Remove Simlock

Hy!
Does anybody know wich way the SIMLOCK works?
Is it a software (Rom) or part of the GSM module? (Firmware?)
Please post informations if available ...

But i cant really understand how the LOCK really works.
Is the lock is in the radio bootloader - right?
And is it possible to change the code from a unlocked device
to a locked once?

Cingular CAB Files, Please

Hello everyone, I have lkooked through this forum for the past few days trying to find the Cingular CAB Files, so I can download them. If anyone can point me ot the right place and or link, I would greatly appreciate it. I have the ROM and tried some of the tools posted all over this board, but was unable to get to them. I have an iMate K-Jam with Rom 2.x, so I am unable to use the CID unlocking tools in order to use the Cingular ROM and I can not downgrade to the previous Imate K-Jam ROM either, so I have tried everything I knew how to do. Again, I would appreciate it, if someone could please post or point me in the right direction for the Cingular 8125 CAB Files. Thanks

THank you, yes, I have looked a thtose pages you posted in the link several times, however, there are still no CAB files for Cingular, yes they are baked into the ROM update, but I can not update since CID unlock does not work on AKU2 ROMS and I can not downgrade either. So what I really need are the Cingular 8125 Extended ROM Cab files.

Some people say that when you upgrade to AKU2 the phone is locked again and you cannot unlock it. Some people also say that you can unlock it prior to AKU2 and it will remain unlocked when you upgrade.

SPV M3100 - can I de-orange it?

Hi,
I have just baught a HERMES (SPV M3100). Orange has set it up so I cannot use many websites (googlemaps etc). What do I need to de-orange it?
Also - can I get a new active sync? (the one that came with it doesnt sync contacts and doesnt sync with microsoft outlook).
I think maybe I need to Cook or flash my HERMES?
Sorry that these are basic questions. I have read the Wiki, but am no familiar with al the terms.
appreciate any help or just a pointing in the correct direction

You can use the search function inserting any of the questions you posted above.
I got an SPV M3100 and I flashed it with various roms.
It's a simple process if you follow ALL the rules.

It is very helpful for me a (complete novice).
So to unlock a device I need to Flash HardSPL which is a modified bootloader ? (have I got these terms correct)?
If I stop after the flash Hard SPL stge will I have the same device as before, unlocked?
Few things I wasnt sure about, after reading the site:
"If your SPL version is 2.10.olipro then you ALREADY HAVE HardSPLv7. You do not need to flash it again."

t-mobile MDA III and upgrading windows.

Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, I did look and couldnt find anything that helped.
I have the above device, and it has Windows Mobile V5 installed. if I managed to get this unlocked (the sim lock) by t-mobile, is there a way I can upgrade to Windows Mobile 6?.
Do I have to get it unlocked to be able to upgrade to WM6 ?
and whats the advantages of WM6 over 5? and will tom tom navigator still work on WM6?

No need to SIM unlock. Just Read up on USPL, it's a CID unlocked state you need, which is different.
Once you've run USPL successfully, you can flash any WM6 ROM of your choosing.
WM6 is faster than WM5, prettier, and generally an upgraded feel, and yes Tomtom still works.

witch one is right

right i'm a newbe as everyone says, but can some one give me some info.
is this right or wrong, i have a o2 xda mini s now can i put a t mobile rom on to it or has it got to be an o2 one
if i can not do that then can i put one on that someone has made like blackdiamond.
by the way it's a g4 2.21.0001 gsm 02.07.10

If you haven't done anything to your O2, it means it's CID (carrier-ID) locked. This means that only O2 ROMs will work. However, there is a way to get around the CID lock. I wrote a guide especially for newbies like you. See my signature for the link. Have fun!
