mute WMP when iGO navi-voice speaks - Touch HD General

Hi guys,
Is there a way to mute Windows Media Player (or any other mp3 player) when my iGO 8.3.2 announces something?
Thanks
David

is there no way?

please help

The only application I know that can pause/play Windows media player or TouchFlo media player is the telephone when you answer/hang up a phone call. I've never been able to get another application to do it successfully.

thank you for your answer.
If you're right I should probably look for a new navigation software that has a media player integrated. any suggestions? I tested iGO Amigo but did not work.

From my experience Garmin and Tom Tom don't have anything to offer there either
I actually got tired of the female voice yapping in my ear when I need directions so I disabled it. That's how I got around it!

pocketmind "pocket music" won't work!

i think the subject says it all!
Version 3.71 won't launch.
Subsequently, Conduits Pocket Player 2.61 will launch, but the playback is so slow and jittery, it either must be a dog on the processor, or this is where the limitation of the OMAP processor is revealed. Ouch.
uninstalled pocket music, but found files are still looking for it, may not have completely gone?
iMusic works!
http://imusic.citsoft.net/eng/main.asp
tried both imusic & conduits pocket player, imusic is very good but both lack a couple of facilities that pocket music had,
display off function & lock hardware buttons
Don't bother with iMusic, i was told it screws up the ringtone capability.
thanks for the advice,
i had a similar problem with pocket music with my old pda, and what helped was not to let the "auto associate files types" run during the install.
New Pocketmusic for WM5 out soon!
It will be in this month.

Subject: Pocket Music for PPC WM5?
Hello,
Please could you tell me when you will be releasing an updated version of PocketMusic for Windows Mobile 5?
It doesn’t work properly on WM5 at the moment and I think your player is the best out there!
Thanks

sorry to reply to myself, but you can set imusic to be able to turn off the display, and of course you can remove hard button controls.

unless i am wrong, you can't turn the display off in the supplied media player.
if i am wrong please tell me.
Sure you can - you can assign it to a button within Windows Media Player's options.
The downside to it is that it doesn't even support soft keys! WTF?!

Using TomTom with background MP3 player

If I use TomTom with background MP3 player playeing playlist, the MP3 player (Gsplayer or Mediaplayer), after the player finished the first item, I can not hear the next ones.
If I switch off the GPS (BT 338), I hear the music again.
Everything works with other navigation software.
Any idea ?

Windows Media Player Alternatives?

So...
WMP sucks... its slow to switch songs... tough to create playlists and freezes up my Ozone whenever I am listening to music and get a txt/email.
However one thing it does do is allow me to use the song select buttons on my stereo bluetooth headset.
What I am looking for is an alternative to WMP that allows the use of those buttons.
I really like Pocket Tunes - clean interface, easy to use... wicked fast song switching but it doesnt recognize the buttons on the Headset.
I havent been able to get Core Player to work on it... keeps giving errors.
Any suggestions or rec's would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
Try Kinoma Play.
i think either vlc or mplayer also has a windows mobile (though it may be in beta)

Pocket Player will use the buttons on the headset, but you MUST go into comm manager and set your bluetooth to stereo and hands free each time prior to using Pocket Player. This happens with some headsets for some reason.
My Jabra BT8010 set works fine without having to go into comm man each time, but my old Motorola set did not.
I 2nd Kinoma Play. Easy UI, good features, smooth operation.

coreplayer make a problem with my A2DP bluetooth headset..
controlling wmp while locked or in another app
I am a newbie coming from blackberry & i have a question. On the bberry, if the phone is locked u can still control the music player by using the volume up/down keys to change volume & change tracks. You can also control the volume & change tracks when not even in the media player screen...for example if i switch over to look at my email....is there a modification that will make this possible on a wm6x phone?
Core player, TCPMP, or HTC Audio manager are good. I made a Titanium HTC Audio Manager panel for my latest ROM. You have to enable it in CHome Config.
Will the voice recognition software work with other players?

Bluetooth Headset only with WMP :(

Hi,
When I press any button on my BT Stereo Headset, my Blackstone always opens WMP.
I want it to use an (any) other player in stead. (pref. CorePlayer of TCPMP)
I did search the forum and I found this problem in some threads but there are no solutions there...
I've tried AVRCP Agent, But it doesnt work. I also tried a2dptoggle but it didn't work at all (just showed a today plugin that did nothing)....
Is there a solution because the library of WMP realy sucks bigtime.
greetz,
Pfeffa-rah
Kick,
Anyone?
Try this...
http://www.teksoftco.com/index.php?section=products&platform=1&pid=7
I've got the same problem too. Even if coreplayer is currently playing, when I press the pause button on my bluetooth headphones. It will pause coreplayer and open WMP... WMP is completely awful... I have no clue how to disable it.
Hi Pfeffa-rah. A couple of us are looking for a solution to this very problem in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=568142
Which Rom and versions of Windows/Manila are you running?

Music player, BT headset and control

Hi, can somebody recomend me a player that can be used with my BT headset so that i can control play/pause and skip and back with the buttons on the BT?
MP works but that sux
Gonna try and bump this. Does anyone have a good mediaplayer that works?
Well i managed to find it myself. Pocket player can be used via bt headset controls so that you can pause, skip to next track etc..... finally i can get rid of the MS mediaplayer

Personally, I have tried many media players and the one that works the best for me is the music tab built into the Manila. WMP bites, and unfortunately, it seems to always hijack the avrcp signal from by BT devices. I tried pocket player, core player(great for movies), but I keep coming back to the built in player. It is the best, most consistent I have found.
Good luck and cheers!
Try Pocket Tunes with Itunes integration & Bluetooth Stereo Works
Try Pocket Tunes
I used Pocket Tunes for years on my Palm Lifedrive and now there is a Windows Mobile version. It works great with my Sony Ericsson DS970 Stereo Bluetooth and yes the AVRCP support is spot on and actually works.
I use it to download podcast, Stream and Organize Internet Radio, It remebers the last position in all my Audiobooks, of course MP3's But best of all is the Itunes integration (has a helper App that runs on the Desktop of PC that runs alongside Itunes to sync playlist)
What it does not do is handle video for that I use Core player. Give it a try they just lowered the price too.
