Fast Wireless control - Touch HD General

Hi to everyone,
As You know guys, is there some easy way to swith on and switch off WiFi on HD?
I don't know, for example some tool to map a button hw like end key, instead of every time open Control Manager and waiting for it long response time to switched it on/off...
Thx

Woohoo I've finally found the ultimate solution. Download the program from the link below. unzip it . copy it to program folder on HTC root. Add a shortcut to the start menu (using resco explorer: file/send to/startmenu as shortcut). move it to the top of your drop down start menu &/or in settings, assign it to button 1 hold

Or you could install AKToggleWiFi

see post above

Thank You so much guys for your advice.

Ring Vibrate Toggle switch

There have been a number of posts indicating an interest in using the hardare WLan switch as a Ring Vibrate toggle. Due to some hardware issues that may not ever become possible. An alternative is to download the Ring Vibrate toggle Cab file from the forum link below and assign it to an underused button. I selected the Comm Manager button on the right below the power switch (after adding the Comm Manager to the HTC Touch plugin on the Today screen.... that needed a little work, as the file is hidden in the Windows directory... I used Resco Explorer with settings to see all files and copied a shortcut to the windows/Start Menu/Programs folder, allowing HTC Touch plugin to see the shortcut).
The Cab works like a charm. I attached the file for anyone interested in a quick fix for the lack of a hardware vibrate switch as on the Treo handhelds.

Nice, Thanks!!

Forgot to thank vmirage for providing the cab file that I used in this thread. Keep up the good work and thanks for providing such excellent support.

Touch screen broken

Hi,
Unfortunately I broke my touch screen. Most unfortunate thing is, my 'windows' and 'OK' button are remapped to work as right and left soft keys.
Now, I need to take backup of my SMS / mails. For this I want to open the 'programs'...
- Is there any way to open the 'Start' / 'Windows' menu by some other shortcut??
- Is it possible to 'open' the programs screen with some other shortcut?
- Is it possible to 'open' the file explorer with some other shortcut?
Thanks in advance

Install MyMobilier on you pc. I seem to recall it installing automatically with no user intervention. So this might work!

remap volume button to scroll-"wheel"

hey!
1st: thanks a lot for working on this device so hard...
2nd; thanks for sharing ALL the information it helped a lot!
here is the question:
is there a registry-tweak or something like a program to change the behavior of the "up-down-button" which controls the volume?!
because its rediculous that these important buttons look like not remapable...
thanks for reading and thinking about it!

Smartskey
Try this. It's an old application called Smartskey that no one seems to mention anymore. But it allows you to map the volume slider to be a page up/page down scroller. When on the home screen and on a call, it'll still adjust the volume, but on other screens (Internet Explorer, File Explorer, Program list, etc), it will scroll the screen one page at a time.
You can map other things too, but I only use it for the volume slider. The ini file attached is set up to this. If you want to play with the settings, the instructions are included also. Just extract the files and copy to a folder in your program files directory and run the exe file to load it. Once loaded, it will stay running even after a reset. To unload the program, run the file again.
GREAT!
lovin it!
you were a BIG help!

How to avoid Device Lock with End-Key?

Hey Folks...
do somebody of you know which registry Hack must be set to avoid Device Lock via long pressed End-Key?
no reg hack required. you can change the function of the long press on the end key via the BUTTONS option in advanced settings, have a scroll through the options at the bottom.
Yeah, i saw this solution before in another thread....
Thx so far for your tipps
Hi,
copy the attached cpl file to windows directory and makes soft reset.
Then you have control panel long press end key in your system settings.

I use SPB Mobile Shell 3.5 and this software knows how to get widgets (shortcut) on Today. There is "Wirelless manager" in Start-Settings-Connections. Make a shortcut and be happy!

Thanx both of you, with the little program from "azahidi's" link i succeeded to use my WiFi, thanx guys your great
Now the only thing is to see how to Unlock ROM and put another one on my phone
Orig WiFi program as supplied with windows can be found using file explorer- Windows folder then scroll down till you see a file"WLanSettings" with a small picture of a PDA next to it.Highlight this file then select copy. Navigate to where you want to install, click in the window. Choose paste shortcut. Next, if you want, rename shortcut. Copy result, navigate to the folder you wish to place the shortcut in (ie settings?), paste. Close explorer, go to start menue, navigate to shortcut just created, should work

Thanks for the suggestion. I already found these WLanSettings, but it still isn't exactly what I'm after. When I launch WLanSetting, next I have to turn on Wireless LAN, wait...because my access point takes a while to appear in the list, because of the waiting period it doesn't "auto connect" anymore, so I have to press "change network" and select it manually from the list with detected access point...Hold it...
Thanks again !! because when trying this (at this very moment), "Settings" appeared in my task manager (after pressing "change network"; this opened Configure Wireless Networks). Through task manager I was able to see what exe-file was behind "Settings". It's "ctlpnl.exe cplmain.cpl,17,2". Thanks to Google I just found out that putting 33# before ctlpnl.exe (without a space!) and saving this as .lnk works perfectly!!!
