why is my imei coming up as xxxxxxx??

hello everyone miss me ? hope u all forgive me for my behaviour and i deserved getting temp banned i was out of line i,m soooooooooorrrryyy .
anyways i have a serious problem ,,,i flashed my athena to wm6 and now my imei comes up as XXXXXXXXX ,,,i,m kinda worried because now my gps dont work and i have no idea why this has happened if anyone can give me a tip or a suggestion or if anyone else has had this problem please let me no

Try reflashing the Radio ROM or the complete ROM. Also make sure you have applied the AthenaUnlocker before you do.

hi thxs for replying ,,,i have tried what u mentioned several times and its stil the same ,i even put back the original t-mobile rom that came with my athena device ,,i dont know what else to do is there like a imei repair tool for these devices? i need this done otherwise my warranty is gone and i cant ring up t-mobile uk and tell them, i put wm6 and removed there software again due to warranty please what else can i do ?

You can find TMobile ship on our FTP ( but only GERMAN version) : RUU_Athena_TMO_DE_1.12.111.6_1.32.00.00_Ship.rar

hi ,,its the german t-mobile rom but what i did was add the english cab file to it and it works well i,ve attached it here also i didnt realise that the t-mobile rom also exists in the xda ftp site

hi,,,the imei got corrupted upon me flashing it with a rom i obtained from another site ,,,since then its messed up my imei ,,,the sad thing is if this handset got stolen i dont think the network providers can do nothing to block it or barr it and i messed up my warranty
i,ve tried to speak to other engineers about this they dont wanna know because imei modification or even messing with it in the u.k is very illegal but all i want to do is get my original imei back and seems no one will help me or even point me to the right direction of doing this ,,thus i have lost my gps that wont work anymore

i tried using the tool called iwizard which can modify or change imei's on htc platforms but it doesnt support the athena its only for older model handsets.
besides the roms from xda developers i have been using since i owned a blueangel device and not 1 of them has caused me problems only serious issue i have had is with mr lumpistefans rom which has made my wallaby device dead!! and i am saddened to lose my old wallaby because of his roms

I'm sorry to hear of you news. I'm aware that IMEI alteration is illegal in the UK, but thought that for genuine reasons such as this some of the phone shops you find round major towns such as London may be able to assist (for a fee). If you take original documentation, like the sticker on the box and the unit to verify that that was the genuine IMEI, and it is restoration that you're after not alteration..... I don't know, someone might be able to help...

But just to confirm, if I use the German WM5 T-Mobile ROM on my UK Ameo, that currently has a English WM6 it should operate, and keep my IMEI... the only thing will be the language, which I take it that CAB file you provided will restore, and EVERYTHING will be in English? That right?

hi and yes buddy all should be fine like i said this rom is ok and genuine from german t-mobile site and the same rom is available on the ftp developers site ,,just use the the english cab file and your ready to go
and in theory this cab file should work on other foreign language roms also
and i did try to contact shops regarding my imei none want to help they said nothing can be done

Noob's Flashing question: Is there a way to "backup" your actual ROM??

I'm very excited to try some really nice ROM's I have seen in here, but I'm afraid that some day if I would want to get it back to the "factory" version of my HTC P4351 (that's the model name for our "Herald" here in Brazil) I could not do it.
Anyway, is there a way to Backup my actual ROM before I flash it to another? Also, is there some concern I must have regarding my carrier (not only the network configuration itself, but some "block" that they could have implemented in the device)?
My cell phone carrier is CLARO, if there are other brazilians here who actually had success in flashing, your comments are really appreciated!!

You can follow ITJE's post regarding on how to build your own rom ... dump your rom, then recook it. I'm not a cook, so I wouldn't know all the details.

Ivalid or missing SIM card error message

hi all this is my first post so please bear with me if i sound stupid.
I am the owner of an XDA stellar and thought it would be a good idea to buy another XDA as a spare. I liked the features of the XDA mini s so i bought a used one as it was faulty and thought it could be a software problem. i have tried different roms on it but still getting the sae message. Have read some posts on here for different phones and some of these have been fixed from this error, was wondering how i can do this model? I have found out from the forums that tis is the G3 model all details are IPL 1.01 SPL 1.05 GSM 01.12.10 OS 1.5.4.2 Could you please help and save this phone from becoming just a PDA. thank you all jamie

Was Just looking through these forums and i have gathered it may have something to do with the radio rom could i be right ????

lol sorry when i got the phone everything is working except the actual phone part with or without sim card inserted i get the message which says says "Invalid or Missing SIM card" from what i can gather reading the forums on here this is a software problem which can be fixed but i dont know much about the software on these phones except how to install roms etc.

Windows Mobile 6.1 Lock in to Beta Massage

Hello Everyone,
I'm new to all this, I bought my HTC Touch ELF0100 HTC P3452 and after a week of use it start showing the Beta test release software massage, I been reading over the forums without any success on how to solve this issue, I can't use my new phone now, please any help would be appreciate it, I forget to mention that I bought it on Ebay and it came from china, I been trying to contact the vendor with no response from his part. Again, please help me or point me to the right direction on my search for a solution of this issue.

It might be an unoriginal HTC device.
Take out your battery and check around whether you see a HTC logo, or some other words.

If I take the battery out I can see the HTC logo on the lower right corner of the battery housing.
This maybe relevant or not, but I noticed that when I connect the device to my laptop and try to sync it, a massage pop out saying that the " device is a prototype and remember to change the vendor ID".
Is there any way I can reinstall windows mobile on it. At this time I do not have any information on the device.

Thanks for all the valuable information and posting you send me, unfortunately I'm not able to sync my elf with activesync and I cant either hard reset or neither of the buttons seems to be working beside the one to control the volume, when I press the power button and this one the phone display a " Enter bootloader / updated from SD Card? " message on the screen.
Something that I can do with this little brick now?

Did you by your device new or seond hand as this message may be displayed after flashing the unbricker test rom
so if it is second hand this device maybe was bricked and you will need to CID unlock and flash a new rom or search for an official rom for it

I buy it on ebay and supposedly was new, when I receive it it work fine but I noticed that the date was wrong and corrected it after that all I can see is the Beta test message when it load windows mobile 6.1.
Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you leave negative feedback, so others do not get duped! if you cannot hard reset like normal Touch instructions, it is a Clone Elf or Elfin.. FAKE! Let others know!
the beta thing does not really mean its a fake, just could be installed incorrectly the OS, but if you caanot Hard Reset, that is a sign of a fake..... REPORT, NEG HIM!

I just found out that this is a fake ELF, I hard reset it following this link , now it it out of the Beta message, but if I try to correct the date again goes back to the same screen with it.
I know that you guys do not support fake ELF, but can I flash the rom on it to a new one, or does anybody know how to get rid of the message and use to current date and time?.

Usually flashing a genuine HTC rom will brick a unoriginal phone.

As you can see there is no one who has your rom, it means that you must find himself and I think you did not call service (https://www.vodafone.com.tr/MyVodafone/myvodafone.home.php), because you wrote nothing about it, and this is the first what you should do, you do not have to tell them anything about android porting ... use your imagination, or simply say to them that the phone from time to time freezes and reboots, you called HTC and they told you (as usual) that you should ask vodafone for the original ROM. Or wait, maybe you get a reply, you never know, but I really doubt.
Ah yes, I almost forgot, you have not written IMEI. (The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI is a number unique to every mobile phone found printed under the battery.)There are online search engines such as: (http://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr) that can identify and show information about manufacturer, model type, and country or region. Maybe there is somewhere better software, I do not know.
