Unknown SIM Error - Problem - Touch GSM General

Hello,
I have following problem:
I've been running Onyx 4.4.3. for some weeks and all was ok; than restarting my device it asked of the Pin but than it just flickered and asked for the Pin again...sometimes saying the Pin was wrong, or Unknown SIM Error, or that I ought to put in the PUK. So after trying the hole rebooting, taking the battery out, cleaning the SIM stuff, I installed Onyx 5.0.1. in the hope that it was an software error but the error is still there.
Can anybody help me with this?
Thanks!
ilan

I think you have to bring down your sim card to carrier (e-plus) to get a new one.
Or you can call your carrier to for help and just tell them what problem you have.
Before that, you can take out your sim card, on the phone and backup all your contacts, calenders and email first.
and before that, try to flash to Onyx 4.6 Jr or Micro to verify that the problem is not your phone, but the sim.
On top of that, have you tried to put your sim card to other phones and see whether its working?

[Q] Galaxy S4 SIM Card Removed/ Invalid SIM

I have my Galaxy S4 for a while now, and through out its history I have messed with it a lot.
I think it first happend when I updated my ROM to the newest Omega version, and every once in a while I was getting a Sim Card remobed error, and only restart now option - after each restart it worked normally until the next time.
Straight after I switched phone company and got a new sim, I started getting Invalid Sim card error after the forced restart, but not every time. To get it to work I had to restart the phone many times until it decided to work.
At first I thought the problem was with the Firmware, and tried to return to stock - but it didn't work.
Than I thought, maybe it is a hardware issue, replacing the sim slot didn't help.
The last option is replacing the SIM but it makes no sense because it works on otger phones, and the problem started with my previous SIM card.

Simunlock Problems

Hey there,
I got a I9505 that doesn't detect my simcard (if i put it in it still say pls insert simcard like there is none). so my guess was carrierlocked...
It also doesn't ask for an networkunlock code .. so i didn't wanted to buy a code on these websides because i didn't know where to enter the code.
Well I've tried the trick with the *#0011# and it doesn't go into the Service Menu.
The phone is on 5.0.1 could this be the problem ? Is there a way to downgrade?
Or do i have to falsh the modem in any way?
Till now i've just changed the FW with Odin to the DTB Version.
I'm kind of scared to try other things if I'm not sure what they do...
I'm really sorry if the solution is in a thread i havend found or just overlooked
thanks for your time and help
A properly working SIM lock would recognize the presence of the SIM card, and when you unlocked the phone, would prompt you to enter the unlock code. Therefore, a carrier lock is not the source of your problem. Unfortunately, yours is a hardware problem, and based upon your description, it's a motherboard failure, rather than a SIM card tray failure. It cannot be the SIM card tray because a SIM card tray failure would not ask you to insert the SIM. Instead you would have a circle with slash in the notification bar to the right.

Thank You for your help,
So in the mean time I successful downgraded to 4.4.2 (cyagogen)(and upgraded again) found a soulution to flash and access the modem so i could do the trick with *#0011#...but it's still not working.
I just don't to belive that its a hardware problem. Is there anyway of another software Simlock?
Because the Network Conectivity bar is showing 3 bars.
I got it (not so) cheap from ebay, so could it be that the imei is block in the network ?
Thanks agian for your help
IMEI could definitely be the cause of your problem, especially if you actually do have a signal.
It is showing 3bars but not the H for HSDPA but it also shows those bars if no sim is insert so...
The imei ist blocked ?
Guess there is no way to change it
Sent from my Nexus 4 using XDA Free mobile app
If no SIM card is inserted you wouldn't have any signal, but a missing SIM card indicator. This behavior confirms to me that you have a hardware problem of some sort. You need to have the device looked at, because software is unlikely to be the source of the problem.

Phone asking for simcard's PIN even though there is none inserted + MMI error

This is going to be embarrasing story.
I bought new Nexus 6p, and it required Nano Sim card. Being genious me, i've decided to cut my old card and insert it in the sim tray.
It did not work and asked me for sim card's PIN code (which i never set up). Figuring i must have simply broken the card, i decided to boot the phone without any card inside.
Now, when i start the phone, i get the same lockscreen right after Android Logo.
I have tried factory reset, and inserting brand new nano card from different carrier, but none of those it did work.
Using the emergency call dialler I tried entering PUK code *05PUKnewPIN*newPIN# and i recieve "Connection problem or invalid mmi code" error, with or without nano sim card.
Most of the fixes for MMI error are assuming that user can successfuly launch the phone as well.
I have yet to try putting "," or "+" somewhere in the USSD code, this is supposed to "ignore any error messages and perform the code" but i am slightly pessimistic about this.
I thought that maybe the pins were damaged, but they all seem to be allright.
I am a bit conflicted about flashing the image, since i am not sure if unlocking and locking bootloader for flashing will impact my warranty?
I have tried already flashing 6.0.1 stock on top of the stock 6.0.0 the phone came with, but I was still unsuccessful, since i did not enable USB Debugging on the phone and when performing flash-all command in ADB fails due to locked bootloader (that can be unlocked from the settings).
Tried fastboot flash unlock (since fastboot oem unlock did not work at all) as well but it did not work for me.
Based on this, those are the possibilites i consider:
*Try to get MMI error code fixed
*Flash the stock android once i get around locked bootloader
*check the SIM card slot for any dents on pins
*contact carrier and check if maybe it was somehow locked on their side
*Return the phone on warranty and hope that it will be accepted (i expect major hurdles along the way, since the phone was imported to Poland), this would imply that i should not interfere in hardware and software.
I feel that if i get one of mentioned above issues, rest of them should be a walk in the park.
I am really looking for feedback from you guys, since i seem to be unable to deal with on my own.
EDIT: Solved! Found an official google nexus helpline (support.google.com/store/answer/6301411?hl=en) from there someone contacted me and i was given directions on how to solve this issue. If someone finds this thread i needed to do another factory reset

Sim card not detected

Hey, I've had my Moto X Pure (XT1575) for a bit over a year now, and it's been great up until I updated it to 7.0 a week ago. It has been saying "No SIM card" and I have been unable to do much with it. Rebooting the phone will fix the issue and cell service will work for for about 5 minutes, then it disconnects again. Taking the sim card out and putting it back in will also fix it for about 5 minutes. I have cleaned the sim card and port, but that has not helped. I have also tried factory resetting the phone but the issue is still there, even during setup. The phone is running stock android with a locked bootloader. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Replace the SIM card...
Check if another SIM card is working fine with the phone or not. If yes, then you need to follow what acejavelin has suggested above.
