Tick noise every 20 seconds when not in use - myTouch 3G, Magic General

Whenever I am not using my Rogers Magic, I have noticed that the phone makes a barely audible tick noise every 20 seconds. I cannot recall if my Magic did this with the stock ROM so I don't know if this is a result of running JACHeroski 2.7.3.
Anyone else notice this or know what is going on?

Loud in-call volume

I've been noticing the following strange behavior:
Sometimes the in-call volume is just too loud. Even on the minimum volume setting someone standing a couple of meters away from you will still perfectly hear the conversation. This only happens when receiving a call, never (as far as I can tell) when making one.
If during the call I switch on and then off the speaker, then the volume goes back to what it should be.
Has anyone noticed this before? Workarounds?
Yes, I've noticed this.
Always does it when it has been connected to a headset.
I seem to remember it went away when I installed the Modoco rom...
Mine still does it with the Modaco rom
@squirreleater: Thanks for your reply. It is just as you say
@both: Do you know if the latest HTC firmware fixes this issue? I know, I know, but I can't find the time these days to upgrade and find for myself
I`m on the latest MCR and it still does it. Its really P*****G me off now. I hate to take a call because of it.. Surely more people than us 3 are seeing this?
Yup, same thing for me although I've never noticed a difference between receiving and making calls (will watch out for that now). Quietest setting is still ridiculously loud. I'm on MCR 2.6 but have noticed on other roms as well.
I've noticed this too, but seems as though when I press volume up, it starts working again and allows me to lower the volume.
I can confirm that your workaround is just fine. Thanks.
So if i press volume up then down it will go quieter?
I will try this next call i get...
I am getting this same problem ... thanks for the tip I will try it.
I just noticed this. but after having my hero for like over a month. Could have appeared when i installed like 3 games yesterday but cant see why games would cause that to happen. but yea the workaround of increasing then decreasing the volume works. and it only happens when i receive the call. strange...

HD2 Sound Crash

Hello everyone,
It's been 4 weeks now since I own the HD2. It's quite a beast, I love it. Except there seems to be an issue with my device when it comes to sound (anything: mp3, youtube, ringtones, alarms, even the sound played when you take a photo): it crashes. No matter what I do, no matter when (idle or in use), it makes it crash.
I did the test and couldn't have the phone being used with sound in the same session for more than 4 hours in a row, or it would crash. Sometimes, after a fresh reboot, the first incoming message, leading the phone to play a ringtone to tell me I got a new message, would make the phone crash. Instantly (sound wouldn't play at time, or just the first half-second would play and then nothing or infinite replay of the first 0.5 sec of the sound - quite annoying btw).
So I move to vibration only. And tada! No more crashes. The phone has been up for more than 160 hours now and it never crashed. I used 20MB of my data connection, sent 55 SMS, received tons of emails (like over 200), used the phone functionality for about 150 minutes and everything works fine. Took countless amount of photos and everything just works.
BUT! I miss the sound! I want it. I can't use the phone as an alarm when I'm on a business trip! I can't hear a ringtone when the phone is left on the kitchen table and I'm in the living room (vibrate does the work when the phone is in my pocket or when I'm in a meeting, which doesn't happen a lot).
How can I know if the issue is hardware or software related? Is there something I could install to trace a crash and see what is going wrong? Sometimes, I can use the phone with sound for a couple of hours and other times the very first sound would make it crash. How can I fix this without have to return my phone (bought it in China, wish I could get a replacement but now I'm back in Montreal/Canada).
is your phone branded? where did you buy it?

Similar problem
I have a similar problem. My HTC HD2 crashes when i turn the volume to max.
I have tried uninstalling the SRS WOW application but i does not help.
When booting into Froyo Android v2.2 it doesn't crash but the sound is distant somehow. I can listen to mp3 songs but the vocals will often disappear.
I bought the phone with 3 in Sweden.
Flashed with Kumars custom rom.
Please help!

[Q] Vibration NOT WORKING

My VIBRATE option on my HD2 has seemed to stop working for some reason. It works every now and then, but makes an odd buzzing noise, then completely stops within a few minutes.
Anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this?
Thanks!

AOSP problem with lagg

I have a problem with AOSP roms, from v_1.0 to 1.3 where phone during standby time isnt very successful in transfering to full power mode. This is easier to explain on similar situation.
I dont touch phone for, lets say 15 min. Someone calls me. Phone starts to ring, but it is a rather unpleasant sound, not the regular one... Screen shows up after 15sec of ringing, and I'm not able to do nothing, except to wait for phone to stop ringing so I could be able to click something...
What to do?
Set min cpu to 245MHz.

Crackling noise whenever touching screen?

I recently installed the Kit Kat update and everything is great, except when I tap the screen it makes this crackling or popping sound. Once it makes this sound once, it stops for awhile, however, it comes back if I leave the screen idle. So as long as I'm using it there's no crackling, but it immediately makes the sound after it's touched following a period of inactivity. It's really getting on my nerves and I wanted to know if anyone has had this problem and if anyone knows how to fix it.
My system version is 183.46.10, build version KDA20.62-10.1 on Kernel 3.4.42-g5170b6b running on AT&T with the gsm hack.

This fixed the issue of the popping whenever touching the screen, but the speaker still pops every time there's new audio feedback. If I plan music, for instance, it pops before playing the songs. I don't know what Motorola did to screw up the speakers, but I hope someone can find a fix.
