Switching to new SD card - Looping! - G1 General

Hello everyone,
Okay I only had a 1GB Class 6 SD partition 250ext2/750fat32
1GB wasn't enough so I just bought a 4GB SD. I partitioned the new SD and used LucidREM instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3522300&postcount=4
Indeed everything from the old ext2 has transferred to the new ext2. But it is continuously looping on the android screen!
How can I fix this? Is there different instructions I need to follow?

Got it working by partitioning with paragon using

First off, format your card as fat32, boot up, does it loop?
Narrow it down before assuming.

Format SD card

Hi.
I'm trying to run Android on my Polaris. But i think the SD card isn't formatted correctly as the boot process stop with an error regarding readng from the SD card.
Does any of you know of a program for the Polaris (cab ??) so I can format the SD card while in the phone (lack of adaptor!!)?.
Best regards,
Nicolai
There are 3 thread dedicated to android !!!
And your question must be in general question of xda forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=456
Hi.
Yes I know that. The question wasn't really an Android question but more howto format the card whilst in the phone.
Sorry if I was unclear.

Cyanogen NAND on HD2 SD card trouble.

Hi, I recently flashed my 1st ROM, an Android rom to my HD2. I followed a guide in a recent edition of Micro Mart magazine. Everything went great & the rom is up & running, the only problem i'm having is with the SD card. I just get a notification saying 'SD card damaged'.
I've looked around on the forums & i've read numerous threads on SD card problems but I don't know which is relevant to my problem. The SD card works fine in other devices, just not on the Android rom. Im using the Cyanogen 'gpc_hd2_gingerbread_v1.7' NAND rom. Do i have to create an ext3 partition to get my SD card recognised?
Sorry for another SD card thread but this is my 1st time flash & Android rom so I really dont know about these ext partitions and how they are supposed to work!
Thanks for any advice in advance,
Tom
You might want to reformat your SD card. Get your SD card out and format it to fat32(important) using a card reader. Also make sure to backup your SD.
Try that.
Sorry I forgot to mention I tried it from a fresh format in windows, although I've read about the Panasonic formater so I could give that a go when I get home.
Yes you might want to reformat your SD card I suggest you use this software to format it. Also make sure you do a full wipe and format it using Fat 32.
One more thing is have you checked to see if your Android is mounting your SD card? When you boot your HD2 up and you see the Android lock screen appesr do you see it say preparing your SD card at the top of the screen?

Yes I remember seeing it saying preparing but then it just switches to the damaged notification. If I then select that, it brings up a box saying it may need to be formatted but selecting that doesn't seem to do anything, the damaged notification just stays there.
I've got it working. I followed the guide in this thread & it worked 1st time. Just follow it carefully and slowly

Why my HD2 android won't start with my SD card?

My HTC HD2 works with my Transcend 4 GB microSD card, but it won't android won't boot up with my 8 GB Verbatim microSD card. Do I need to format it or something? Thanks!
Are you sure you have the correct set up ? (Files are copied to their destinations)
Try to format it to FAT32, and try again.
I`have just formated it to FAT32 and still the same problem. What files are you talking about?
PS: Sorry to bother you with "stupid" questions, I am pretty noob in this
I have read that Verbatim SDCards can cause problems in the build; booting or running, SanDisk is your best bet, but you may still be able to get it running,
Im not a dev; just brought SanDisk as a result of this,
Alex

It depends on many factors. Which Android Rom do you want flash, does this need Ext 3/4 Partition on the SD Card ? Do you have flashed the right partition size ? Read the installation instructions of Rom you wants to flash, there you mostly find all information.
Are you talking about NAND or SD? If NAND, make sure the ext partition is set up correctly, as this is where a lot of the apps are stored. If SD, then I would assume you know how to install an SD build so it could be a problem with the SD card being incompatible as alex.odell.2011 said.
I've had similar problems sometimes with my SD card; my HD2 wouldn't boot unless I took the card out then put it back in once it was booted. The only thing that I thought might cause it is something CWR related on the SD card, since I had used it in my Hero and Droid 1 as well to flash ROMs to them. It was a class 4 16 GB Sandisk, if that helps at all.

[Q] SD card partition problem

So I am running CM7 off of an sd card in my nook color.(Using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1904129 and I highly recommend). Win32discimager for some reason created a small partition just larger than the installer which remains on the card. I also have the android OS on the card that is taking up 1 gb partition. The rest of my 16gb micro sd card is labeled as the emmc for the tablet which is not what i intended. Now I cant load it up with my movies and videos like I had hoped.
Does anyone know:
Is there any way I can change these partitions on my card? (I have already tried EasuUS partition manager)
Where did the 1gb partition that android is on come from and why did the emmc get so large?
Is there any way to take the android image currently on my sd card and just putting onto the nook after I have already had it run from the sd card and then just formatting my sd card for storage?
There are probably newbie questions but I have tried to do my own research and havent found any certainties. Any help would be really appreciated.

Ok, first you need to go to my tips thread linked in my signature and read in section B how the verygreen SD works. You will understand the partition structure a little better.
Now for your sdcard/emmc media storage problem, you have a setting wrong in CM7. Go to settings, CyanogenMod settings, Application and uncheck "Use internal storage". What that setting does is swap emmc and sdcard so that your real sdcard is called emmc and internal media storage is called sdcard. It is not default that way. Somehow it got checked.

Hi ClubBase, welcome to the forum.
Which sd build are you trying to install?
You could try formatting your card with https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
