Delete words in T9 dictionary
Anyone knows how to delete words accidentally added to the T9 dictionary ?
Thanks.
Found the solution:
In \Windows directory open a program eT9MyWords.exe >> which lets you delete/edit/add custom words

Hello All, I have the new kitchen rom installed and need a bit of help with the touch keyboard/touch keypad.
When I first start it (say go to programs) and tap on the keyboard symbol I get a nice large standard keyboard with the numbers on top but if I change to any program that requires that requires input the keyboard switches to the XT9 automatically and I can't seem to find a way to disable the XT9 input.
Any ideas????
Hey Iggy, I have a unbranded herald and installed a custom rom with the touch keyboard/touch keypad, and encountered the same exact thing. I wasn't the only one either. I installed the custom rom I was using previously and I didn't have that problem anymore. I think it might be a keyboard bug in that rom you're using. I could be mistaken, but so many people in the herald community forum who installed that particular beta rom experienced that same *annoying* keyboard issue, lol.
Look in the Elf upgrading forum for the original thread by noonski, check on the first page for the link to the fix for switch to xt9 mode (2 letters per key). Just a note if you make the changes to have the full querty stay you will not be able access the other modes, also xt9 will be completely disabled.

look for the HTC Touch keyboard/keypad's cab file version somewhere in the elf/elf upgrading forums and copy it into your ppc. then tap it to install the cab. then use a registry editor and go to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER/keyboard layout /Preload/1
change e0010409 by adding characters like XXXXXe0010409 to disable xt9 and make the HTC Touch 40-key keyboard permanent. (you can revert it back by taking out your added characters) BUT what i found was the landscape view does not contain a spacebar key/button! but portrait mode works flawlessly.
Disable XT9
I used this reg file found in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344533 it is part of the HTC Touch Keyboard/Keypad file that can be downloaded as a seperate file.
..thanks...
...for you information, now my hardware keyboard is on!!
Hello,
Every time I try to install HTC Album, it doesn't show the text. (option text, etc..) its all blank. Everything work fine but there is no text.
Now that only happens when I install it. When it is installed within a ROM (Mary for example), it works just fine.
Any ideas to solve this problem??
Thank you.
you have to rename HTCAlbum.exe.0409.mui (in windows directory) to your language code -> HTCAlbum.exe.XXXX.mui (XXXX = the language code)
where can I find the language codes??
Edit: Never mind, I just found what I wanted Thanks.

If you have a french OS the language code is 040C. For others I don't know.
An easy way to find it (but not the better) is to go in your Windows directory and search for a system file like "gwes.exe". You will find "gwes.exe.xxxx.mui" where xxxx is the language code you should apply.
Wonderfull help, but there some square instead of letters in the first menu (soft touch)
Good help, but stay's square instead of letters in the first explorer and in the soft keys
Hi guys,
My new htc doesn't remember the new words added in dictionary after a soft reset, I have already contact htc support and they tell me that happen because is stored in memory RAM (WTF??).
Can I edit the t9 database and add the words? I have tried with "eT9MyWords" but doesn't work..
Thanks in advance.
does anyone have the same problem?
yes, i have
What ROM do you have?
What keyboard?
did you perform a hard reset to your device after you've purchased it?
I'm having the same problem and haven't found any solution. There is a T9Editor somewhere on the net, but it also doesn't work (at least for me).
I am thinking about buying Cootek TouchPal which also has T9 and can save user entered word, but I'd much rather have the HTC T9 Keyboard save my words...
Hopefully someone will find a way...
we can see this problem only on wm 6.5, becouse this OS store the file of t9 words in the ROM(why???). i dont want to use another keybord.
this problem was on my td2 before hard reset and after it.
I made a little (dirty) MortScript script that reads words from a text file and automatically enters them into the T9 database.
The script has to be run manually after every reset/shutdown or could be entered to the notification queue so that it is automatically run after every reset/shutdown.
Installation:
* Expand the zip file into some directory on computer.
* Edit the file "t9user.txt" to contain the desired words:
- one word/line
- be sure to keep the empty line at the end of the file
* Edit the 1st line of file t9user.mscr:
- this line reads: et9mywords_title = "T9 Meine Wörter"
- change the text between the quotation marks to the title of your eT9MyWords.exe
- I'm using the german version so the title reads "T9 Meine Wörter"
* Copy everything into a folder on your PPC and change to that folder on your PPC
* Start the included MortScript.exe to register the script file type ".mscr"
(This should not be required if you already have MortScript installed)
* start the script by "clicking" the file "t9user" with the MortScript logo...
The script should start eT9MyWords.exe (which is shipped with the Touch 2) inside the "Windows" folder and enter all words from the text file. Afterwards eT9MyWords.exe is automatically closed again.
It is quite an ugly workaround, but at least it works
PS: Feel free to improve my script or use it any way you like, but please report any improvements so we all can benefit...
Thanks!
I'll test it.
It works
Good job! It works well! For french WM version, the t9user.mscr file modification is "XT9 Mes mots".
Good job georg.madler!
not a perfect solution, but works fine!
the Portuguese title of eT9MyWords.exe is "XT9 Minhas palavras"
Thank you!
Hi!
Glad that my script is working for you...
I know this way is not very elegant, I'm looking for a way to add words directly to the T9 database without the use of eT9Mywords.exe allowing for "better performance" and maybe a way of extracting added words from the database to the textfile...
Bye,
Georg

Dear all,
I'm also having this t9 issue and at the moment I'm using the script, thanks again.
I submited the problem to HTC support and they were responding that I was the first reporting this problem...
If you're reading this, it's probably that your Mega is also loosing the T9 entries... so report the problem to HTC, in this way they will perhaps take some time to solve it!
fix for this problem
View attachment MEG_S00015.zip
run in device.
Can you tell us where you got that file from and if it is working with all language-versions of the Mega?
Thanks!
Edit: I tried it and it works! But sadly this hotfix does break something else:
If you use the phonepad-style keyboard to enter text only the first letters of the buttons pressed appear, the word suggestions do show that the word is recognized and word in the text area is replaced with the recognized word after you press space.
For example if i enter my name "Georg" the textarea reads "gdmpg", only after i press the space button those letters are replaced with the correct word...

is there a possibility to have words added when adding them during texting? or do you have to always use a texteditor?

Hi,
What are the name of the system T9 file you are updating?
Thank you.

Hi,
My LEO has english ROM and Its obvious that all of the apps and stuff is in english - and thats fine for me - i want it that way.
But when typing a message I would like my LEO to use polish language dictionary (useful to Spell Correction, to Word Completion
[XT9] and so on).
I know that it is possible to set different language for text input, but when I open the list of languages to choose from, I see: german, french, etc. but NO polish;/
Does anyone know how to deal with this? How to get polish lang on the list?
install a registry editor and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Tegic/eT9
click AvailableLanguages and add 0115 to the end of the value like:
0109,010C,0107,0110,010A,0115
then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Tegic/eT9/LdbFiles
and add a new String value named 0115 with a value of PLlsUN_xt9.ldb
then go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Sip\LanguageKeyBoardIDMapping
and add a new String value named 0115 with a value of 0915
reboot your device...
It will be there CZ or SK too ?? ? ? Thanks CLEVER MAN ! !!
I think Slovak is 011B, SKlsUN_xt9.ldb, LanguageKeyBoardIDMapping 091B
but I haven't tried so I'm not sure..
Also not sure CZ is in there.. there's no .ldb file with CZ or something.. any ideas what it might be called? I think the code should be 0105.
if the ldb file is there it should be located in the windows folder

Thanks for help.
I followed Your guide but I still seem to have a problem.
I opend text editor right after rebooting my device. I set language to Polish, turned word prediction on and started typing. I entered 1 word and clicked space button to start typing second word. And from this moment my device is not responding (I had to perform restart). I tried it for about 5 times - always thesame reaction.
So I performed hard reset, set device language to Polish (previously i had English). When my Leo was ready I changed the registry according to Your instruction and restarted the device. From that moment my Leo is restarting all the time long. I had to remove the battery and do the hard reset to make it work again.
Do You know what could cause the problem?

I just checked to add Polish but it works perfectly for me.. maybe check your spelling with the .ldb file and check if the file is present in the windows folder.. is it an original ROM?
When you set your device to polish (multi language device??), did you check if the dictionary was maybe already there before you changed the registry? A polish device should have a polish dictionary standard you should say..
Well it works (wejdz w jakies pole textowe->klawiatura->trojkat przy klawiaturze->ust wprow texty->wlacz sprawdzanie pisowni) type kocham then press it to keep it save on word list then type koham and you should be able to choices between both words. Correct one will be at center in order to press space to accept(space soft key).
Unluckly you have to type words by your own to have it in xt9
It loock like not all language could be activatet.
I try to do that for Ukraine but no result.
Hi all
Short:
How do I remove a single preset(stock) autocorrect "rule" or word from a language?
My problem:
I use my phone with Norwegian and out of the box the autocorrect got a pretty annoying fault.
When i type "Hei" that means " hello" in Norwegian, the autocorrect corrects it to "Hdi".
"Hdi" got no meaning in Norwegian and this is pretty annoying since it doesn't learn that it is wrong over time.
I use the latest ROM by pdaimatejam at all time, WP 7.8
Link to ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1356833
I guess i will be able to use cab sending to "update" my language with a language cab.
I have because of this searched through a language cab file to try to find it, but i have not succeeded in finding it.
To get to the files in cab I used WinRAR to unpack the language cab, and then used it once again to unpack the pkg files in the extracted folder.
Is there anyone who knows how what file I have to find and edit?
I do only want to remove a single word
settings - keyboard - typing settings
click on "tap to change"
but if you have selected English (or other) keyboard, not Norwegian... select right one in settings - keyboard...
not quite what i was looking for

thx for a quick reply, but I think you have misunderstood my question.
How do I remove only a single word from the preset autocorrect, the one the phone is delivered with.
