WM 6.5 -> no shutdown - Touch GSM General

Hello,
i have flashed my HTC Touch to WinMo 6.5.
Win 6.5 works great! Except one thing, i can't shut down my device!
If i press the power button i get the standard-Message from Windows (the message looks like HTC Touch-Flo 3D), that if i shut down my files i haven't saved yet will deleted...
Then i press "Yes" and then... nothing... i'm back in my home-screen...
Anybody an idea?

I had this problem, just back up your files and do a hard reset
(this is done by pressing the reset button, then holding down the red and green buttons. Then when it asks you if you want to do a hard reset, press the middle button)

Reinstall windows

I WAS WONDERING HOW I COULD REINSTALL WINDOWS ON MY DEVICE AS I CANT SWITCH IT ON. IN FACT I CAN SWITCH IT ON BUT WHEN IT TRYIES TO ENTER THE WINDOWS SHOWS A WHITE SCREEN ONLY AND DOESNT START PROPERLY AND THEN A BLACK SCREEN AGAIN.
PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO.
For god sakes, stop typing in capitals.
Hold down the Comm+Voice buttons while pressing the reset button. Then release the reset button. Keep your fingers on the Comm+Voice button until it says "Push send to format"... then press the bottom left button on the front of the device (i.e. the green telephone button). It will say FAT format complete then it will reboot. Wait about 2 minutes for it to repopulate the device's ROM.
There, you have a factory-fresh device.

My wizard dosnt respond -HELP

hi, after instaling pretty much of applications on my wizard it just stopped respond. if u do a soft reset it boots but freezest on todays screen and thats it. there is a massage dispalied "low memory". i cannot do a hard reset, upgrade rom anything. is there any other way to perform a hard reset ?? (i tried comm mnr+voice+plus soft reste) HELP !!!

Some people have joy with - turn off - press and hold comm, record and camera buttons and press power on.
If that fails you should be able to flash your device with the same rom. Turn off, press camera button and hold then press power button and bootloader multicolored screen should come up. Connect via usb to pc and reflash rom.

Colored Screen after WM6 Softreset

Hello everyone,
the last days i am trying to flash my Blue Angel up to WM6 (WM5 would be OK too).
I tried about 1001 times to get into the boot options, but everything i could see was this /%&§ colored screen.
However, i managed to get it an installed WM6 sucessfully.
But now my Problem:
After softreset WM6 was gone and everything i could see, was this %&$§" colored screen again!
Back to 2003SE works fine.
I tried it many times again, stuck at the colored screen, after 1001 tries i managed it again to get into the boot options, and the same again, softreset ad wm6 was gone.
Anyone out there who can give me a hint, what to do?
I was wondered to see only the R 1.10.00 on the colored Screen.
Whats with P an G? Do i need it for WM6? Where to get it? Need i special versions for WM6?
Thanks for help guys!
I think you were doing just right, read WiKI steps more carefully for setting No Yes Yes and then pressing message button.
I was really... really really shure, that i did it right.
But you made me so confuse, that i read the Wiki again and again.
Testet it, and ist the same problem...
Just this morning, my XDA fell down, the battery disconected and all of my data were lost.
Might it be a problem with the internal battery?
Or is it normal, that every data wil be lost, if the battery is removed?
1. You did not made proper hard reset in WM5/6, that's why it could not boot. No suprise here.
2. Yes, read the manual - lack of power = HardReset in PPC2003. If your backup battery is dead (nothing special in such an old device) even a while without battery kills the memory. New BA holds the data just for few minutes.
After the flash process finished with 100%, i resetted with softreset and holding the power button. Isn't that the hard reset?
The windows software says, that the internal battery is 100% loaded but it made me a little confuse, that all the data was lost.
I really read the wiki
Could you send us the link to "wiki" that you were reading?
man, you really have plenty of time doing as much as 2k+ resets.
anyways... you need to hard reset your BA.
use the record+camera combination for hard reset.
like i posted in this link
hope that works
From the WIKI:
When the upgrade is completed, you must perform a Hard Reset
Press and hold the "Power" button, and then press the Reset Button. Colored stripes (the bootscreen) will appear on the screen.
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, EITHER:
Quickly press "Record" & "Camera" before the versions appear at bottom right
OR press "Power" & "Camera" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66:
Quickly press "Record" & "Windows Media" before the versions appear at bottom right EITHER
OR press "Power" & "Windows Media" & "Record" buttons and Reset at the same time
You'll see three options on screen. You must change the second and the third to yes.
If you have a PH20B device such as MDAIII, QTEK 9090, XDAIIs, PDA2K etc, use "Camera" and the "Record" buttons.
If you have a PH20B1 device such as SX66, use "Windows Media" and the "Record" buttons.
Note: The "Record" button moves up and down the menu and the "Camera" button toggles Yes/No. When you're done, press the button in the middle of the D-Pad to continue booting or press the "Mail" button. A white screen will show for 30 seconds, while it is clearing your device in preparation for the new ROM to start executing
When the bootscreen, aka. the colored stripes is displayed, wait more, you are booting. The welcome screen to set up your device will appear shortly ...

Hi there;
To get into the bootloader mode, switch phone off and then hold the red/green answer buttons, and then power up the phone, hold this down until you get the 3 different colours on the screen.
*By the way, if anyone more experienced wishes to correct me, feel free*
*Damn Doublepost*
To enter the bootloader:
Hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus. Keep holding the camera button until you see 'tricolor' bootloader screen.
An alternative way to enter bootloader:
Switch the device off by long pressing O/I (power) button. hold down the camera button while pressing the O/I button about 1 second. Keep holding the camera button until you see 'tricolor' bootloader screen.
Alternative(universal?) bootloader(3)
As almost all htc smartphones with onboard camera, when you push and hold the camera(photo) button, and plug in usb adapter. Even a "stupid" usb power adapter will work.
To hard reset:
Hold down send/reject buttons (green/red at the front) and reset with the stylus; release the stylus but keep holding the buttons till you get 'this will erase all your personal data' message, then press 'action' (big front button) to hard reset.
Good LUck
Same here

Can't Hard Reset

For some reason I can no longer get cab files to work - When I touch a .cab nothing happens (but if I touch a .exe the program starts OK, .doc opens OK etc).
So I thought I would hard reset but I can't get that to work either.
With phone off, press and hold up/down volume and then briefly press power button - I get HTC splash then (briefly) a black screen then windows starts then the volume pop-up opens and the phone beeps until I release the volume button.
If I press and hold up/down volume and then press and hold power button it goes into bootloader.
Does anyone know if Clear Storage restores registry settings as well as clearing phone storage (ie is it the same thing as a hard reset)
Or why .cab files no longer install software?
are you running stock ROM?
