SU2U - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

hi,
I would like to you use S2U2 to have my screen alwayson but backlight turn off after 30seconds. this, is easy no pb.
what i can't do is to not activate backlight when I touch the screen.
i'd like to activate backlight only when after I unlock S2U2.
I want to have my cell's screen always on without backlight in my pocket and activate screen backlight only when I swipe my finger to unlock S2U2.
is there anyway to do that?
thx

Slide unlock.... 2 U!
All Seinfeld joking aside, why not post in the official thread?

cuz it's closed!

Okay if you want that to happen.. you pretty much needa leave S2U2 the way it is and set your backlight settings to turn off after 30 seconds BUT leave the Auto Off timer as unlimited.
These settings SHOULD be under SETTINGS>SYSTEM>CPU Profiler or if your phone doesnt have that it should be SETTINGS>SYSTEM>BACKLIGHT for the backlight to turn offf then SETTINGS>SYSTEM>POWER then the second tab to leave your device on.
Oh.. and i wont flame you but please for the love of god post in the right section.

I did it already but since the screen is on without the backlight, each time I touch the screen, backlight turns on.
my point is to have the screen always on without backlight and to activate the backlight I swipe the S2U2

I've done that, using Lumos, but I don't know if it'll work if your mobile doesn't have a light sensor. Anyway, you can configure different light settings for different apps, like S2U2 .
Also, I can tell you, no backlight ain't pretty when you're outside, you can't even see if your screen is on or not .

ive asked for this to be moved to correct section

I do have a light sensor (xperia) but I don't think we understand each other.
I'm not planning to use my cell without backlight, I just need to activate backlight after I unlocked it with S2U2.
sorry for the inconvenience about the incorrect section,a moderator can move it in the correct section?

Official S2U2 thread is NOT closed !!! There is a new thread (2.01)

I don't understand why you want the screen to stay on all the time. Anyway, Lumos would work, but so would the default 6.5 lock. It can be configured to appear just like S2U2. Plus, the backlight does not activate until the phone is unlocked.

Registry fix for Universal keyboard backlight duration?

Does anybody know of a way of extending the Universal's keyboard backlight duration longer than the highest option of 10 secs? My eyes are hurting trying to see the keyboard at night.
Don't want it a lot. Maybe 20 or 30 seconds? Perhaps this is a registry setting?
TIA
Dont even need to change a registry setting mate
Go to Start > Settings > Buttons
Then click on the Backlight tab, it brings up the options here to either have the light sensor enabled or disabled, and also how long you want your keyboard backlight on for
Sorry
read ur post wrong
Only realised myself the highest option is 10 secs!
Doh!
Yes, there is a registry setting...
HKCU\ControlPanel\Backlight\QKeyLedTimeout
Change it from 10 to whatever you want. I originally set it to 60, but found that was way too long. I've got it set at 30 right now and that seems to be working well for me.
You need to soft reset after making the change before it will go into effect. Remember to turn the device off before you soft reset to make sure the cache is flushed and your change is saved.
HTH,
Brett
What about a way to change the sensitivity of the keyboard light sensor? We all I think find it not sensitive enough, and when it's too dark to see the keys, it still doesn't come on.

In what way doesn't it work? Are the keyboard lights always on or always off? At night, in the dark, do the keyboard lights come on when you press a key? Have you got the ambient light sensor enabled in the Control Panel?
I thought my light sensor wasn't working either when I first got it, not realising that you had to tap a key before it would light up.
I was also one of those that didn't know where the stylus from the box went (it was the spare)

how to set dimmer of the backlight

Hello
thanks for help
in my previous kaiser , after 30 second the screen backlight dim (don't shut down, set to minimal position) and after 1 mnute the kaiser completly go on stanby
this is all ok
But in my new P6500
after 30secondes the back light completly switch off !! but the p6500 still wake, and after 1 minutes it goes to standby
How can i set or make some regsitry tweak to make P6500 go to dim backlight after the preset time just like kaiser ??
Thanks
The Sedna screen is different from the one on your Kaiser , you can read whats on the screen even when the backlight is completely off.

Well, assuming there is sufficient ambient light! In total or near-total darkness, I would be VERY surprised if it still could be read.

In near-total darkness you definitely can't read whats on the screen but you can read it when the backlight is off and you are holding the pda under direct sunlight .

Using G-sensor to turn backlight on and Off during a Phone Call

Is there a program that will turn the screen off during a call when the phone is held vertical to your ear and then turn the screen on when the phone is lowered allowing use of the keypad similar to the Iphone?
Thanks,
Henny
You might try Mobile Magic from this forum. But I don't know for sure.
Mate there is already a thread for this, the problem is if there are loads of little threads we can't pool our resources to 'make it happen'.
Here

So far i don't think anyone has found a working solution.

Advanced configuration tool works perfect for me. Just set the light sensor polling to enabled, interval to 10, threshold to 5 and threshold to turn screen off to 5 also.

interval to 10? that seems very high, 100 times per second. i'd say something more like 200ms or even 500ms interval. it would use a lot less system resources.
marko
Patrick and Elmarko,
Thanks for the replay.
Tried setting the light sensor as reccomended in your post via the advanced config tool and it does not blank the screen when holding the phone against my ear.
Also, when you lower the phone does the screen come back on?
from my experience I can get rid of the black screen during phone call if i press the <home> button; it gets me back to the dialer

IPAQ 600 series: Annoying problem where screen turns brightest on recording sound

It's really annoying when you're in someplace and just after you press the record button and suddenly the screen turns full blast bright! People around starts to turn their heads in your direction... Does your ipaq 612/614 pda's spits unwanted light rays in your face as well?
Do you know how to disable this, perhaps a registry tweak we can do?
Thank you so much
i believe my backlight fix (reg fix) will fix that, check the post in the backlight controller thread
thanx keyx,
you never fail to be helpful
Hi keyx,
I think you should try pressing the record button using the memo program.
I'm sure it still turns bright even after you follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4527543&postcount=94
Which line specifically prevents the screen to bright?
TIA

i think the note app is designed to force backlight on while recording (like gps app that keep backlight on)...you may want to look for other app that does not do that or try disable backlight globally...
if you use my rom you can use the voice commander button on the side of the unit to turn screen off, it should keep the app going
I've tried other recording programs, also still forces the backlight to turn on to high gear.
I'm currently using backlight controller to turn it off while recording, but sometimes you just need to leave the screen on.
There is a Hardware bug in the iPaq 600 phones.
This bug causes "static" to be heard in all recordings if the screen goes dim.
HP was aware of it and so sent out a "fix" except they did not fix anything all they did was force full screen brighness for the duration of the recording so that you never encounter the bug.
If you disable the screen brightness via a reg key chances are you will here the static in your recordings.
Btw i have not tested keyx's reg fix
little more info here

thanks branded,
I'd rather have it bright than clicking noise

Proximity problem

Hello,
I have bought myself a diamond touch 2, and i directly flashed it to Dutty's R6 rom because i like it much better and i made up my mind about it even before i bought it.
Now i seem to have a problem, and i don't know what would be the problem; either the device or the rom?
Proximity doesn't work; setting automatic backlight dimms the screen to a low-light level. Holding a flashlight above it doesn't make any difference.
Also, when making a call, the display keeps being illuminated the whole time, no matter if i hold it to my ear or not.
Does someone recognize this problem?

Settings\System\Power\Backlight\ Turn off Auto adjust.
If i turn off auto adjust i can indeed set full brightness, but that's not the point. I want the auto-dimming and proximity sensor to work, so when i hold the piece next to my ear it locks and turns off the screen...
If I turn on auto-adjust, it doesn't respond on any lightchange or action; it just dimms the screen to about 40% and keeps it there.. either a bug or a hardware fault with my unit?
Not sure that it ever worked perfect out of the box.
Have you tried tweaking the settings with TD2 Tools?
How do you mean tools? As far as i know i can only find one box to turn auto adjust on.. you have the same configuration, does it work for you?
EDIT: I installed the app "LumosWizard". Now the phone's backlight adjusts depending on the light the sensor receives. The sensor works well as the values go up when putting a flashlight on it.
However, i wonder why this doesn't work with just auto-adjust on, that's what the HTC Auto-Backlight should do right? Also, with this app, the backlight doesn't go out when no light is reveived (auto-lock when putting into pants, or turned off backlight when calling...) ?
This is what i'm looking for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xakUmz1zwc
=> i don't think this is achieved by an additional application, but is just standard HTC service doing this because of putting on the auto-adjust...
There is NO proximity sensor on Touch DIAMOND II. Only light sensor. Use Touch_InCall_Screen_Tweak instead. This program use G-sensor and block the screen when your phone is in vertical position.

Thanks, installed and works good!
Still wondering though why i need a 3rd app like LumosWizard to make the lightsensor work, as htc's autoadjust apparently doesn't
I did find this .cab called Glight and it works great on my TD2
More about it here:
