Hi, has anyone seen a car mount with inbuilt charger for the tytn ii that supports mugen power 3000 mAh extended battery?
can't seem to find one anywhere... the closest i've seen is the brodit active car mount...but not sure if it will support the extra sized battery.
cheers.

There has been many questions regarding XDA chargers and using them with the XDA2. I have several from my XDA I and want to use them for my XDA2.
Looks like the voltage is the same 5 volts, the connections are also the same. It comes down to Amps. The old charger was 1 amp, I bought after market plugin and car adapters, they list the amps as 850 mA.
OK so the XDA2 is a larger battery but comes with a 2 A adapter.
Here is the big question. What negative affect will using the 1 AMP charger or the 850 mA car charger on the XDA2. Will it just take longer to charge? Will it damage the battery in any way?
XDA DEVELOPER PLEASE HELP!
It takes longer to charge
it will charge slower, i use my xda1 chargers on my xda2 with no problems
I've found that my usb charger will not charge the XDAII if the backlight is set to max brightbess.
I have the Seido GPS ready car mount for my old iPAQ 5550. This connected to my iPAQ via a USB connector about 4" long. The Seido gets power from the car adapter.
I'm not expecting the connector to fit my new XDAII, but am wondering whether a XDAII USB autosync cable will still power (ie charge) my XDAII ?
The USB autosync cable i'm thinking of is this...

Thanks in advance
PS does anyone know how long this cable is? IE 10 inches, 25, or 3-4 inches which would be ideal for me
Looking at the ad I would say the answer is no, it seems to e a sync cable rather than a sync/charge cable. You need the latter.
I bought a seidio powered mount for my xda and when I junked it out (for various reasons) I kept the small USB -> XDA cable. It charges my xda II fine from a cigarette lighter adapter.
I used to have an iPAQ H5555 before moving to the XDA II. Funny thing is that the voltage and current ratings of chargers for both units is the same, the USB dongles even LOOK the same but unfortunately the internal USB connections are different.
I bought a Seidio travel charger kit for my iPAQ and am still waiting on feedback from Seidio if they are going to release a XDA II USB dongle so that I can still use the travel pack.
My Compaq/HP in car charger had a removable USB dongle so I am currently using the dongle that came with my XDA II on the end of my Compaq/HP in car charger and it is working fine.

Have ordered an 8" USB Sync/Charging cable from Seidio...

Should do the trick (fingers xrossed).
Have 3 devices.... which when used with two different car charger cables and several vehicles give the following consistent results:-
1. O2 Atom - Doesn't recognise any external power
2. HP rw6828 - Recognises external power, shows battery charging but the battery discharges rapidly
3. Dopod 818 Pro - Recognises external power, shows battery charging and does charge
Any ideas would be appreciated as both O2 and HP seem unable to help.
did you try both:
1. adapter
2. USB charging?
Hi,
Same problem for me on atom. I think the atom is a power hungry device, you'll need much more power from the car charger. I bought an excellent item from boxwave, called versacharger pro. (http://www.boxwave.com/products/versachargerpro/index.htm)
With a simple usb cable, it charges in my car really fast, and works perfectly too as a wall charger. It isn't cheap, but worth the money.
Hope it helps!
I have a Dell X51v which I use as GPS. I bought a Sedio Car kit cradle which has a DC out port so I can charge my Holux GPSlim 236. The charging cable to the Holux has a standard mini usb connection.
My question is: Can I use the same cable to charge my Trinity?
Personally I can't see why not, but my knowledge is very limited on the subject.

Maybe, you have to check the output voltage of your charger with the intake of the device. For example my Tytn charger delivers 5V/1mAh to the device, so if a car charger matches that should be ok.
The battery (I have not access to the chargers for the next week) for Trinity says "Rating: 3.7 VDC === 1500mAh" and the Dell battery says "Rating: 3.7 V === 1100mAh". Both are Li-ion batteries. I would interpret this to mean that the same charger can be used, it will just take a little bit longer to get fully charged. Is this correct?

Done a brief search on here and cannot find the answer to my question.
I have a standard car charger which I used with my my XDA Orbit (Artemis) - i'm presuming I can use this with the Touch HD? Just that I read that the connector is slightly different on the THD....
I'm also quite tempted to get one of these CC-C100 models with the HTC logo at the top (i'm not vein, honest ). Would these would work too?
May sound like a stupid question with an obvious answer, as I know they all have the generic mini-USB connector, but just wanted clarification.
Thanks
I was wondering the same.
I picked up somewhere that the normally unused B pin of the 5 pin mini USB needs to be connected to ground to enable 2Amp charging. Othewise it may max out at 500mA. So many of the chargers sold as HTC compatible will work but will not charge full rate.
The nice one with the HTC logo do have a ExtUSB connector and are rated for 2000mA so should work full charge. I am waiting for my eBay order to come in to validate.
Any miniusb car charger should work. I bought a satnav car charger and it works fine.
