after flashing to about every hero rom on this site i've decided to return to a cupcake based rom, because the lag just kills me, but i really like the special dialer on the roms which searches for the contact while i dial, is there a way to get this file and install it?
Use a Rogers ROM. This is a Dream rom, so it's lightning fast and stable, since it's made for the hardware.
Has the upgraded dialer, exchange support, better camera, and a few other things. I prefer Ravenges.

Hi,
Ive searched several threads but couldnt find any post, or didnt understand everything, and I dont really know the exact name of what im searching for.
Anyway, I have vodafone magic and was on the nk02 r4 ion rom which runs smooth but then I tested the Fatal1ty_Hero-Full_v1.4-signed which was good but crashed all too often and was bit laggy from time to time so I decided to go back to the nk02 r4 ion, BUT now I wonder if there is any way to get these applications to my ion instead (or do i have to install jerpelea wwe hero rom and install them?):
Phonebook (People app?)
Dialer?
The htc-clock ?
The most important app that I really want to use is the phonebook with the facebook & flick integration (photos, status, birthday etc). Can I somehow push them to my nk02 r4 ion?
Also, is it possible/easy to get the xt9 swedish dicitonary from hero/htc to the ion so i can use with phone keyboard?
Thank you,
One lost soul in the android rom jungle
i'd love to figure this out as well, i just need a few cents off the sense ui
As far as have seen until now, not all Hero/SenseUI applications were converted to use on stock android. I have seen the mail app for instance and some turn on/off widgets, but nothing more. However, there are quite a few "remakes" of the widgets in the market, that (nearly) look like the Hero ones. Beautiful widgets, Call Dock Bar, Pure Grid calendar widget, Pure messenger widget, ... to name a few. But you won't get the smooth sense feeling of course!
Hi..
Is it possible to get multitouch on any ROM.
If not is there someone that have a list of ROMs with multitouc..
Would like a ROM without sens but with multitouch..
I'm not sure which roms have it but I know that Cyanogen rom has it. Use google there is a wiki that explains the installation once you've rooted the phone. I like this rom because it has it's own updater for new releases which is much more convenient then having to reinstall all new versions of the rom.
I'm stuck on allas Rogers ROM for now. I'm fully blown away by it's speed. It has multitouch and double tab to zoom in browser (not in other applications!). It's the only one i know with full exchange support too. SenseUI is definately not compareable to this one. I also tried Cyans which is real cool too, but i need full exchange support for contacts, calendar...
I have no idea where to start, with there being so many different custom ROMS on this site.
Can anybody recommend a good, reliable, ROM to install?
I'm totally new to Windows Mobile so I have no idea which have a good reputation.
Not looking for any features in particular, although I'd like to keep HTC Sense.
If any ROMs have fixed the SMS lag, or more importantly, the stuck in outbox problem, then that would be great. Even the new SMS fix hasn't stopped them getting stuck for me, and now HTC messaging seems to crash.
If you are bored of the stock one and want to try a lighter custom ROM then my suggestion is:
1. Topix 1.1.6
2. Kumar's Leo 2.1

There's apparently a fix for the SMS problem coming this month, from HTC. You can always remove HTC messaging, as it's that that causes the problem - not the OS or the phone.
If I were you, I'd stick with what you've got, unless you're looking for something specific. Bear in mind that applying a new ROM may invalidate your warranty.
Otherwise, just read up in the ROM section and find one you like the look and sound of. The only way to know is to try
Is the latest Artemis rom worthwhile?

The Artemis HD2 ROM thread currently has 39 pages- you'd be much better advised reading that and posting a question there.
Hi,
I am currently running cursor sense and though I find its a very stable rom, I really dislike the sense UI. I am wondering if anyone can share their thoughts on a non sense UI using the new radio?
Thanks
Djs
I loved Cursorsenses Rom but I also hated senseui. Tried stuff like MarsDroid but way too many bugs. I just went back to the old radio.
Although I wish I gave this a try. Disable SenseUI and just try using it normally. I alrdy switched back so I didn't try it...
Hi
I have a rooted HTC Hero (from Telus, Canada)
I installed Villainrom 10.3.2, but I don't like Sense that much, so I tought of changing to a vanilla ROM. Especially, I would like to have the application "contact" instead of "people" and the vanilla google phone. I don't care that much about facebook integration and I don't tweet. I simply want something fast and usable.
I can't figure what the main differences between ezHero and VanillaEclair are? Which one is more popular? I saw there is also SuperHero which is supposed to be a mix of sense and vanilla.
Any recommendation?
I also have telus hero,i use ezhero, I've gone though them all, love vanilla roms this is the best I've come across... If you don't like android keyboard, swype and htc_ime keyboards can be found with a quick google search
Sent from my EzHero using XDA App
thanks
I tried it and it works well so far.
Only downside, when I select the French Canada locale, the keyboard is in AZERTY mode (as most French speakers use, but we in Canada use QWERTY).
But I don't know any ROM which has it fine, except the original canadian ROMs.
I found a workarround: install the anykeyboard app.
Next thing I would like to know, is there a way, when changing of ROM, to do not loose all my settings and installed apps?
I heard that ez hero is fabulous!
what is the most vanilla ROM? I prefer adding apps myself, most ROMS here seems to be really customized and it seems to add bugs.
