Hi Good Peoples,
Hoping someone can help me please.
What is the default directory for the storage of Notes?
Mine don't seem to sync properly and even if the HD has the latest copy, my desktop wins and overwrites the file.
Everything else syncs properly.
Any suggestions please?
I think there stored in my documents on the device mine are anyway by the way you can set how these files are synced, whether the files are updated from PC or Device have a look in mobile device centre under mobile device settings manage partnership you can choose replace items on device or Desktop.
Not sure if you have to repeat this in sync on device under options
Stuffed if I know what happened.
The settings were correct. I unticked the Notes sync and then ticked it again (for about the third time) and its now working.

Hi, I synchronise my XDA II with two PCs, office and home, but having just had to do a full restore, Activesync keeps saying that 2 files are not synched and just goes round and round trying to synch them. It's the same on both PCs.
I've made sure no files are read-only but cannot work out how to find which files are causing the problem.
Any suggestions gratefully received.........

AT MS ActiveSync menu - Information Type - Files, when you use your mouse pointer, highlight the Files icon, right click and select Resolve items..., what does it say?
For me, usually when it does not synch properly, it means that
(a) I have files with foreign languuage filename that cannot be translated properly.
(b) your files stored in your desktop is not the same as the files in your device.
Hope this helps.
or maybe it's files being used by the pc or pda ?
activesync will not sync files being used
make sure no other programs are running on the xda
and no files from the my pocketpc doc is opened on the pc
I had the same problem, tried everything to remove the problem:
Checked all files in device and synchronisation folder on PC
Checked all Active Sync settings
Closed all applications
Tried time and time again
In the end the only way I resolved it was when I upgraded the ROM to 1.72
So basically my only advice it, Hard Reset or Firmware upgrade
Does Not Sync 2 Files
I too had the problem, but I think I may have got to the bottom of it.
On my desktop, after an unsuccessful ActiveSync, I noticed that my recycle bin contained 2 files that had not been there before. They were TomTom files. If I immediately did another Sync, all files were synced correctly.
But, next time I used TomTom, ActiveSync would report that 2 files were not synched, and another pair of TomTom files appeared in the Recycle Bin.
I don't know a cure, but at least I know I am not losing any data.

Well, there's one more thing you can try - and this is also what got rid of the problem for me: synchronise, then disconnect the device, run File -> Delete Partnership from the desktop Active Sync, allowing it to delete the synchronised files. Then check C:\Documents and Settings\<your account name>\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync\Profiles and make sure there is no directory with your partnership's name - delete it if it still exists.
Now just reconnect your device and create a new partnership. ActiveSync will copy all "to-be-synchronized" files from the PDA to your PC, so no data is lost. The problem, however, will be gone - at least it was for me!
Cheers, Daniel
re:
I had these problems a couple of times when i hard reset my xdaii, the 2 culprit files are the westekk PPT and pdf. Its easily identified on the file explorer ion the xda2, its icon is not valid (no programs associated).
try deleting these 2 files and see. worked for me.
New kid on the block here so I hope someone out there can help me.
Recently got O2 Mini sd Wizard and really pleased with it.
Adding info. to the phone and synching with my pc OK.
I have just lost about 2/3 of my contacts - I don't know how.
But now when I try to synch with my pc I get an error message that reads:
'support code 800703fa' and synching does not complete.
I have tried soft reset but nothing changes.
When I try a hard reset, the phone behaves as though I have just done a soft reset and still nothing changes.
Anyone have any suggestions? (Polite ones please!!!)
+1 for title.
I would just go into ActiveSync on your phone and delete all of the accounts (click on Menu > Options, highlight the computer nickname and click Delete), then delete the sync folder on your computer, and create the account anew.
After creating it, go into your phone's Activesync again and click on Menu > Options again. From here you can configure the settings for each thing you want to sync, and can turn items on or off. For example, since my phone contact list is WAY more important to me, and I don't want my personal contacts ending up on my work computer (where I usually sync), I do not sync them at all. However, I always push Notes and Tasks from the phone to my computer, since I'm usually creating those while away from my desk. Each item can be set differently. I usually let Files sync in both directions, so I can nab new .cab files when I need to.
BTW, a Google search for "support code 800703fa" could be very enlightening, or very tedious, but either way, I'd recommend trying it.
Hi,
I want to keep my laptop desktop folder syncronized with hd2.
How can we chose a complete folder with every files in it (not only several files), to syncronize via autosync.
Secondly on syncronization hd2 is keeping the files in device. How can we address it to send files to storage card?
Thanks all.
thats all possible with windows mobile device center.
look at it carefully and you'll find the right options....

my Dear friend,
I am already actively using wmdc for syncronization of several files and email accounts.
After your advice I double checked, but still you can only chose files. not folders.
Please kindly show me the way if you can do.
Best wishes.
I don't know how much this may help.
If you connect your phone as a external drive, you can use the free M/S SyncToy v2.1 (yes I know it is a bit of a duff name, but it does the job really well). There is also quite a bit of flexibility in syncing.
thanks for advice.
I will keep it in mind.
hope there is a way to do it via Autosync.
Hi!
Recently I've set up Missing Sync, but now I'm encountering two problems that annoy me a bit:
1. When I sync through USB the default path for the Markspace Folder is on / while via Wifi the Folder is created in /sd/. This means that I have duplicated folders and every media item shows up twice on my Galaxy. Is there a way to change the paths for the Markspace folder?
2. It seems that every time I sync the Photos, it deletes the latest taken ones and copies them over to the device again. Strange behaviour which doesn't take all too much time but it gets significant when syncing over wifi.
Hope someone can help me,
bye Smirny
ok I've managed to solve these problems now (after 4 hours of intense pain ^^):
for 1.:
You have to change the path in "DeviceList" of the Missing Sync Application Support folder to sd\\MarkSpace\\Photos (or Music, etc.) when you want to sync via USB, then change it back to MarkSpace\\Photos when you want to sync via Wifi again. I created an Automator Workflow to have a quick switch on my mac.
for 2.:
I realized that it weren't the least taken pictures that brought up problems, it were .pngs. First it deletes all *.jpgs because they have no equal in the iPhoto Library and after that it converts the photos all over again -.- Just make sure you don't have .pngs in your iPhoto Library and the sync should just work fine.
-> what a buggy program -.- sometimes I wish my iTunes/iPhone sync back.
bye Smirny
hi all,
for a while i am looking for a way to automatically sync files between my tablet (on dock) and my windows XP sp3 pc over usb. Looking for a trick to sync over the contents of one specified folder (includng subfolders) on connecting and on changes to the files, very much like windows sync or dropbox but then usb.
reason for usb is that i dont want docs in the cloud, nor can the pc and the tablet be on the same wifi (pc on lan). For some other reason, BT doesnt work either (although paired, no connection can be established). USB should be possible though, at least i thought.
I am aware of the MTP issue, which makes it hard just to use regular sync programs. I found only one windows program that reads mtp stations: pure sync. But that doenst really work, messes up everything this far by making additional copies of the files, trashing others, looping in syncs etc.
Here are some other things i tried and noticed:
- docs to go offers syncing for the full version, however thats one way and doesnt work automatically.
feedback from the guys of docs to go:
Unfortunately, Lenovo tablets are not supported on XP machines. On XP, Lenovo devices fail to provide file/directory names and modification dates for some reason.

- the way it is demonstrated at the lenovo website does not work, probably only does so when connecting to a lenovo laptop. No lenovo utility showing up and cant find a download.
support.lenovo.com/en_NZ/guides-and-manuals/detail.page?DocID=UM014085
(sorry, newbe so no outside links allowed)
- last thing i am tryin but struggling to get working is the app and desktop companion myphoneexplorer (fjsoft.at/en/) I cant get a connection although according to the app my tablet is properly connecter over usb.
- connecting and transferring each file via explorer is a burden. No bookmarks or shortcuts are possible, one has to look for the sub sub sub sub folder every time after reconnection and transferring is not easy as well, often not allowing copy past or accesssing the folder within applications that do not use the windows explorer (e.g. Total commander, sync apps)
- i have read a trick somewhere to connect the tablet using the PTP setting, whereby the DCIM folder is displayed. You allegedly could transfer files (also other than pics) to this folder and after disconnecting you would be able to read them out. But tht didnt work for me, plus the folders were not always accessible nor could i ad a shortcut or bookmark/favourite etc.
Anyone any thoughts on this? would be much appreciated.
