I bricked mine and have just ubricked it. Its easy, connect USB to PC, enter bootloader, run any RUU wizard.
* Enter bootloader - Press and hold the camera key, then press the soft reset button. Hold the camera button until the bootloader menu shows it. You will see 3 different gradient colors.

I think, it's a good idea. Actually I thought about something like your thread but if you don't mind I will say something in your thread.
I've got the same problem as you've got. Moreover, I've seen a lot of users posting on this forum, which have got such a problem with their Heralds. They boot only in tri-color bootloader mode and even RUU dedicated to our models doesn't work, saying Error 300. When we are trying to use MTTY to run getdevinfo command, as a result we can see error message. That's why RUU can't check the right CID in our devices.
All known solution for Heralds don't work with our problem. We should develop or wait for being developed by someone (Olipro,pof,mestrini,...) suitable solution. There are fine solutions for bricked Wizard or Hermes so it should be the way to unlock our Heralds, too.
My idea is to count all users with bricked Heralds to see the size of the problem and to show our great developers on this forum that it is important to find a way to unbrick our Heralds. Or maybe we should establish the prize for the person who will be the first in finding the unbricking method and than donate him? I think it could motivate some of them...
So, all bricked Herald's users, please leave your post in this thread, to show the world that this is a huge problem!

I was thinking in something.. Do u remember PDAVIET first version for Prophet? You cannot flash PDAVIET WM6 directly.. U have to flash a special PDAVIET WM5 to prophet first, then PDAVIET WM6. And... when u got a bricked prophet device, the solution is...? PDAVIET WM5 special rom

Forced RUU? I know that the Univesal has an RUU to bypasses any and all checks and just starts flashing the ROM. I wonder if this would help... I assume the IPL is still fine unless it was overwritten in your devices because it's in a different memory address in devices with an SPL lower than 4.0.0.0. We would have to create our own RUU, though.
EDIT: After some research, this will not work. If the radio was damaged but the radio bootloader was not, there might still be hope, if the radio bootloader was damaged, then it's a no go.
Ive tried with Bepe's RUU (Polaris Premium BEPE ROM) but have no luck... maybe i should try to patch IPL/SPL in RUU check

Hi everyone, my first time here, I have an HTC Touch from Rogers, I failed to upgrade the ROM version for my Elfin, by mistake I downloaded the CDMA version and try to upgrade my GSM Touch. As a result my HTC stays on the 3 color screen, and I've already tried all the possible solution that are recommended on this forum, I haven't tried the Gold Card, and I guess that I need the original ROM for this HTC. The point here is that following the procedure to obtain the model of the HTC with the MTTY software on the log it doesn't shows the Model or CID. So I can really know what ROM is the one to download. At the back of HTC it shows ELF0101.
I really don't know what else to do and trying to make a Gold Car is really complicated because I really don't know much about computers or cell phones.
Is there another way to find out the Model and the CID ?
Does anyone has the same model ELF0101 from ROGERS ?
Can you please help me ?

Yours is ELF010150 and ROGER001, just like mine.
Search for a shipped ROM with ELF010150 as the Model ID.
There is a Quebec Rogers one (ELF010150 ROGER202).. search for that, and use it in your Gold Card.

Hi guys i need some help if anyone can guide me how to fix my problem. I have an htc touch cdma it has been working fine for more than a year but recently it started rebooting some times or if it reboots it doesnt start again and i have to remove battery and other thinks for it to start. Reading the forum here i got some info about bricked phones so i used the gold card but i dont have the shipped rom because i parchased the phone as a used one. Any of u guys backup his phone before upgrading it and can send me a link to get the shipped rom that would be very helpfull or any other sugestions on my problem and how to fix it and also how to remove the ( test only ) screen that has from the gold card use.

u shouldnt have used the goldcard, that for solving a completely different problem. if your phone starts then it is NOT bricked.
u have to do a lot of reading to get some facts straight, anyway i think u have a hardware problem.

got a major problem now ive tried to update to 1.48 but it crashed now i get a warning traingle on start up,and can go into bootloader screen and it says upgrade rom code error please try again???someone please help.i hope i havent bricked my phone
Is your HD2 branded? (bought it in combination with a contract?)

Have you tried to hard reset your phone to see if the old rom boots up again?
If it does not then you might want to reflash your existing rom onto your phone using the SD card method (look at the threads at the top of the Rom Development page to find what you are looking for).
If it works and you are still keen to upgrade the rom you need to read the threads on using either the Goldcard or HardSPL methods to upgrade.
Come back and let us know how you got on.

hi mate i was having the exact same probs as the chap in the hd2 bricked thread,same messages etc and stopping at 9% i took there advice and reflashed the hpsl again which has worked a treat,i'm now a little dubious bout trying to upgrade as i don't fancy bricking it.
ive emailed htc to see why i cant upgrade from 1.43 to 1.48 seems odd it says my phone isnt suitable.

OK, wait until you hear back from them. However if you are now up and running and have installed HardSPL, I think you will find that flashing a new radio on its own might help solve your problems.
I think if you look at the thread you were referring to (this one...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618084), IIRC, MysticGenius runs through a procedure for doing this that helped him sort out a similar problem.

PS: Lesson learned here though is to read exhaustively on the topics on here BEFORE jumping in as fixing problems later can be both time consuming, if you are lucky, and a pain in the rear. As for that horrible sick feeling you get when you think you have bricked £500 worth of phone....wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy!

So i've been asked to unlock a this phone as a favor
So got home after having some drinks(not the best idea) and tried unlocking it
Long story short i installed a wrong spl as i understand and now the phone stays on the splash screen
I did lots of research in the forum, allot of ppl have the same problem, but didnt find a complete answer on how to fix this
as i now understand i should first application unlock it, then hard spl and then flash custom rom
On the Bootloader it says
"cEDA100
SPL-0-39.0000
MicroP-Cedar.W(LED) v58B"
And on the bottom "Serial" witch as i now understand means its not application unlocked?
So when i try to flash it it allways stays on 0%
And as i said it stops on the htc splash screen
Tried hard resetting the first way, but nothing. Cant find the original telus rom and i dont have an htc donor to do the 3rd hard reset way
Any help would be much appreciated right now guys ASAP cause am leaving canada by 2mrw
