Recently I bought HTC Magic, Vodafone, and got some nice paid apps. Since I like playing with these fantastic ROM's offered here on XDA, would I be able to download them again if I flash my device? How's that implemented on the market?

I've just purchased my Hero in Vietnam which comes surprisingly without Market Application installed. All I got is the SlideME app which brought me up to only a few apps. One of my friend bought a Hero too and it came w no Market too.
We talked to HTC guys here and it looks like they never are selling anything and am left with no clue about this at all.
Should there is anyway to activate the app?

Why is it that Google don't want the Asians to use Market in the first place?
Certain Hero in certain region come with no Market. If you want the Market, flash it with another ROM. You may want to check this post for a newbie friendly step by step flashing http://is.gd/3WQD7
Guys, it looks like Hero for South East Asia will not have Market app installed due to some licensing issue probably.
I guess I will be hooking up with hacking the root and flashing a new ROM to make life easier.

I have an HK Hero that currently can't be rooted and even though it came with market my access to the market is severely limited. I have resorted to ripping apps out of different ROMs but I'm still looking for an updated Google Maps with Lattitude

I'm new to Android having got my HTC Tattoo during the week.
I'm wondering if there is any way to get Android 2 (Eclair) onto my Tattoo? I've googled for it but there's only instructions for the Hero.
I don't care if its a vanilla ROM without Sense UI. I'm just looking for an update to help improve battery life and bluetooth functionality (plus I like to have all the latest versions of things ).
I emailed HTC about it and they said they couldn't confirm if the Tattoo was getting the update (which probably means it won't...)
Also, I'd rather not use a buggy beta ROM .

PS: I know people managed to get a V2 ROM onto the G1 by rooting but I presume it's differen for the Tattoo because the different screen size, addition of FM radio etc.

I've owned XDA's for a while, but before joiing this site, which wasnt too long ago I didn't know there were such things as custom ROMs.
I was wondering, what are the advantages of flashing custom roms? is it mainly aesthetic? Or is there great performance increase, i was reading about one that apparently makes the HD2 use it's full 1ghz capability.
Also, I've my HD2 on contract with 02, is it possible for me to flash it or will i have trouble with 02 network if i do?
Any help i'd love thanks in advance. And sorry if these have been answered elsewhere I tried looking.

Is swype available on the market? As an official downloadable keyboard of some sort? no need for root to use it right?

Android Market should be in your local currency.
Some people have found problems with Swype on stock DHD, but SlideIt works fine.

Yes, instead of spending cash after trade in after cash trying to find a good MP/Phone combination, I bought this Media Player for good music and pocket Organiser purposes BNIB £140.. and ill just get a cheap Wildfire S or a last years WP7 as a phone.
A few questions:
-Am I right in thinkiing I can do anything with it as i can with a SGS apart from make a phone call, such as mod it, flash it and custom it with EX Launcher, Cyanogen or anything from the Google Market.
- Does anyone know what the latest English language firmware. I found this on SamFirmware,

but the 2.3.6 are for italy and sweden, when i do a search for UK firmware, the latest one is 2.3.5.. XXKPF, which says France on SamF.. can anyone advise.
