I was wondering, on spec for the phone it says 7.2/2 Mbps, but I'm getting max speed about 2.4/0.3 Mbps even though my ISP is providing HSDPA/HSUPA internet.
What speeds do you get with HD maximum?

I went to http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed and used 1mb download and got 327kbps
what test did you use so I can send comparative results to you
Ps I live in Thailand so internet is not great no HSDPA as far as I know
I ran dslreports test now and got 1344 kbit/s.
Those speeds I mentioned before I tested on desktop computer connected to HTC via USB and using speedtest.net
I get low results with dslreports.com. The fastest download speed I have ever seen was when i connected blackstone to laptop via USB and enabled Internet Sharing. Then on laptop I used www.speedtest.net and got 3.8 Mb/s. Thats pretty good result IMO.
Aha. Way to go. So it's possible.

Speedtest.net is where I usually test the speed but that does not work on the mobile due to java etc.
My bro has just updated to 'N' Router and 50Meg Broadband with Virginmedia and I wonder how this can be shown on my mobile. Where can I go to test the speed that the HD2 is downloading at so I can compare My Belkin125 MIMO router at 20meg Broadband.
I have done the 'N' Cab update and not convinced that it has really made any difference to the speed of downloads.
TIA
Ricco
Hi, you could try http://www.mobilespeedtest.com/. There's a video of an HD2 test here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRlx3bsp0ho.
DSLreports has a mobile speed test as well.
I get around 600+ kbps with my HTC HD2 on T-Mobile US.
i got 1026 Kbps in Austria with HSPA
For best results you have to choose http://www.mobilespeedtest.com/test/huge.php
Then it will test with 2 MB and you will enjou your full HDPA-Speed
EDIT:
Now im getting around 1565

How the...I get 250-350 on an average...I get full 3G signals and all that...
I live at las vegas.
Update: Oh yay. 101kbps. wow. I'm just above dial-up.
Mobilespeedtest gives values all over the place that reflect more of "where are you living?" than "how fast is my connection?"
I get between 1000 and 2000kbps results on my PC, on a 25Mbps line.

What browser for speed tests
I've read that speed tests should be done using Internet Explorer. It seems that Opera and Skyfire use their servers and could impact the results. Could someone say if this is truly the case.
dont bother with mobilespeedtest (well unless you live next door to them)
I've run loads of tests from phone and home (v media) and their results are always different and always slow.it reads my ten meg bb as never better than 2 or 3 meg.don't have an alternative though, sorry.

Yeah, every speed test seems to suffer in this area.

certainly for sky fire, yes, they are connecting completely on your behalf.opera is a bit different cos it doesn't always user the proxy(think theres a difference between opera mobile and opera mini, plus turbo mode in the new version...)
course, tethering the comp and running speedtest.net (always been bang on for me) from the comp would work.
In the default Opera version on the T-Mo US HD2 I got around 600 - 700kbps.
In IE through mobile speed tests right after the opera test I got 4762kbps
I'll have to tether it later and see what speedtest.net says lol.
My current router is the workhorse wrt54gt from Cisco. My iconia runs fast at home. Will I notice significant increases if I upgrade my wireless?
To be honest, I did not notice going from wrt54g to Cisco e4200 dual band n...... quit a difference on my lappy tho. Iconia not so much.

Thanks. My laptops are older with G or on ethernet as are my ps3 and directv dvr's.
I connect my g/f's A500 and my A100 to my 2.4GHz N but never notice any difference. I suppose if you had 100Mbps FiOS or were downloading gigs of files on your LAN to the tab you might notice it.
As far as pure internet access goes, you won't really see a difference. Most people have internet under 54Mbps which is G speed. I use an N router to give higher speeds, because I stream lots of large content and stuff to my laptops and tablet. I can far surpass 54Mbps with the N setup. But the internet speed here is still just 7Mbps.... lol

Unfortunately some routers have limited routing capabilities. You can have 54 Mbps WLAN, 48 Mbps internet, but you'll be able to use only 16Mbps of it. That was the reason I upgraded to 802.11n. If you can utilize all your internet bandwidth and don't use network-heavy applications, there is no point in upgrading.

I see more difference with performance at a distance between an wireless router and computer operating at G standard and one operating at N standard. Possibly because the N routers I have had have been MIMO designs and I haven't had a G router with MIMO transmitters and receivers (not sure they are offered)
Guys: What kind of wifi internet speeds do you get on your acer iconia (using speedtest.net)? I have a real problem. I have a N-router - Linksys wrt150n and a fast comcast connection - 25Mbps. Most of the times I get 30-32 Mbps download with the wired LAN connection (and an upload of 5-6 Mbps). My wireless b/g/n laptop (when tested on speed test) gives me anywhere between 17 - 19 Mbps UP/5-6 Mbps DOWN which seems reasonable to me. However when it comes to Acer Iconia A500 tablet, I only get 1 - 2 Mbps download/4-5 Mbps upload (tested at the same time as laptop). I know iconia is rated b/g/n. So why is there such a difference? almost 1/10th. Is there anything that I am missing? My phone is 5 ghz and there is no interference that I can think of - If there was anything - it should affect the laptop wireless speed too. I have tried Dolphin browser, Opera browser, and the stock browser. Same results.
Please let me know if there is any setting on the tablet that needs to be enabled? Something else? I have fiddled with router settings also - auto vs n-only - almost same results.
Post a screen shot of your fastest speed test or an unbelievable speed for what network your on. Only mobile data 2g 3g 4g... No 200 mbps WiFi connections. Only screen shots.... No "o I once got 500mbps on verizon's 1x network...." liar's!!! Prove it with a screenshot! haha I'd perfer Speedtest.net app.
Hi all,
I am getting only 86 Mbps near my Router, whatever setting I play with. On 2.4 I am getting 65 Mbps.
My 2x2 Ultrabook [Yoga 900], just besides the phone, gets 866 Mbps.
Anyone getting good speeds using the mate 8 or are we all in this together?
My phone has the latest B320 firmware.
I'm getting 210mbps in Normal mode and 180mbps in Intelligent mode.
Hi there
I own a mate 8 also, l29 varriant, my wifi speed is 200mb on a RT-AC1200G+. Curent room is stock b180. My friend who owns a s6 edge took the same speed test from my router and got 400mb+, so i dont know what is up with that but acording to "anandtech.com/show/9878/the-huawei-mate-8-review/9", with the new broadcom chipset ported to this device the speed should be 300+ . I dont know im not a programer but maybe it is limited by the software.
I always seem to get 65mbps on 2.4GHz regardless what speed the AP is. On 5GHz I normally get about 180mbps (this was connecting to an Apple base station)
I was wondering if I was the only one who notice the link speed is only 433 on 5ghz. I have 866 with a s8 on the same router. Any ideas

Different hardware, different Wi-Fi chip inside the Xiaomi, less speed. For a budget phone it's an decent speed. What's your Internet speed anyway at home or where you use the 5ghz?
I'm testing a gigabyte connection and I always test new devices max speed. I'm ok with 433 irl about 250ish. But I get more than 500 on a s8. I was wondering if it was a setting or something. Thanks
Even POCO F1 is 866 Mbps
same here max on 5ghz is 433mb it does max my speed which is 220mb, on 2.4ghz max i get is 67mb, I also came from S8 which on 2.4ghz gave me 120mb , the speed i get is still more then enough for me and how much the device costs can live with that and the range is similar to S8
Thanks
