it or settings ( tweak ) app.
HTC hot fix doesn't do anything with "mark as read" delay in emails.
Cheers,
Afro
I'd like to second this question, has anyone found a way to directly manipulate this setting? It would be great to page through each message in the black screen and have them be read as soon as you slide to the next!
Try this reg entry, dont know if it works cant test it right now:
HKLM/Software/Jataayu/Messaging
MSFTUnreadCountFlag = 3 (Default Setting) Change to 1 see if it fixes it.

Thank you very much!
Ok guys hello again. i am here with some problem, don't mind ok .
I am from start experiencing this problem. lets say i and you are talking on sms. i sent you a message time=6.56, you reply me and time will be 5.56 :/. BELIEVE ME guys you don't want this to be happening to you when you wake up in morning and find all your received sms's gone back and all mine or yours sent in front. its like your friend, or in my case you replied before i even asked anything. damn time machine in this phone. i recently backed up my msgz and now got them back again (i use my phone service) the crap that happened is all the messages are f'd up! as some guys, i felt like SMASHING it against the WALL! it looks so f'in ridiculous when i open a conversation and all i see are my messages :/ and the one i receive they go in older section. please please please tell me some fix. i would appreciate it alot!
Ive seen this discussed somewhere up top, its something to do with the server and the sync of your phone or something, i saw this, just yesterday, there was a cab file to install that fixes it. I'll look around and report back.
-edit- if you know how to manipulate your registry try this, cannot say it will work, i have no need for it so i cannot test it but here:
Code:
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\PhoneSetting\
Add a dword key "TrustTimeZoneField" and give it a dword value of 0
-edit 2- if you dont know how to use a registry editor, install the cab.
Fixed . Thanks alot man. This takes a lot of frustration off my head.
Always glad to help
