I have Upgraded custom ROM 6.1 with Radio 1.48.10. When I use Vodafone SIM it just searching for Network or shows No Services. In the same device I'm using other SIM from different ISP provider no issues. And I used same Vodafone SIM in different device no issue.
I have changed all the possible Radio from Hermes Wiki. Problem still persist.
What is the problem SIM or Device or ROM or Radio
It is Imate JasJam device.

Is it 'unlocked' ?
Yes the device is unlocked and I been upgrading ROM from WM 5 to WM 6.1 and 6.5.
Strange problem can't figure out what is the issue. Only Vodafone SIM is not working in this device with Any ROM or Radio.
I'm trying to downgrade to Original WM 5 of Imate JasJam but getting 206 Update Error.

I upgraded the Radio Stack to 4.21, but from then on, I cannot find my network in the list. It cannot connect to the provider. Having only 2 providers in Malta (Vodafone and Go Mobile), I tried to replace my sim card with a vodafone one and it does work. But with Go Mobile, from the time I upgraded, it cannot connect to it.

I'm seeing this strange thing. I have received a Qtek 2020, and I tried to use it with my sim (TIM, Italian Telecom) but I can't see network service, under any circumnstance. Then I swapped my sim card with a Vodafone IT one, and I've seen full signal immediately. Trying to change to another operator like Italian "Wind", took me just as the very 1st step: no signal at all. I tried to change radio rom/os rom, and running unlock tools (they said it's all unlocked). Nothing changed.
Anyone can help me?

I've tried *all* of the Radio ROMs for the device (found on buzz's site). Also for the OS rom and extended, when in 2003. Just don't know what else to do!

It seems that works with the old ones as well as with the new ones (my sister has a 6-years-old card from Vodafone, and it WORKS!), but just from that vendor.

Hi, i recently got this MDA II from a friend and finally succeeded in updating it to WM5 and ROM Version 1.72xxxxx T-Mobile (can't remember all the Numbers).
It work's perfectly for everything i wanted it for (Navi, etc.), except for phone calls. After entering the PIN it just says: Searching or No Service.
I tried a SIM from T-Mobile Austria (from where the MDA comes), and also one from Hutchinson Austria (3) - Same Prob. I also tried to unlock it with the unlock tool located on this frorum. I got no error but it told me that the phone already seems to be unlocked.
It's not a big deal for me because i never intended to use it as a phone replacement, but somehow it's bothering me a bit.
I don't know if the ROM upgrade from 1.6xxx to 1.72xxx is the Problem. To tell the true i don't even know from where I got this newer ROM. The only thing i know it was not from T-Mobile Austria.
I already found a Version from T-Mobile Austria (RUU16008GER_TMobile), but this Version is very old and I don't know if it's worth the risk of downgrading.
Can someone please give me an advice on what to do?

first of all then 1.66 and 1.72 are not wm5 roms at all they are just the last offical roms for these devices and they are wm2003 roms
second then they are roms not radiostacks (radiostacks are the software for the gsm module)

rom if nk.nbf is present in the dir
and
radiostack if Radio_.nbf is present in the dir
so if you want to upgrade the radiostack along with the rom
one just make sure both of the files are present in the dir
if one wish to upgrade 1 of the 2 simply remove the other nbf file
same deal with extended rom

Ok, i tried the 1.19 Radio Stack together with the Hima_-_Helmi_AKU3.5_ROM_SP2 ROM.
The update progress proceeded fine but i still have the same problem.
edit: Wow after 5 Minutes i've got a connection with A1 (right now i'm trying a Hutschinson SIM witch connects via GPRS automatically to A1)
Ok, i tried Roms Stack 1.19, 1.17 and 1.08.
On some certain locations i get a signal, but in general the signal is very poor.
I'm not shure but maybe the couse of the problem is the phones hardware itself, and not the software?

but the htc phones i had have in general had a poor signal then nokia and the likes
and poor conversation quality
you could try giving other sim cards a go as some older sims have had issues with htc phones in the past

...but I am wondering if the SPL and GSM version which I found for Tornado (HTC_Tornado_Radio_02.61.01) can fit into Typhoon ? As for the hardware, these are quite similar devices, arent they?

The relation radio rom - ril (radio interface layer) depends on what OS you are using. There are some issues with the wm5, wm6 and wm6.1 roms.
The SIM card also changes the quality depending of the radio rom - ril.
One suggestion is to ask the operator to change the SIM card, specially if you have a 64k sim.

I had before the wm2003se working on my cell phone, but after upgrading to wm6 I experienced many problems. I downgrade to wm2003se and everything was ok again... I upgrade again to wm6 and the problems were back. So I asked my operator to change the sim card and everything was solved. Before asking the operator I flashed different roms, changed many registry entries but nothing worked. So I hope it can help...
I wanted to try out moving from Orange to three so borrowed a sim card from someone who just recieved a new one for a sim only deal. The Sim though is not recognised.
