Had a look through the forums but nothing obvious has stuck out to me.
I have a G1 and bearing in mind I am a windows OS user mainly...it's fairly new to me
Problem is, I cannot call out or recieve calls.
Calling out : Tries but then beeps once and says hangup
Calling in: Could not connect
Baffled as there is reception bars showing.
Downgraded to RC7 but no luck
IT has not been rooted at the moment though I feel the customer has done this before. It was on CRB43 prior to the downgrade.
Signal strength shows signal so it's fine there.
Appreciate any help on this

I should note that the unit has been checked on checkmend and it is >not< barred/blocked and the error on hangup is call ended

so here i go
i have just received my jasjar from SBE after them having it for over two month (complete morons over there dont EVER use then unless you are obliged to). got it back, worked fine for a week and now, it will ONLY log on to UMTS networks for example im sitting at home i have a U symbol and 2 bars signal strength. I go into phone settings and select GSM instead of auto and it stays searching for 10 minutes then says no signal, i can get it to join the network if i select manually my network but i can then make no calls or texts or log on to the gprs network. i am using pocket phone thingy for the today screen. and here comes the wierd part. when im out of signal in a non umts area the today screen plug in reports a signal strength ie 63% and above it it states attempting voice connection. and HERE THE REALLY WEIRD PART. i still receive my cell broadcasts when out of gsm signal. ie its searching and ill get a 'text' saying 0208, 01829 .
Please help and dont tell me i have to send it back to the idiots at SBE

It could be a hardware problem from what I can see
noooo that is not what i wanted to hear. argh any other ideas.?
How about performing a hard reset and don't install anything. Try to observe if it will act the same.
can anybody help me find a repair centre that isnt THE STUPID SBE in kent as they are ineducated and innefecient.

I was hoping someone could be of assistance.
I try to carry out solutions for myself, but I can no longer go on!
I have had the Hero since July/August. I unlocked it from Orange and now using o2 since I bought the phone). I changed settings etc and have since used data network, email etc okay although it has always been intermittent.
However, I have always had a problem with dropped calls. It constantly does it - won't phone through. Also texts don't always send. Presently, I can't do anything - calls, internet etc - even with full bars.
I may have fully bars as I do now, yet I call myself and it goes to answerphone. I have so many missed calls. Can anyone shed any light.
I am on firmware 1.5 if that makes any difference. My signal strength atm is -63bm and all is in service.
I can't even access the Internet at the moment either.
can you say, whats your "Build Number", Baseband and Kernel?
You can see this at same place, where you see your Firmware Version (Thats Android Version)
Hi - Been loving my new DHD however have this intermittent problem when making a phonecall all i get is a single beep and 'call ending' message. Today while outdoors it just refused to connect but working ok now.
It rings once at the receiver then cuts off so I was told.
I have plenty of signal and the person I'm calling can call me back after getting the one ring and wondering whats going on after the I've tried several times!

Ok did some googling and found a thread for the old Desire which talks about the same problem and relates it to the H network in certain areas. Seems to be a vodafone problem? Happens in airports and other specific areas around the country.
Recommended to switch to 2G. I'll have to try that when down in that area again.
I think its a Vodafone Problem...am on vodafone in india...on all my 3 phones [click,DHD,N95] having the same problem in certain places....So definetly an Operator problem

I bought a secondhand cellphone two days ago. I live in Guadalajara, Mexico and it's registered with TELCEL.
When I bought it I made a call and it didn't have problems, but then I realized that it always lost the signal after finishing a call. It recovered the signal after rebooting the phone but after the first call it would lose the signal again. When it had signal I could surf the Internet, send and receive sms and calls.
I've been reading on the forum but I didn't find a similar case. Yesterday I rooted the phone and today I noticed that I can't make a call even if I reboot it. Now I don't have LTE data and I can't receive/send sms. When I say I can't make a call is because when I try it the phone sends the message "Not registered on network".
I'm wondering if the phone has been stolen and it has been reported. Does anyone know if it is possible? And if I can fix it. I don't have much experience with samsung.
I hope that someone can help me, I haven't modified the modem because I'm afraid to brick the phone. I restored the phone and it keep without the possibility of make calls.

I have the same problems here on Cuba.
I have 2 phones SGH-I337M and with both it is similar.
It is not that he loses the signal, because the indicator show full strength.
Yesterday create a thread in case somebody has any idea of how to solve it. I have seen other S4's models that work correctly here.

I bought the essential from a one week ago, since the first time i've installed the android P beta and using the phone normaly for 3 or 4 days, but since tomorrow, my phone stops to make or received calls, my data was ok, but when i call somebody the phone shows me a message "Mobile Network is Unavaliable", and if somebody try to call me, the call just drops.
I keep myself look at the signal bars on statusbar, and when i make a call, the signal just disapear and the "lte" signal goes too, but it's back right after the call drops.
any advices?
I live in Brazil
should i downgrade to Oreo even after my phone works correctly a few days?

Try settings - network and internet - mobile network- advanced - set preferred network type to Global.
That should help..

I'm also having issues. on AT&T it will say "mobile data disabled by your carrier" only in certain areas... reset phone fixes temporarily
I ended up changing carrier...
too much troubles...
