When I first bought my phone I noticed that some of my phone videos I hade receieved on phone(via bluetooth from a previous phone) were not playing on the touchflo album mode. What used to happen was that with some of the videos they would not play and with others the tab that comes on during a video(ie stop,play etc at bottom of screen during landscape mode) would stay on the screen even when i closed the album(a bug which forced me to reset the device). I noticed this did not happen when i used the video player that came with the standard ROM.1.14 or so.
I now have Duttys V3.9 ROM and everytime I play an old video(recorded on my previous phoe and not on htc) 3 things can happen
1)the video does not play and goes t home page
2)I get distrotion on home page
3) I get the video tab on bottom of screen which does not go away after program closed(resulting in reboot)
The stock video player tha I used t get on my 1.14 ROM does not apear to be available with Dutys ROM
Any help appreciated.

Album cant play every file format, try a 3rd party player like coreplayer. thats what i use.
any free alternatives?

I'm a long time user of Core Player as my primary music player on my PPC. I noticed when I installed it on my X1, V1.2.5 and now the new V1.3 release also have issues with album art. I've copied my itunes music with album art embedded to my X1. When I select an album to play (not every time but often) the album art is displayed upside down or totally corrupted (green slightly diagonal stripes across the screen). If I play an album that has no art, the last album art is displayed. At this point the X1 display freezes, music still plays but no other response. The only way out is soft reset. My fix has been to revert to V1.2.4. With this version no album art is displayed but everything else works fine (playing videos aside). I had none of these problems with my old Dell Axim X51v (VGA screen) with V1.2.4 or V1.2.5 so I'm thinking this is a WVGA issue. Is anyone else having this problem (I have logged a ticket with Corecodec but have received no response.)?
I'm having the exact same issue and it's driving me nuts. I wish there was a way to disable album art, at least during the time that this bug is existing.

My solution pending a response from CoreCodec has been to revert back to V1.2.4. No album art, plays nicely when other applications are active. It would seem to me CorePlayer is not fully WVGA compliant or the graphic hardware support issues mentioned related to playing video extend further.
The only irritation that exists (and it applies to V1.2.5 and V1.3) as well is the play order is sometimes changed if I play from and album selection as opposed to going into the album file and selecting ALL to play. Haven't worked out a solution to that one yet.

same problem. Go to menu/Tools/References then select Video page set to DirectDraw. Fixed mine

I have coreplayer 1.25, and want to upgrade to 1.3, do i have to pay again for 1.3 or is there an update function, ive searched everywhere with no results....
You should have received an email from the provider you originally purchased CP from advising you of the V1.3 update and providing you with a download link. To answer your question, its a free upgrade.
Downloading the upgrade now. Does yours also freeze when playing videos sometimes? Mine does when trying to fast forward sometimes or changing from one to another. Also, the youtube never worked for me does it now?
yeah changing it to directdraw din help much. in fact it was slower for my friend's unit.

I am wondering of anyone on here knows of a plugin or app that shows what WMP is playing on the today screen. This would be handy as I often play music in the background but i would like what is playing and the remaining track time displayed. Also if that information was a link to reopen WMP that would be great! Any thoughts? I'm suprised WinMo doesn't do this anyway.

No that doesn't help. I barely use the Panel's the today screen is what I want to use. Any advice?
Serach Google for Spb ToPlay. It's no longer officially available from SPB but you can find it outsourced. It can block your phone however when you first use it, but for me it worked after a softreset. Also includes controls for WMP.

if you flash roms,then try itje's 6.5 rom, the new today screen (titanium) has a music section where you can browse through music, click once to play, click again to pause, and swipe left of right to browse songs, it automatically opens wmp in the background and the right soft button opens it.
imo titanium for 6.5 is a big step forward!

ive got a problem and i realy dont get it fixed.
somehow i fell in love with the Media panel. Navigation is easy and fast. same goes for TouchFLO. But as soon i install a custom ROM which has Touchflo on it, the Mediapanel doesn plays Videos in Landscape anymore. is somehow fixed the problem by editing the File Extensions and just set every Movie file type to the wmplayer.exe. it worked ... but not like it should.
movies are played in Landscape now, but
1. the colors on the screen edges are messed up
2. it usualy lags like stupid. especialy when i played a movie with teh HTCAlbum before.
does any1 know how to fix this?
ok, i now importeted the Complete File registry from the original R2 rom ... i didnt fixed the problem. and movies are still not played in Landscape sometimes.
help plz? playing movies with the regular Media player or the HTC album is way to complicated (finding the desired file)

I've a huge problem with the music player on the hd2. It stops after EVERY song. I alsways have to turn on the phone and manually hit play or next to play the next sond. That's quite annoying!
It doesn't matter if I select an album, a playlist or whatver. Even if I turn on repeat-mode, the sond is only played once.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution?
I noticed the same thing, and I already updated to 1.48...
There's a partial solution anyway: if you don't press the power off button to activate the stand by mode, but instead if you let stand by mode to activate by itself, it works correctly.

I've had the same thing happen when I let standby mode activate itself, also have an issue where the MP3s stutter, small 1 second breaks in the music.
Few people use the embedded mp3 player coz it's bad and very slow, especially when you have a massive library.
You should try another player: Kinoma (freeplay is free), CorePlayer, Nitrogen (free), etc...
err, starting an extra application for that doesn't sound very attractive to me. Actually I like the fact that this is integrated into sense.
Regarding the speed: I've ~10 GB of music. The HTC player handles them very well
After i read this, i tested it on my device.
The first time the player stopes after the first track,
but if you press play again and you come to the end, then it switch to the next track without a problem and play it.

I have the repeat button on and it doesnt' stop!! And the built in mp3 player is better than WMP because it actually shows chinese characters properly for me... And the interface looks nice...
I noticed the music player in htc sense only looks at the music folder on the storage card, is there any way to add more folders of music or must I insert all my music there and it will automatically be "synced" every time a new song/folder of songs is added?
On mine, the HTC music player looks for all audio files on both the storage card and the phone itself (anywhere in 'My Documents'). It even picks up ring tones I've added and the 'sample' music on the phone. So, I'm not sure if this is a setting of some kind, but mine seems to do what you want, and your's seems to do what I want.

I have the exactly same problem my friend nd it's irritating. For now, the only solution I have is the use of bluethoot earphones where I can skip the music on it, but as soon as I put classic earphones it does the same problem. I'm gonna try another player I think. it's a pity because HTC player is starting to become gorgeous
track order
Has anyone noticed track order problems. I've started a thread on this. It's really doing my head in.
Same track order problem here. Posted it to HTC-support, they have no solution. Every other player doesn't have this problem.
This happens alot when I try to make my music player go to landscape mode...
I have searched the forums, and couldn't find anything on it, so hopefully I didn't just miss it...but hopefully there is an easy fix. And this has happened on the 2 different rom's I have tried...
That happens to mine also, but quite rarely. Quite often no music is found and the music player hangs while showing the album cover. After a reboot everything is fine again. I was hoping for the 1.66 rom...Anybody else?

i've seen album no music found maybe three or four times, i found if you go into library, all songs tab, , set a song playing (which loads all songs into now playing), switch back to album view and the albums view repopulated itself.
