Change the default install path - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

I hope I'm right here..
I want to change the default install path of my HTC device. I'm sure there is a simple registry entry, but where?
Is there anyone who can help me?

I've tried lots of things, but nothing want to work.. Then I remembered that I've a programm called "Advanced Config".
There you can edit the default pathes of the HTC. (I think it was the option location...)

gs tweak for t9 input

anyone know where I can get this file cheers
Hi,
I'm not sure if this is the one you mean... it worked for me.. Sorry if it won't.. but try it anyway.. goodluck!
I think thats the one but without sounding stupid how do you install the files. even when unziped no setup file there
its a cab file. not a zip file. just run it on the phone
Once I've installed the cab file, what do I do to have the phone pad show when composing a text?
Thanks
Darrone
it makes it difficult to answer questions without any detail. In theory you just need to choose the phonepad option in the list of available input methods.
If however you are using an orange rom or there might be some others that have a problem with phonepad. Then you need to go into settings, into system, into G4 SIP Hide, Into Sip settings and set Phone Pad to be the default. Then give it a quick soft reset to be sure and now when you select phonepad from the list it should work.
ps. I must have answered this question about 10 times now and i even had a whole thread about this where me and another guy posted all the info and all the files in it.
This was a while ago though so i will let you off. Still a few mins on the search and i am sure it must come up. Then again the search does weird things sometimes. Let me know if any probs.
Hi,
Could you tell me how to install the .cab file on my M700 once i've downloaded it to my PC. I can't seem to figure it out

How do you make registry changes take effect without a soft reset

I am trying to change some registry settings to do things such as 'adjust volume settings' 'adjust backlight settings' 'turn bluetooth on and off' etc etc.
I want to use mort script to make the changes but so far I haven't figured out how to make the changes take effect without a soft reset, even when making the changes with a registry editor.
Does anyone know how to do this so that the changes take effect immediately?
Any help appreciated.
two things:
1st: all of the things you mentioned above should work without a reset. the best thing to do is change the reg value manully and if it works with out a reset then you know the problem is in the mort script
2nd: If you know how to edit xml files then download this cab and edit the xml file how you want. this should help some

this has a lot of apps in it you will be looking for the one that says tweaks
Thanks for the info irus,
Like I said, using a registry editor to change the settings does not take effect until I soft reset.
For example (and i'd appreciate it if someone could test this on their phone) changing the values in HKCU\ControlPanel\Volume...."Volume" and "Ringer" to 0 assuming it is not already set to silent does not actually turn the phone to silent until I soft reset.
Could someone please check this for me and report back.
BTW I'm using a Trinity (HTC P3600) with AX3L's LITE ROM.
Thanks in advance.
I tried it and it did not work, you sould try to edit the xml file in the program i told you about and try it there. when i get done with homework i will try it my self
Registry value is read by windows while loading. In case of desktop pc if you restart the explorer process the registry gets loaded. you need to find some way to load the registry again.

Wrong Operator Name

Hi,
I am using a mini & it shows wrong spelling of the operator name i.e. GrameemPhone instead of GrameenPhone.
Would anyone be kind enough to give me a solution? I know there are lots of gurus out there ...
Cheers...
I am using a HTC Touch Viva (Opal), same problem. "GrameemPhone" instead of "GrameenPhone".
Very annoying
you can try xiaojin's font changer..it has an option to change operator name to whatever name you prefer..
Wrong Operator Name bug fixed:GrameemPhone instead of Grameenphone
1. Install any registry editor. Here is a free to download: http://www.phm.lu/products/pocketpc/regedit/
2. Run the registry editor and Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/RIL/OperatorNames
3. Select the OperatorNames from the tree list and add a New String Value from Edit menu of that registry editor. Give the value name is "47001" and Value data is "Grameenphone".
4. Save and reboot the device.
Warm Wishes,

Hi, i have been a long time user of WM. However recently i switched to HTC Hero (Android) which has the same problem - misspelled operator name. Any advise? Sorry, probably this is not the right forum to ask this. Rgds.
My goodness. I am revisiting same thread with another HTC after a year.
This time HTC Desire, same problem. GrameemPhone instead of GrameenPhone.
Anyway to fix it?
Haven't got solution for android.

Thanks.
I don't have the WinMo anymore.
Planning to get a WP7 soon though
Meanwhile, if anyone knows how to fix the problem on Android, that would be great.

why should tamper with the Registry editor bappinath, bappinath ..! it only helps temporarily ... if at any time you change the operator if you akn replace the operator name again ...? can become tired
should just use this ===> it will fit with existing state and operator

Help: Using a herald ROM on a Wing:WIFI problems

My WIFI doesn't work, and I need some help fixing it.
I own a T-Mobile Wing, and decided to change the ROM. I've tried a couple, and so far the the best one for me is the Throttle Diamond II. The only problem is that this is a Herald ROM, not a Wing ROM.
I know that the differences between these two devices is what causes my WIFI problem, and that the fix involves changing the registry. I even found instructions for doing that. However, that fixed nothing, and I don't know why.
Here's what I did:
Changed "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN" to
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \Windows WLanMgr.exe"
Under that location, I changed Device Name to "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETWLN1" and Default to "\Windows\ctlpnl.exe"
And here's the exact instructions I was following:
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \SOFTWARE \HTC \CommManager \WLAN= "Windows WLanMgr.exe " "DeviceName" = "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETW12345"
the end of this long String is the WLAN-Adaptername of the Device.
just change in this Example "TNETW12345" into "TNETWLN1"
-Step 3: (Fixing Wi-Fi setting launch issue) **Thanks for phatman81’s post for this fix.
Change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\CommManager\WLAN\ Default:"
\Windows\WlanMgr.exe --> \Windows\ctlpnl.exe
Click to collapse
This made no difference. One thing that may be causing problems is that I'm not sure if the device name is right, but I can't find how to figure out what the device name really is, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's not the only problem.
I'm sorry if the solution to this problem is really obvious, but I'm just not seeing it, and can't find anything to fix it, no matter where I look. Could someone please help me?
also have a problem with my wi-fi switch. it doesn't work. also tried the registry fix, but that didn't seem to fix anything. will reflash to a newer version tonight and post back.
I fixed it, the solution was something really obvious that I should have been able to find before I made this thread. I just needed to install the 10 button comm manager, then the registry changes could fix the problem. RussianBear, here's a link to the cab file for the comm manager, thanks to Nyer78 for uploading it.

may be you can try as follow
1:chang Device Name to "{98C5250D-C29A-4985-AE5F-AFE5367E5006} TNETWLN1
2:locat HEKY_LOCAL_MACHING\CONTROLPANEL\WIFI\WRLSMGR
CHANGE "REDIRECT" AS "\WINDOWS\COMMMANAGER.EXE"
I ALSO USE A WING,AND I DONE THE WORK ABOVE ,IT'S WIFI IS ALL OK
