Ever had troubles trying to scroll a window with your finger by tapping the scrollbar? Well this enhancement will solve this issue. Now you can scroll with your fingers, ANYWHERE on the screen.

Does it work with like flick-scroll capabilities? And also has the inverted y-axis direction been corrected?
Work well with PIE and Hermes. But unable to scroll with other touch program ie PocketCM, etc. Be nice if this app included exlusion list option for these touch programs. Many thanks again
problems with other apps....pocketcm and icontacts...
this is a very goood program...although i like the pocketcm interface of scrolling with my contacts..i though that pocketcm was just acting up so i tried i contacts and same thing...so now... disable it from the home/today screen and voila pocketcm works again... can i get this to co-exist with pocketcm and/or icontacts? i really love the way programs and PIE work like a charm with this..any help appreciated..
I tried it with a qtek9000 (wm6) and it worked, but it repeats twice the tap action, and the scrolling action isn't that easy.
But it is a very promising application.

the good-
1. Now scrolls in the correct direction so that is good.
the bad-
1. Shortcuts and web links are getting activated when lifting finger of the screen.
2. 'Tap and Hold' context menu is disabled in all applications (i.e. PIE, Newsbreak ect..)
3. The scroll is too fast compared with finger movement.
wish list-
1. I use and like the builtin screen drag in PIEPlus. So therefore would be nice to exclude cerstain applications (I think others have asked for this ability also).
Anyways, I appreciate your efforts to make PPC more finger friendly and this is a good start.

my thoughts
i have to be honest, i didn't expect this to actually work. but right after i installed and SR'ed, it worked like a charm! i'm impressed. however, some issues.
one thing that others have noticed is that it seems to have disabled any form of scrolling that is not related to scroll bars. for example, both my PocketCM and my Slide2Unlock were nonfunctional once this alpha was running.
2nd: again, as noted by kismat1970, it completely disables any form of tap and hold, which renders a vast majority of PPC applications useless.
along with fixes to those problems, i would also like to see an exclusion list, and perhaps a way to temporarily disable it? like when you tap on the small icon on the today screen, there is only an option to exit. i would like if there was sort of a toggle (as a side effect, a toggle would be a temporary workaround for the two problems i listed; however, not a permanent fix, for sure)
Good work on the alpha, overall. I'll keep my eye on this to see how it develops.

I've beeing looking for something like this on this forum and here it is. I know it's still apha, but it's a start. I hope eventual you change change to native language. CF is good and all, but it's just too slow. I'm interested in the progress of this one.

Agreed. Say (helpfully) what works and what could be better otherwise butt out.
Agree with al the issues raised so far (hey, but that's why it's an alpha right)
An option to hide the trayicon would be cool as well.

just 2 suggestions
1. instead of enabling scrolling the whole screen mayb can let scrolling only at the right side (thumb size width) and not the whole screen which the tap and hold menu can still works on the other side? hope it does not sound too stupid haha..mayb can include option to change the area and size or side of the screen which the scrolling is enable
2. application exclusion option will be very very helpful too!!

The flick-scroll capabilities is still not implemented because I have not had time. As for the inverted y-axis direction, that is now implemented
Work discontinued due to Today Life Developer has stopped development on this project. Sory about the screen shots I accidentally removed them from imageshack.

FAQ ( Please Read)
Q. It crashes because of xxxxx
A. First try copying and running the files from system memory as some devices (HTC Touch) have issues resuming from standby with program running from the storage card. If the program still fails - edit the config.XML and select YES for errorreporting - then run the program - when it crashes post the errorreport text file here and I can try and help you.
Q. Why is there nothing on the calendar or music or blah blah page?
A. Because the app isnt finished yet - as clearly stated above! - more is being added
Q. What version of WM do I need?
A. 6.x - it does not work on WM5 or below
Q. How do I install it?
A. You dont! - simply copy all files to a folder on the device and run the EXE - that's it - no install - no uninstall - nothing changed on the device - no registry entries required.
Q. What is the default unlock sequence
A. 1 single guesture - ^ (you can change this on config.xml)
Q. Can I change stuff?
A. Yes - everything! - the landscape.xml and portrait.xml contain all the positions for the icons and layouts for the skin, while config.xml contains details about non-skin related options
Q. What Compact Framework do I need?
A. You need either 2.0 or better still 3.5 - unfortunately some custom rom cookers have not fully incorporated CF into their build and this may cause you problems - not just with my app but anything that uses CF. My only suggestion here is to try an updated (or different) base rom! - it works perfect with all the WWE builds with CF installed - so I know it's the rom

Current Functionality of Highway theme:
Home tab is about 90% finished. There will be some modification in the future like: Tower when press to open comm manager or WiFi. When press signal meter it opens default comm window. When press sun it will open weather. When press clock will open alarm.
The contacts tab is currently empty but has been tested and will have a very smooth scrolling contact list.
The settings tab currently is only for program exit, future additions on this page.
The Big red power button is the Program launcher and is on all tabs. When you open the launcher just scroll and tap firmly in a straight up and down motion. To go back to the main screen gesture from right to left
Volume, still in development but to see how it works click on the speaker icon, then gesture up and down to change volume. Note Vibrate not functional yet. Gesture right to left to exit volume.
For email you may have to edit the Portrait.xml to define your email account. Mine is set to Hotmail. If you need help let me know.
Vmail indicator does not seem to be working. This is one reason for me to release this now as I need help testing on the I780. It seems to be working on other devices.

The latest version of Today Life is included in the zip file. To install Download the zip file and extract it on your PC or directly to you main memory of you device like My documents. Then just click on Todaylife.exe
What can I say? I am speechless. This is a very nice theme, a refreshing change to the Diamond theme...
For future expansion, you can consider installing an ICU (in-car unit) that will call out the player (s2p, mortplayer, HTC AM, WMP, etc..)
Once this is completed, it will be an awesome theme!!

Updated on the first page for download. Thanks to Bluemetalaxe for this great theme. I just converted it and some graphics to fit on the Omnia. Remember this Program is still under development by Dazz and it is not fully functional yet. But enjoy and I will keep it upgraded as newer versions come out.

hey bob.. on my omnia.. i can seem to see the clock appearing on the screen, plus there is no EXIT, SMS, EMAILS, CALLS and LOCK buttons. i only can c the volume button.
also, there is no Program button at the bottom most right position..
any help to amend this prob?

First you are using omnia i900 right? With the monday morning the correct? Is it the same in landscape? And is the calender and contact page ok?
Is there a QVGA version of "Monday Morning"?

As many here, I have welcomed the new era of touch friendly apps and GUIs. In the plethora of great applications that we can all find here, I feel there's a need for one more (most likely for many more, but this post focuses on only one )
Basically in everyday use, I have always had a problem with quick brightness change. The urge for that usually strikes in the least convinient moments e.g. during a car drive when the sun starts shining straight into my screen and there's no time for little tete-a-tete with good 'ol stylus, or cycling the level of brightness. None of the existing solutions seem to be perfect.
Therefore I think there's a hole to fill in by an application that I imagine, could work on very similar basis to MarcLandis's - SetVolume.
Please have a look at the concept screenshot attached.
I believe it's pretty self explanatory.
Just few words of comments:
- two separate battery & external brightness tabs (though they can be on a single screen as well),
- advanced button - is a link to system brightness panel,
- power button - is a link to the system power panel,
- +/- increase/decrease brightness level.
Optional features could include:
- skin support,
- cooperation with current apps such as S2U2,
- linking to hardware/software buttons,
- ... I'm sure you can think of some other things as well.
I understand, that due to different implementation of brightness panels/reg keys by different manufacturers this app can be a challenge. But I'm sure that's not impossible also and can be solved by different configuration profiles, or other solutions that I'm prolly not aware of.
Unfortunately being 'code deblitated' I cannot write this app myself. However, on my side I can offer full support in the graphics department and help to prepare the needed elements for different screen resolutions.
Your comments are most welcome, and hopefully someone can stand up for the challenge

Its already done in WKTASK - the best task manager for WM.
I suggest you change its normal setup to do a Launch when you hold the close X button down (easily done with a finger).
This then brings up a customized menu that can have the brightness, volume you are looking for.
this is exactly what I want to do as my next project!

I'm of course familiar with your app, which btw. is really great, however it exceeds the simple functionality of just a brightness app that I was looking for.
My point was, to have such app literally 1 click away (either hardware/software button). Currently I had created a direct shortcut to my Windows brightness panel, the problem is - that it isn't finger friendy at all - you have to pinpoint the slider, which is next to impossible if you're driving a car, or even in public transport where everything is shaking.
Maybe MVBklight... which is a today plugin also

Can Mylight be themed like the concept? In the new rom I installed my volume adjustments look much like the concept it would be nice if the backlight adjustments matched. Is this something easy to do?
I installed mylight aaaaannnnnddd yeah it doesnt seem to actually do anything? Is this just a graphic demo of what it would look like? Cause as I push the yellow thing up and it fills it up it doesnt actually change the screen brightness.

*second edit* just thought i'd point a few things out now that i've tried it (on my AT&T Fuze)
the audio seems a bit sluggish, and pressing the back key cycles through the previous "unloaded, loaded, half cocked" screens. it appears to cycle through every screen since the app was loaded. the only way i've figured out how to exit is by pressing it until the menu is back up.
Please make it compitable with the Omnia aswell.

How? It doesn't on mine. I see graphics (VGA only), but no sound, no sensor trigger, no nothing. I can simply charge and discharge the shotgun with gestures (no sound), and that's all. Also instructions button doesn't work.
EDIT: You have hardcoded "Program Files" inside app, that's why. I have a localized rom, so no "program files". Anyway, also creating the right folder, still no sensor trigger, only gestures. No animations. It's almost worst than the others virtual shotguns floating around. A big disappointment. Uninstalled.
Thanks for the app but not working great on my Diamond.
The 'instructions' button does not seem to work and I can't really tell if the g-sensor is doing anything. It also generates an ever-increasing number of entires in the task list when it is used.
Uninstall seems to work well. Look forward to seeing later versions.
I will fix the many forms problem now and update it....
also... the instructions have not yet been made... they are coming soon...
so please tell me... is the g sensor working on the diamond?

I have still proles with the versuon V2 :How? It doesn't on mine. no sound, no sensor trigger. I can simply charge and discharge the shotgun with my toucg screen (no sound), and that's all. Also instructions button doesn't work. and when you lanch the progamme there is no icon for it. i use a htc duobd now. i hope there is a now versuion soon.

yeah, there is no sound file in the cab, i use version V2 on mij diamond, can you make this app better for the diamond ?
in my Diamond, it do have a sound.. i'm currently using uDK's 6.5 rom..
waiting for version 3 with the fix for sensitivity issue and animation..

Hey, has tried this cab manila 2.5_2012.1225?
I found out about it on forums after much searching. I wish I could post the links but because I'm a new user I'm not permitted
It works pretty well for me so far I just need some help trying to fix a few things like getting landscape mode to work, getting the photo browser to work properly (you can only browse ie. no slideshow or enlarging photos), getting the wifi tab to work in settings etc.
If you need help installing it just ask, I have all the necessary files and instructions - just don't know if I'll be able to post the links or upload them?

Everything working bug-free now - just a few of the tabs in settings like gsensor calibration not working but nothing serious. Phew, no need for cooked roms.

Instructions for installing manila cab
OK for all who are interested, I have uploaded a text document detailing how to go about getting this Manila CAB to work. So far I'm very happyThere may be 1 or 2 tabs that don't work in the settings tab but they really don't bother me - one is Gsensor calibration for example. Let me know if this works. I had to try and search for all the links again so I hope I got them right for you.
Known issues thus far:
1) Music doesn't play when the screen is switched off
2) Album searcher can't see videos
Am trying to get these fixed. Will let you know when I find anything.
Just one thing you must be aware of: without installing this I had about 100mb program ram; after installing with all the fixes it goes down to roughly 70mb. It's not a problem for me because I don't demand a lot from my phone and never use more than 1 application at a time but I could perhaps recommend installing netnerds custom business rom which is ultralight and then trying this CAB over it. If any of you try this approach and have success with more memory let me know

I followed the steps and most of things work perfectly.
A few things that doesn't work for me, maybe I am doing something wrong
1. My location doesn't work
2. Music can't continue playing when I turn the screen off
3. No video in "pictures and video" tab and no landscape mode.

Did anyone else have problems with the weather? If so try this cab file. I found it wasn't necessary for me but it was for the previous version of the manila cab file. Please note that you need to update the weather manually at least I found this to be the case. Personally I don't mind this. As far as the weather screen saver goes, I have never actually seen manila 2.5 in live action, only in videos so I don't know how exactly its should work but it does work full screen in the background but only when the home tab "reloads" so to speak, when it plays once through the animation and then returns to normal. I'm not sure if it's supposed to show the weather in the background continually without end - I thought not or it would drain the battery?
For landscape mode you need to press the 3rd "<" key on your phone.
I haven't got any videos on my phone so I haven't been able to test if it can find them or not.
Is music supposed to carry on playing when you press the left hard button? If so it doesn't mine either.
