There is a program I use called Batti. It is freeware and you can find it here:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-batti-v2-1.html
It places a colorful battery status bar across the top of the screen and has some basic customization options to change the color and appearance.

How to modify registery?

In the official WM5 ROM from I-Mate the battery icon is shown on the title bar and clock is hidden beneath it. Is there a way to bring it down to systray and make the clock visible? Please help.
download Batti v2.1 from http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/batti.shtml and install it on your universal. In the settings for the app, uncheck "Show Battery Icon in Top Bar". That will display the clock in the top bar!
download Battery Watch v1.03 from http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/batterywatch.shtml and install it on your universal to get the battery icon on your systray!
They're both freeware, so, enjoy!!
I found the answer to the part of my question at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry about adding battery icon to systray and I would like similar procedure for its removal from title bar. Thanks for your help I will be certainly using your addon untill I get my desired answer. Thanks a lot once again.
I would recommend having Batti as a must-have application if you like battery stats! The rest is up to you of course, i always prefer moderate-functionality apps to messing with the registry myself! They're small, easier to handle, removable and just provide more functionality that reg-editting!!
I used Batti but it didn't removed battery icon. What happens is that when app installs it is already configured not to show battery icon but the icon shows so I enabled it just to give a try and as a result two icons were shown then I unchecked it and only the new icon went away. The original icon remained there. Registery hack is a must!!!
weird, now i'm wondering how i got rid of the battery icon I'll let you know if i figure that out
That's really very nice !!!!! Figure it out soon please !
Still awaiting response. Please somebody help me soon.

[IDEA] Assign wallpaper according to battery life

We have a Diamond Background Changer which changes wallpaper according to time of the day. Would it be great also if we also have a wallpaper changer that can changes background according to battery life remaining?
Probably we can also 'remove' the battery indicator at the top taskbar (freeing up space for a cleaner look) if such an app is possible.
* Just a suggestion. I do not have any programming knowledge hence i don't know if this is even possible.
Thank you
Would you really install it and use it?
sure its, even quite "easy" to do, just adapt the mortscript from the daylight background changer, to take the batterystatus as input instead of the time...
i remember i saw some commands in the mortscript manual whic make it possible to read out battery status...
but on the other hand, why would you want it? you already have a battery indicator right on top of all things....
having a changing background to indicate status doesnt seem logical to me...
Well Ithink it would be very handy if the background would slowly change from green to red using backgrounds in according colours...
i think it's a great idea.
of course i would use it, haha. I have to admit that i'm an app / rom junkie.
Anyway i was thinking if it would be great to remove the whole top and bottom taskbars for a totally 'windowmobileless' look. BUt to do that we need something to replace the battery/ network/ connection/ sound indicators.
The Quickstart menu shouldn't be a problem as i have high hopes for 'touchlaunch'
I actually think this is not a bad idea at all. If you look at some of the colour battery icons, this kind of makes sense. The moment your phone is activated for whatever reason, you can immediately see that status of the battery, without having to look at the (rather small) icon on the taskbar
Hence.. Hello to developers.. any takers?
Great idea, I would use it too! We could add a corresponding battery symbol on each wallpaper, like in S2U2 but smaller
Cool idea, I think also if the wallpaper could change based on the weather that would be really cool.

transparent task par and start menu bar

Could any body get me an application or theme to make my taskbar and start menu bar transparent
I know of a app that will hide the taskbar and bottom bar but when you say transparent you mean invisible??
ok tell me about the app which hide them
Look for Vijay apps, you will find what you need.
but could any one heard about an app that makes them transparent like wm6.5
not possible in WM6 & 6.1
you could try WAD 3, but you'll have to pay for it, and it'll drain your battery faster...
Wisbar Advance can do it (in a way). Use a part of your wallpaper as your taskbar. Not transparant, but perfectly blending with your wallpaper.
Example: http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11747
As said... not possible in WM6.x.

Shift taskbar icon

I installed "QuickMenu 2.8" in my PDA, but the battery icon overlaps to the clock on the taskbar. How can I shift the icon (clock or battery, or another)?
Tnx everybody!
Do not know how your taskbar looks like......What I use is Battclock......http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612083 .....which displays battery and clock above each other but various customizable options are possible. Basically it can cover current icons to give a better look.
Yes you can change position of icons via registry.....see attached example under 4.2 location http://touchlockpro.sourceforge.net/BSettings.html#4.10 ...but I warn you it is quite some manual work......
But you don't knows were could I found the registry value of the wm6.5 tasbar icon? becouse i don't wanna intall the taskbar program raccomanded by you.
Apart from the link I sent you I have not an overview of where to find registry for all other icons you want to move. Did it myself for the battery only.....
But your battery icon was installed by your program...isn't it? If I'll Know where is the value of my icon battery about "Quick Menu" Program, I've resolved my problem!
See if you have in registry HKCU\software\quickmenu. And than you have to find an X or Y indication for position of battery icon......play around with these values to see if it works. Note: soft reset after every change.....
I tried it...the key exists but inside there's nothing that calls to mind the X or Y Icon battery value....sigh!

[STOCK] See the battery "AND" the clock.

I noticed that under setting> Home> Display clock in taskbar, that this give you option of having ONLY your digital clock "OR" your battery icon. Not both.
Without installing something like battclock, etc, Is there a way to make both the clock and batter to be present but not overlapping?
Thanks.
Battclock seems to be the only way.

i refuse to use it because the background is not able to go transparent. its always some solid color. And plus, it uses more RAM.
rebump 10char
Does anyone know if SPB PocketPlus battery bar works on HD2? I used to use this on my TytnII, but I haven't tried it yet on my HD2.
personally im using the "Display clock in taskbar" option along with VistaHide Battery Gauge, so i got a nice little bar on the top of the screen showing the battery and the clock in the taskbar.
(it looks something like this)

lol. i only see the battery in the task bar. the clock isnt' the clock is on manila.
the vistahide battery meter suggestion is meaningful (as you can see in the screenshot) because the battery can now be represented by the 1-2 pixel line across the top of the screen, leaving the default battery meter free to be changed to the time/clock.
however, i understand your requirement because i am also searching for this solution. i remember back in the days of WM6.0 and WM6.1, the "display the clock on the title bar in all programs" worked a bit better. it would show battery when on the home screen (because your home screen might display a better and bigger clock) and it would show the clock when an application/program was in the foreground. i really miss that behavior in WM6.5, though WM6.5.x handles this situation a bit better if i remember correctly.
the link on my previous post, is just the vistahide battery gauge ofc.
i have attached the screen of my phone this time to check the whole thing.
the bar shows that i have more or less 50% battery left
i dont like the rainbow looks. is it possible to make the meter one solid color? anyone?
any solution to this guys?
