I know it already exists one, but its not customizable in what folder to show.
My ideia is to mix some of the already available plugins out there.
The Favorite People plugin already has the show picture part done.
And the System and Weather plugins use mortcript for some extra tweaking.

I was thinking of a simple softkey button that allows the user to choose a folder (with a browse layout).
And a simple mortscript code to list all the available images on that folder, saving it to a text file database or so.
The plugin would have 3 pages (previous, current and next image). Then, as you scroll left or right, the mortscript would change the name of the images on the plugin pages to make a circular order (or random, if that extra setting existed).
The size of the pictures would be much bigger than the current one, like the plugin changes that theDaniel (used here as an example) and KerMiT80 already made. The picture date of creaton would be a nice detail, as shown in the example, but that would probably give much more work than necessary, so it would probably not appear.
Instead, the plugin could show the full count of the images inside that folder, and what number is showing at the moment.
The condensed view could show a text with a picture icon saying "x pictures in folder Y", being X the total number of pictures inside and Y the folder name or path.
And, of course, if you click on the picture it would pop-up the "picture viewer" showing that image.
This would be pretty easy for me to do in flash, but outside flash, not so much...
So, does anyone want to do this? I can help on the CPR editing, some of the registry code and do the dinamyc picture frame with a small shadow...
Someone is already making such plugin, rpereira is designing a slideshow picture plugin with a specified folder.
Thats great news, where did you read that?

Hi twolf,
It's the thread below where we were discussing the picture slideshow.
rpereira posted a video example of what was possible too.
I personally can't wait for this to be available.

I tried to modify HTC Home, because it is IMHO to big. I only need the Home Tab so i wondered if it might be possible that the tab selection is not being displayed to save some Space (in the pic is shown what i want to be displayed).
The greatest thing at all would be if only the Files needed for the Home Tab would be installed. But that is not necessary at all, because i would be able to figure that out by myselfe and create that cab file.

Maybe someone knows an other application, that is able to display that i desire. Or a SMS, Email, and Call Notification as plugin for Pocket Plus as Icons that can be plased free into the Tabs.
I'm looking forward for your help
Greets so far.
rltoday has a skin that will do what you want. Free program that works very well.
rltoday still have bugs, It can not work properly in my hima I have given feedback to the creator
It would be much nicer if the area you want to disappear could appear and disappear by selecting the tabs. That means when you click onces on the Home tab the clock display appears when you click it again it will disappear. And that way for all Tabs of HTC Home, that would be a great development for the HTC HOME.

Why? Cause what he wants to do is not possible with Home Customizer.
AFAIK it is not possible at all yet.
I would really like it if it was possible. Ideally with the custom if there's only 1 tab used the tab bar should disappear... It would be perfect
If rlToday doesn't bug for you, you really should give it a try.
I've been using it in place of HTC Home for weeks now, and never looked back.
It looks better, smaller, more customizable... simply awesome
Should check out the skins made by a person known as FOXCAT:

Thnx for your help so far.
RLtody seems to be a nice tool with great capabilities. Unfortunatly the HTC Theme doesnt work for me. It gives me odd graphics, but i havnt had the time yet to change the skin.xml for my needs.
But I'm shure i'll get what i want from this app. Indeed i'll get more i've ever hoped when starting the thread (A today plugin, exacly like i want it and fully customizable).
@PAPPL
It isn't possible to do what i want with any customize tool for HTC Home, because all that they are capable of is changing the reg keys in HKLM\Software\HTC\HTC Home and replace the Images. For both i dont need any tool at all. But there isnt any reg key (at least i found none) that is responsible for the task i want. Nor did i find the place of the prog, where the graphics are defined. I think the only way to find that out is to get a hand onto the sourcecode. But i dont know anything at all of reverse compilation.

Not too sure what you are looking for here, but you might give HTCPlus! a try. I find it a bit smaller and does what I am looking for.
Is it possible to use a flash file as a Today Screen plugin?
I would like to develop a highly interactive/visually appealing today plugin in flash, but not sure what program I could make it run in (RLToday/WAD/etc).
Any thoughts would be good. A video example of a similar "look" I am thinking about can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3BeSG-aKLo
looks like "Itask" that i found last weeks on wisbar-site
in Skin-section, is it ?
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11402&highlight=itask
If you can develop a flashplugin like this or similar, be my guest and please try
Yes, that is a video of iTask in action.
Yea, it's iTask. Nice look to it, however, I'm not going for the iPhone feel. The other thing I don't care for is that it is a separate program. That's why I wondered if there is a today plugin that supports Flash. I'll keep searching...
I made a few tests with Pocket Theme Manager 2.
it creates a htm and uses your swf file and ataches them to a .tsk theme file.
All files are stored in \windows with the "a2tk" filenames.
Unfortunelly you have limits to the size and background of the html.
try my theme:

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
you need to install first:
flash player 6/7: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer_pocketpc/
Pocket Theme Manager 2: http://handheld.softpedia.com/get/Skins/Pocket-Theme-Manager-19326.shtml
my theme: http://rapidshare.com/files/3759884/TW.tsk.html
you have in this theme a clock, a drawing pad and a small calculator. you also have a animated 3d logo and a small picture (unfortunelly mine, hehehe) it was suposed to be changed to a dinamic png loaded from "my documents". All these are draggable so you can place them wherever you want on the limited screen, have fun...
Still waiting to anyone to create a nice flash today plugin, imagine all the nice gadgets you can have there...
So...who now has most experience in Flash ?

actually, my problem is that there is no good flash today plugin to start with...
I can make flash do a lot, see here:
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&loc=en_us&extid=1022966
I made a small alternative menu/OS in flash for my old N-Gage...
But WM just doesnt have a good flash player
Why does it need to be a today plugin? eg Slither's cube launcher.
actually that not a today plugin, its wisbar desktop which you can run in top of today screen. made by rhov23
http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11402&highlight=itask
flash can be used on today with activetoday AND macromedia flash installed.
just make html with swf...set that html in activetoday and it should work..
a flash today plugin is a today plugin that displays swf files...
or, even simpler, a today plugin that displays a html file that calls a swf. in this case all you will loose is part of the background image from the tsk file (as said above).
but the best and fastest way would be to just have the swf file read on the plugin, without the html file.
imagine your today plugin with a image gallery like in this page:
http://twolf.planetaclix.pt/ogamico/
where you can stock, drag, amplify or diminish the photos.
You would have flash gadgets on your today screen...
you want me to imagine it on 320x240 qvga screen LOL??
yeah, done.
sorry, omaps and probably qualcomms are lame with swfs... only thing i need is xscale CPU goddamn...
btw, really, try activetoday with matched swf to realize what potential it has(you need macromedia flash 7 - no mf7 no go...but it is quite ok, in general). just make empty html with swf inside..
Just posted a message to the developer of RLToday to see if he would include SWF support. I believe he is worried it would make the program too fat - but it's worth a try. Some of the other progs I have looked into don't really give us the coding ability like a RLToday.
Another interesting program would be to get our hands on Flash Home by Adobe. Says they only provide it to OEM developers, but wow - that could really open up the development.
Flash OS
I don't know if any of you have seen this, but it's a flash OS. it's still in the early stages but does give me some ideas on making wm6 somewhat pretty.

Hello everybody !
After numerous attempts to customize my HTC trinity for a thumb-based experience, I finally got onto some applications that really do the job :
- Tene's PocketCM for the contacts
- ArticCat's OTO for the calendar (works well so far, however I hope to see more of it soon)
- Paulya's Vista II dialer replacement
- A_C's S2U for the lock and S2V for the pics viewer
- HTC's PhonePad for the SIP and Mediaplayer for the music player
- SPB's Mobile Shell for the navigation and the menus.
What I'm missing is a launcher that would work as a today plugin, and that would support large icons in PNG format (thus, with alpha transparency). By "big" I mean "larger than the default 32x32 pixels that all launchers support" - 48 or 60 pixels beeing the size I'm after (something large enough for my fat thumbs ). I don't need tab support, since there are only a small number of apps I want to access from the today screen (typically 8-12).
Do you know if anything that'd meet my needs exists for WM5? Even for a small/reasonable fee (means, around 10-15$) ?
Thanks a million in advance !
I think i used claunch to put a really big shortcut (64x64px) on my todayscreen
Greetings, Vi
ThrottleLauncher
Search for the ThrottleLauncher thread here. No Today plugin yet but all indications are that it will be coming. Great launcher, you can size the rows the pictures are in to any size you wish. I am using 56picsels by 56picsels.
pocketage - no size limit
I tried to install PocketAge from the latest CAB I could find on this board, but something must have gone bad... My Trinity is now stuck as reboot
Everytime I soft-reset it, it got stuck then block at the following step :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",

}
Of course, none of the hard or soft buttons work and I can't dismiss this reminder. I tried to remove the corresponding event from outlook but I couldn't manage to sync the device. I noticed I can access the device filesystem. One strange thing, though, makes me thing that the system is not completely frozen : the clock on the reminder changes and shows the correct time.
Any idea how to recover my phone without having to hard-reset it ? Thanks !!!

i gave it a shot given the time i had available..
its not perfect but its not as easy to work with a jpeg as compared to png icons
anyway in the screenshot below i dont have a background for the clock, so thats why only the numbers can be seen
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Download the zip file. There are 2 folders. "Numbers" contains ONLY the numbers in the screenshot. "Transparant Clock Background" has the files required to make it look just like in the screenshot
1. Deactivate TF3D
2. Open total commander (or anything that can modify system files)
3. Copy the manila files to the Windows directory on your phone.
4. Reactivate TF3D
I cant make cabs at the moment so in case you cant do this maybe someone can pack it...

hey, i was just wondering if there was a way to make the bottom curtain in TF3D invisible so you can see the background, but at the same time only show that part of the background, and not things that overflow behind the curtain, such as "About" in the Settings tab (see below).... maybe a way of tricking the manila, or by buliding up a few layers to compromise of the curtain.... i dunno, just a thought

cheers for the reply, but i already know about the different curtains availabale and how to edit manila files etc, i was jus wondering if there was a way to create a manila file, where the bottom curtain is the same as the bottom part of a background, thus eliminating overflow in tabs, but also maximising wallpaper space...

hi, the picture you posted is not about a curtain or something. it is part of the team glassflo3D. all the tabs are invisible except for the one selected. take a look at the link below. what you could do is download the glassflo3d theme and compare the manilla files with a stock one for example to see the modifications.

Yes you can, you need to download any bottomcurtain file, open it in manilla editor or cfc gui, export the image and replace it with the part of the wallpaper that the bottomcurtain covers. after that, replace the image in the manila file, disable tf3d and copy the manila to windows.
It's a lot of work though for just a change in two tabs, but if you really want it, it's possible.
Grtz
im also experiencing this problem any ideas except of this one above?

that wont work as the manila file is a certain size... it jus repeats it self along the curtain.
