Does touch3G support the HTC RC E100 wired remote control? - Touch 3G General

Hi all,
I received a little HTC catalog for accessories when i unpacked my touch 3g phone and in the catalog, i could see an RC R100 wired remove control for allowing users to play/pause/play next via extra buttons on the remote control kit.
Anyone here tried it and can confirm if it works ?
Does it require extra drivers to be installed?
thanks,

XDA with TV Remote 5.5 didn't work

I got my XDA II (Chinese Version) and try to use TV Remote 5.5. However, I tried using the built-in profile (Panasonic TV), no response. I tried to learn from the remote, but it couldn't learn and 'Time Out".
Is there any setting needed to be set to use the IR remote function?
sohand
I dont think the IRda on the XDA-II is of the same class as those IRs used by the likes of TVs etc.... sorry, means good Ir data rates but your remote control software will not work.
someone feel free to correct me
XDA II and TV Remote 5.5

Then, how can I use my XDA II as remote control for my tv and dvd?
sohand
I've sent an E-Mail to the TV Remote Controller author regarding about this issue. But no response at all. I've been using it for my XDA for a long time.
i gotten it to work
but the solution was to get as close to the device
as 30cm
which kinda makes the name remote a joke

Rudegar,
You are lucky. I installed the TV remote, but could not send remote signal or learn from a remote control....
Any idea on the setting in the device.
FYI, I can transmit data through the IR...

First: sorry for my english...
The problem is, that the tv remote program cannot connect to the ir port.
but i cannot find why... it might be another program...
i figure that out, when i took an camera to view the ir beam...
when i send an message via ir, i saw the ir beam, but when i send
signals via a tv remote program, i saw nothing...

universal remote with bluetooth

hii all ... i just found a universal remote ... but me ppc dosent have any infrared im using LG KS20 .. dose any one know if it is any other Univesal remote with bluetooth

remote is infra!!!
Panosz!
The answer to your question is yess and nooo!!Unfortunatly you can control only infra devices with universal remote. But in Finnland people had a n experiment with bluetooth, and some of the hous door handle can be opend with bluetooth, but think about the pairing process. It is deadly.I mean work!!
So remote is infra, controlling some starnge things like windows or doors yesssss you can do it with bluetooth, but you need on the other side the receever as well!!
helios
i use SallingClicker alot as a universal remote for my computer. It can control almost anything on your computer (you can create your own scripts)..
Will that work with windows media centre?
works very well with windows media player, but didn't try with media center yet. but you can edit the script easily (javascript)
What about PS3? The PS3 uses a bluetooth remote control which is purchased separately for watching movies and other things. Can we use our bluetooth winmo devices to control a PS3?

Bluetooth Keyboard for HTC touch pro?

Can anyone suggest a good bluetooth keyboard for the touch pro? Im planning to use it for typing down notes. has anybody here been using an external keyboard?
I've got an old foldup stowaway bluetooth keyboard (with a dell label)from thinkoutside - might me 'igo' now. I got working in about 10 seconds on my new touch pro. If you want something portable its great, and even has a little stand hat the tough pro can sit in, on its side or upright. The batteries last for months.
Freedom BT Universal Keyboard
I'm using for several years a BT Universal Keyboard of Freedom, link here
Working very well on my Unviversal, TyTN and TyTN II. Have had some problems with the drivers for WM 6.1. Another problem is getting additional unlock codes for use on your new PPC. I'm waiting now for about 2 weeks to get a new unlock code for my TP. The hardware is very good and the power consumption very little. Recommanded!
I have a Freedom Universal Keyboard that worked great with my Tilt. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to connect to my Fuze, and I've had many emails with tech support from Freedom and so far they haven't come up with an answer. It's not an unlock code issue, they were very prompt to email me a new unlock code when I switched to the Fuze. But for some reason, my Fuze won't recognize the keyboard.
I got spoiled having this keyboard with my Tilt, would take it to meetings, etc and type away rather than writing notes. I've got to figure out a new option for a keyboard.
I also have the Freedom Universal Keyboard, and it connected to my Fuze immediately with no issues (as opposed to my old Kaiser, which took multiple tries). Are you connecting with SPP or HID profiles? I connected with HID -- WM6 has HID drivers installed so you don't have to install any software.

I connect using HID. Do you mean that you don't run the BtHID software that Freedom Input keeps sending to me and having me install?
Seeking a portable keyboard for HTC Touch Pro and the formula to enable it
If any reader of this post would know where i might purchase a portable key board compatible with the HTC Touch Pro and what the formula, if such type keyboard exists, is, via which to enable such keyboard so that it can be used with an HTC Touch Pro, if whomever might have such information, would share such with me, i would be most grateful.

Exactly -- I use the software built into WM6. Not using the
driver means that the programmed keys don't work (i.e. the shortcuts for launching apps), but I'm OK with that.
If you want something small, get yourself a FrogPad - they are one handed keyboards. Might take a little time to learn, but it wouldn't be too difficult. I've got a Bluetooth model here from my office, so I might test it out in the near future.

How do you use the software built into WM6.1 to connect? I tried not using their software and just turning on the keyboard, but nothing happened? Could you walk me through what you do, if anything to get the keyboard to connect to the Fuze?
I didn't do anything special. I just turned the keyboard on in HID mode, pressed the pairing button (the round one with the letter B), and then put the Fuze into discovery mode (add new device in BT connection). The Fuze saw the keyboard, and asked for a passcode (I entered 0000). and promptly connected to the keyboard.

HD2 + mobile remote + PS3

Hi,
I try the mobile remote application but it says that there is a connection error (bluetooth have to be enable and machine paired).
So, i enable bluetooth + "visible device option" but ps3 and htc hd2 don't "see" each other in the htc bluetooth software.
Does someone tell me how I can pair ps3 and htc hd2?
Thanks
same problem with mobileremote
As posted by the developer of the MobileRemote on their support forums, the non-Microsoft Bluetooth-stack on newer HTC phones (Touch Pro2 and onwards) breaks the compatibility of MobileRemote. According to the developer there's not much he can do, other than offer a full refund to those affected.
Unfortunately I'm not aware of any other solutions for hd2 and ps3 pairing
are there any other soft bluetooth keyboards/remote controls like mobilesrc remotecontrol? I find it extremely useful and miss it a lot...
nothing new about it?
I just get an error message at the start of mobile remote on my HD2 and connecting to my pc doesnt work

(Dev request) Sixaxis Bluetooth Gaming Mod

So I was looking at Engadget today when I stumbled across this article. It says that someone got the N900 to play emulators with a PS3 Sixaxis controller. I have no idea about coding, I'm not a programmer. I do know that there are a bunch of talented people here at XDA and was wondering if someone would be willing to take up the challenge.
I know Android is capable of using Bluetooth in ways that weren't intended for phones (eg. The bluetooth keyboard hack), so I'm optimistic. I have a Saphire 32B, but I'm hoping this could be applied to all android phones that don't have physical keyboards. What say you XDA? Are you willing, and is it possible?
Bump. Just saw this too.
It certainly should be possible with Android.
Here is some more info on how they got it to work on the N900, involves some linux apps to pair the controller.
Maybe we can work together to crack this nut? Maybe move this topic into the more general Android Software Development thread.
Possible use cases:
1- Turn your Android into a PS3 controller (switch on PS3, menu navigation or even keyboard input)
2- Use a Bluetooth controller/keyboard on the Android (like with N900)

What I'm hoping will come out of this is number 2, as I don't own a console. As I said I'm not a coder, so this is way above my head. And it doesn't have to be a PS3 controller either. A Wii or a 360 controller would be fine, too. I just want to be able to play my NES games on my phone. (No multitouch really sucks).
still hoping and wishing for a Windows Mobile port...
Or an android port to the Touch Pro2 that has Bluetooth and Sound...

Why did you buy the Android phone then, if you're into WinMo
If you are interested in alternatives to the MSI or Chainpus BGP100 bluetooth gamepad, google search "modded by bacteria" go to the "work in progress" section of his forums, and search for the thread "Re-housed Bluetooth controller". The creator of the site, Bacteria, will be transplanting the innards of the BGP100 into an SNES controller. Previously, he has transplanted it into a PS1 controller. It seams feasible to DIY into almost any controller housing.

You misunderstood.
I didn't buy an Android phone.
There is a port of Android that runs on the Touch Pro2 but it does not have Bluetooth or TV Out. So I either need a way to connect a sixaxis to WinMo or a new port of Android for TP2 that supports TV Out and Bluetooth.
hard part is over
the sixaxis connects and sends data
now I just need to map out what to do when each button is pressed
currently works on windows mobile devices with a widcomm bt stack
I plan to make it work for the M$ stack as well but I'll have to borrow a phone with it from work cuz I don't have one any more
working on Touch Pro2 and HTC HD2 at the moment
I was so frickin happy when I finally got it to connect and send data
Nice to see progress on this. If this was on another forum it would see more activity.
Would be awesome. Especially on the mytouch. its only a matter of time

Any progress on the android Sixaxis/duelshock 3 app ??
I'm working on an Android/PS3 controller app. I have a method of changing the Bluetooth master address on the controller, but I haven't yet been able to get Android to see it. If I just knew what the controller was sending when you hit the PS3 button, I might be able to make Android listen for that.

Once the master address is set to your phone, pressing the PS button will cause the controller to send connection requests to your phone. Listen for devices, no authentication, with hid guid on psm 17 accept the connection request, then psm 19, accept that request, then write .... something can't remember... I have to go back to my code... to set the LEDs so they stop flashing and another code to tell the controller to start sending data. Once u r successful the controller constatntly sends packets of 50 bytes continuously describing the state of the controller, tilt, which buttons are down, up, etc so you just need to check for changes react accordingly. I'm handling verything on the L2CAP layer in WinMo. sending keydown and keyup events....
