mobile shell 3 battery issues? - XPERIA X1 General

has anyone had huge battery drain from using mobile shell? since i installed mobile shell 3, my battery drops from 100% to about 70% in less than 2 hours. all i do is a little bit of texting here and there.

Have you tried searching before you posted? Usually this problem occurs when you're using the leaked, free version.

yea i did search, but i guess the terms i used didnt come up woth anything. but anyways, im using the full purchased version. its weird though, the first day i used it, it didnt drain that fast, i jsut noticed these past 2 days that it had been draining, especially to music. first time i used it, it onyl drained about 2 % after lsitenign for 15 minutes, not after 15 mintues it drains like 10%

Battery drain on spb shell 3
Hi bknewtype,
I have been using spb mobile shell 3, for about a month, and battery
use is as good as i have ever had. I top up every 2 days, and am never lower
than 30%.
Dan

hm... maybe You have auto update on weather switched on or something... I don't know. I run ms3 and pocket plus 4 + some other bits like card export II and my battery usage is just the same as without them.

what's your average battery life?

hey guys, i just got my wing last week, but it feels like my battery life is really low (with moderate use).
i have opentouch 6.5 lite + s2ul and get barely 1 day. could you drop what you guys are getting so i can figure where i stand? and if you have any tips on whats wrong then any advice would be welcome also of course.
thanks all.
I only got my wing about 2 months ago and had been using just the stock ROM that came with it this whole time, id usually get about 2 days out of it. Which is cool considering how much texting i do throughout the day.
Anyhow, Im a total noob at this flashing roms thing, but i just flashed to Open Touch v3.0 Biggy last night, not overclocked though, still running at 201mhz. Its been about 13 hours since i unplugged from a full charge and im down to 69%. I have been constantly fiddling with it since

I'm running open touch 6.5 and I'm overclocked to 283 and i get about 2 to 2.5 days out of it with normal usage.
Is WiFi always on? That'll drain it faster than Speedy Gonzales.
I can get 4 days out of it, but i've got a ridiculous battery.
I depends on what I'm doing. If I'm at work a lot of times I play music over bluetooth to my speakers. If I'm doing that I get about half a day and I'm at 30%. But thats also with texting and web browsing. If I'm not doing any of that I'm I go about 2 days.

4 days???? Do you have a different battery? I would assume it's a little bigger physically?
no actually its stock and its new and 4 days is when i do absolutely nothing with it
Well, duh. If I don't do anything with it, mine lasts 4 days, too. If I actually use it, no more than 2. Much less if I turn on wlan.
heres what i find to help my battery out a lot.
make sure you have wifi on ONLY when you need it, i have it in my home, but don't rly use it every on my wing cuz my laptop works perfectly fine and i feel like the total internet add on is fast enough.
install schaps advanced configuration tool and under power management make sure the first four options are enabled (default is disabled) and then under bluetooth (i dont EVER use bluetooth) disable obex. when you finish it should ask you to soft reset.
if all this ISNT done i notice my battery drain like crazy, but with this it rly does make a lot of a difference. hope this helps

Thanks For [email protected] Tip, But It All Depends On What You Use Your Phone 4. If Im Texting And IMing Alot, Ill Usually Get Thru The Day, But Itll Have Me Worried @ Night If I Have No Charger. But If I Use It Lightly(No AIM) Prolly About 2 Days.
true true
also you should have radio 3.18.90, best battery life with that i have seen. and i can usually get out a couple days with texting, web browsnig, and phone when i have this radio and the schaps tip i mentioned earleir
Depends on what I'm doing, but generally the battery life is somewhere between ok and crappy
I use it for work and personal, so it varies. On the weekend I don't spend that much time on the phone, so it's not bad, easily gets me through the day anyway. During the week, I make and take a lot of calls, do some texting (not much) and send/receive a ton of e-mail on it. So on a bad workday I've drained it almost dead twice. I'm usually either near an outlet or in the car though, so I just keep a charger handy and it works out alright. With the Rom I'm using and my little toys on there it's about as efficient and fun a phone as I've had so far.
Syn
well, i tried configuring with schaps, and battery life did improve a little, but it still only lasts one day. sometimes all i do is text, but still the battery drains so fast. i'm guessing it's the S2UL, as that's the only other factor that i can think of. kinda surprised that someone can reach 4 days, as that would be perfect in my case.. :/

Battery life improvment thread

One of the vital issues of the SE x10 is its battery life, i personally have to charge it once a day under normal use(10mins of browsing, messaging, phonecalls) while my older phones under heavy use lasted over 4 days.
Lets compile a list of remedies to improve battery life, every little bit helps.
Mine are:
Keep charger in my pocket
Close all apps before idleing the phone
Turn off everything wireless exept 2G
Prevent using the latest facebook app(Hogs the battery empty FAST)
I set the CPU's clock at 700/250mhz max min respectively
What are yours?
Use the phone as a phone. Don't carry around the charger, don't use any appkillers or CPU things, never ever turn off 3G, never ever turn off GPS...
I use the Facebook application a little too frequently, I read stuff using the Digg and Engadget apps, update Twitter via Twicca, listen to music via Mediascape, and take several photos.
Oh, and I charge the phone once every couple of days.
Since the last 026 update i have noticed a huge improvement, now lasts ffor about a day and half where used to last about 8 hours. I've stopped using taskkillers now apart from when i've finished playing a big game like need for speed which uses a LOT of ram. Looking forward to the 2.1 update.
Also, i got the 2600ma battery from ebay, bigger, but lasts nearly 2 days!
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
i always cut my web connection and i use taskiller
and my phone lasts also 2 days, but i have the original battery in it
SetCPU is a big help. At the very least throttle your battery when the screen is off.
I just use Data On Demand. No task killers, no startup manager, no root. Firm 026. Bluetooth and 3g on, and my batery (original) last 2 days at least.

Get the recent firmware.

Sounds almost like the kind of solution Apple would give to fix poor reception...
http://www.intomobile.com/2010/07/1...ntenna-issues-advises-carrying-a-spare-phone/
Personally I resolve my battery issue by only turning it on when people want to call me. I've set up a roster with precise times when I'm available for contact. Callers must contact me within a select 5 min window otherwise they must wait until the next one. These are seperated by 2hr hour 'no call' times, as well as a complete call 'blackout' between the hours of 10pm and 6am. If I want to call people, I keep 50c in my pocket and use a payphone.
So far my battery has lasted 8 weeks.

3 hours of talk time a day on ANY smartphone is going to drain the battery. I dont think there is a huge amount you can do really. Sounds like you have done all the sensible things already.
That being said, i am on a RB..26 FW, Rooted with ADW Launcher. I get about 2 days from a charge, using FB app all day long, a few calls a day, several msgs and general playing around with the phone. i dont run any task killers, cpu management tools or even disable 3g connections. maybe i just have a good one

I'm on 26FW too (actually, that's a lie, I just checked, and am on 24)... but anyway, I also use ADW and am on an Australian network, so all thing being equal, I should be getting similar... although I only get about a day and a half... Well, I usually put my phone on charge every night, and it's about 50-60%, but obviously the drain over night would take it a little too low for me to go another full day...
I just bought setcpu from the market. First day with it and juice defender (lite) running it's drained 16% in 12 hours.
Previously, i would be at 40 - 50 % by now.
Of course, you need root for this solution.
Running 020 firmware as i haven't got around to backing up and updating as yet.

You need to make a single change and observe
I used setCPU too, but i had problems with it.
Every 2nd time when i activated my screen and went passed lockscreen, my launcher was forced to a close.
This procedur has been with differents launcher like ADW, GDE, default launcher.

Does rooting help the battery life alone without any apps? And how?
I went ahead and got the Muegen 1800 battery and im now running generic 026 FW. I fully charged my phone two days ago and I use it quite a bit while at work and what not and this morning I have 26% still remaining. Not saying you should go out and buy one of these batteries but ive noticed a definite improvement.
I charge twice a day. Heavy data use and I need my screen bright as lot if it is out of doors. Rooted 026, with setcpu. About, 66% of my drain is the LCD. My GF with her iPhone 4 gets about 36 hours and she hammers it more than me- never turns any radios off either. Grrr... drives me nuts when i have to jump through hoops to get back home from work without a dead phone. Incidentally, what moron put the charge socket on top? Means we will never have a dock we can just drop it in when not carrying the damn thing /facepalm...

[Q] Just how reliable is WP7? How good for daily use?

I found my battery life is around 8-10 hours for minimal usage using WP7
specification using
hspl 2.08
radio newest one
sdcard 2GB sandisk
gprs always on using 2G
location turn off
using light background
sync email every hours
so I wanna compare with you guys here who using wp7, is there any one who can get battery life more than 12 hours or so?
with Android I can get more than 24 hours for minimal usage ( call, sms, browsing ).
is it better to reflash/hardreset wp7 again?
Well, I have been using it for about a week now and it is bearable, but pretty and extremely fluid
Regarding battery, I only use wifi, so I have 3g off and I surf about 30 min a day with it.
30 min phone calls
15 SMS
Update Gmail and Facebook about 4 times a day.
Play a bit with the phone and it lasts me from 8AM to about midnight that is when I need to charge it again.
So about 16h.
The worst thing about this is that the camera is not really working (all the pictures I've taken do not look as sharp as with the other OS).

I am not sure about wifi I barely using wifi, always connect with 2g connection... camera sih ok with me since I am never using camera ( only once or twice a week)
just found battery life is kinda disappointing when using WP7.
I consider if my sdcard is not compatible or what. hofully some one here can help me, if mostly can say then can get more than 15 hours so I am pretty sure I need to reflash/hardreset or even change my sdcard to get better result of battery life
From the reviews of some other devices on WP7 etc, it seems as if the battery life is an issue in general as is the case with most of the smart phones using these OS's in general -
I've been using it now for a week or so and it fit's my needs perfectly.
I've found only 2 bugs with it mentioned elsewhere by others and even they're nothing worth noting...
Camera doesnt work correctly (i hardly ever use it)...and there's issues with loudspeaker volume (workaround - set at 3) ... other than that nothing...
I'm finding after a full day of use, (wifi and gps switched on) from 8am, an hour or so of music, 15-20 minutes gaming, 4-5 calls and several texts, emails, facebook etc, i have around a quarter battery left at midnight.
Cheers
Paul
Battery life is surely not amazing, but for me it's acceptable. maybe 1-2 hrs less than WM6.5. I make it from 8 am to 7 pm with 30-40 min calls. 3G always on. 1 hr IE on 3G and some 30 min. 3D gaming.

so its 11 hours for average usage.
I just wondering if sdcard class with affect battery life? since wp7 is kinda like raid0 which cannot be separated between internal memory and sdcard.
hopefully with higher class of sdcard if will affect battery life for wp7
I have been using it since last week Thursday and its been excellent for me, I even think the battery seems better than on android. Its been my main phone since. The still camera is the only issue I have. I think iPhone has a worthy competitor in WP7.

judging by you're avatar 7pm is probably close to your bed time anyway
I'm really enjoying wp7, running for 5days now and mostly smooth.
Some apps like IE stag occasionally and some times the touch screen seems a little unreponsive mainly in settings screens.
Obviously not the easiest of OS's to switch in and out of like android due to the sd card, and not being able to charge the battery when the phone is off is an issue.
Main concerns but tolerable:
Not being able to sync directly with outlook (gmail workaround)
Battery drain is excessive (though i'm not usually far from pc->usb charge
Lack of software (obviously, but also finding the good from the bad)
Do not forget the sms receiving issue people. Been using for three days straight and all working fine but suddenly sms seems to stop coming.....and by that I mean it would take hours to recieve or send an sms and when it finaly does come...no notification and no home tile count. And trust me,,,this is not sometning to do with the settings.
battery life is really bad for me.
on a 10 hour shift on android i can finish with 40-50% battery left with full data sync on
on wp7 i had to charge my phone at work ( i wasnt sure of exact battery % because i couldnt find this function
im going to dual boot wp7 and android cause wp7 is cool for showing off haha
Works great for me, basic things work great and battery life is ok. I can do a full day with and i do play around make some calls and sms. For me it's as good as android from nand. Too bad camera doesn't work correctly and multitouch.
It works awesome, though I have the problem here, that the monthly internet package from Vodafone Romania isn't too big, and I found out that this is a 3G hungry OS. (180MB in 3 days, and that is NO downloading of apps!)
That and only because of that, I have to consider rolling back to Android.
Other than that, WP7 is one hell of a mobile OS, that runs very nice on our HD2 phones and would be good for daily use
I'm very satisfied with this first WP7 release for the Leo. Almost everything is working fine. Except for some bugs which are a little annoying (as mentioned before):
- managing the volume (it's very loud! the alarm in the morning, too...)
- green pictures with camera-flash
- slow app installation (compared to the HTC Mozart it is veeeery slow)
Unfortunately there is no possibility to set up the days and hours for syncing with my exchange (that was possible with ActiveSync in WM6.5). Actually that's not a bug from this DFT-release, but from the WP7 itself. Maybe this will be added with the announced official update.
Finally, I don't think that I'll turn over to WM6.5 or Android again. The design, useability and flawless UI of WP7 on the HD2 is really nice.
thats kinda weird some people said they have battery life some doesn't...
I thin its related with sdcard.. bad flash probably.
Look at other thread some peeps suggested change radio rom, try 2.12 and 2.14 still got huge battery drain, even with data connection turn off

I have 2.14 radio and after all day I had yesterday 30% left. Then I charged it to maximum and left it to see how battery will drain over night, and it didn't even move. So for me battery life is better than in android.
ok that kinda weird hopefully reflash WP7 with good sdcard will give better battery life.

I've had it running, without a reboot for the last four days. I haven't really noticed horrible battery life but then again i am not of it half as much as the Android OS...mostly b/c the apps are GARBAGE and the games are SAD.
I have wifi active at all times, 3g data is really slow for some reason.
It is usable but i would not say fully functional even with reg hack and Microsoft activation hack.
Volume sucks! Way too loud even with min volume and gps sync is all out of whack...map application looks awesome with the real street view but good luck getting to a destination!
Camera is also GARBAGE but other than the sound the 720p video looks great
I really like the simplicity of the OS layout and the fluidity of everything but there needs to be more usability and functionality before i fully adopt although this have been a good learning experience and test for whether or not i want to get the HD7 or just another HD2 for my next phone
Going back to android for now...perhaps there will be a NAND ROM soon that has at least 95% functionality without having to call and lie to MS to get codes.
I love WP7!!!
Had some battery issues to begin with, but changed radio to 2.14 and then hard reset. For the last 3 days I've had nearly 30 hours on battery. On par with Android. Android is superb as a customizeable OS. So many things you can change.
WP7 is a phone OS, pure and simple. I love the simple interface. Not much you can customize, but the speed more than makes up for it. Messaging is particularly fantastic.
Don't use a light background!!! Use a dark one (black basically). As the screen has to fully light the pixels for a white background (value of 255), using black (dark, value of 0) it doesn't have to light them as much, so the screen uses less power.
Still a few bugs in WP7, also some missing features, but nothing that is a 'show stopper'.
I'm sticking with WP7 and looking forward to the 'official' update....

Dont worry too much...Considering if your phone is new, the battery need conditioning. Just use it for a week with full charge cycle, I am sure it will be normal. Also you can check from battery usage, to make sure it's not some apps you installed that caused the heavy drain.
This is standard in the first few days; 4 days into me having mine, I noticed a decrease from 100% to 31% in 6.5 hours without even touching the phone, however now it runs a breeze.
I wouldn't say wait for it to mellow out and it will be perfect (although you can sit it out, regardless of what you do the phone battery will still need to adjust) but in the long run I'd suggest making use of the handy new battery management feature (Home, Menu, Settings, Applications, Battery Use) and also an application called Advanced Task Killer, which will manage applications that are loaded in memory on the phone. Some say this helps, some say it doesnt, but I personally feel it's beneficial to have it installed.
Be very careful if you're running Kakaotalk or Whatsapp - they drink battery power like mad.
Just be careful with running apps and widgets - I've put my WiFi sleep policy to when screen is off too.
Really pleased with my battery life - getting between 18 - 24 hours of pretty heavy use per charge

I'm tired of answering this question... please use the SEARCH feature.
I have the same problem with battery drain... When I restart the phone the problem dispersers for some time... I have only installed a few apps that I have used without problems on my HTC HD2.. I have run a lot of different android roms on HD2 without this kind of problem..
Actual I noticed the battery drain problem from first start on my ARC..
Now I have installed the "Only Battery Widget" and on the graph I can clearly see that the battery drain is lower after a restart.
I don't know when or why the problem appear...
I have the same problem before! However, after uninstall task killer program, disable Bravia engine, install shutupbatterysaver and do a reboot, the battery problem has gone!
I see Whatsapp is always in the "Running" apps list after restart. I don't use it.
I don't have an account and I tried to open the app once but did not register or agree to the terms.
It shouldn't use a lot of battery right?

It's installed on mine too but does not use much.
Kakaotalk, on the other hand, accounted for 22% of my battery usage - and I wasn't even using it!!
Uninstalled it.
my 1st proper days usage today and i got 19hrs at which point i hit 15% battery so stuck it back on charge, i was messing with the phone all day, quite a bit of gaming, 3 or 4 videos, pictures net etc, screen on auto, i have no task killer installed... i feel that when ive come out of a game when i check whats running its not there so no need as far as i can see to have 1, pleased with the battery it hasnt yet been through any cycles, this is the 1st time ive properly charged it
The battery drain from first day to third day is extremly different!
First day battery drained about 10% per hour idle, third day 2% only

Same here.
I notice there a lot of background services running on the ARC as compared to my Galaxy S and they cannot be stopped (keep coming back) or uninstalled.
I am using Green Power Free set to 1 min ON and 5 mins OFF to see if things get any better.
My Arc drain almost 30% over night with data off. I did a hard reset, it drop only 3%
For that matter I'll have to ask something... Is it detrimental to my battery's health when I charge it while still being halfway full? Does it hamper the total capacity? Because that's what I have to do sometimes because of school... Don't want an almost-empty battery there

Theoretically Lithium batteries shouldn't be a problem since there is no memory effect. Just do a complete charge/discharge/charge cycle once a month or so to "calibrate" the battery meter.
You should also do it once or twice when new.
One more thing, I am using third party micro usb charger, the phone screen unlock not working!!! Which I cant unlock the phone while i charge!! Just be more careful. Or any friend have this issue?
Hi, it happened to me too. My battery started draining faster. I was not able to figure out which app caused it, may be WhatsTheApp or Evernote. So I took a backup and made a factory reset. Now my battery is back to normal. you can try that. Now I'm getting 2 days even after playing some HD games. Really loving this phone. Hope this helps....

Theoretically Lithium batteries shouldn't be a problem since there is no memory effect. Just do a complete charge/discharge/charge cycle once a month or so to "calibrate" the battery meter.

It is new. You mean actually waiting until it turns itself off? Would have to do that.

horrific battery life...help?!

Hi All
Once again thanks for watching my video and getting me tickets to MWC...but alas i have another issue. My Note has horrific battery life....practically about 8 hours.
I downloaded better battery stats and there are no major wakelocks going on...(just juice defender at 3.4% which i uninstalled anyway) ....any other ideas?
Any help would be appreciated, another Mobiler suggested i put a custom rom on...I'm just terrified of 'bricking' my phone lol
This is perfectly average battery life for stock rom with moderate to heavy usage but if on light usage you might have some issues. Here is my battery like with heavy use.
Don't pay attention to people claiming Days of battery life they are simply not using the phone.

Battery life is certainly better than that on my old HTC Desire HD. Far better.

Maybe you could post up your betterybatterystats results?
I was having the same problem. I have a lot of apps on my phone, and it was just draining while sleeping as far as I could see. My main issue was all the unwanted apps like the social and media hub popping up whenever they felt like chomping on my battery.
I finally gave in and rooted, and installed droidwall to prevent anything getting network access I do not allow, android assistant for its start up manager, and autorun to delete all 'event listeners' that cause apps to pop up when they like (and there are hundreds of these in the stock apps, I assure you).
I now have 50% more battery life, and it seems to lose a lot less while sleeping.
I installed the CPU speed set thingy (sorry, I forget the name) but I had the problem a few others seem to have because it drained the battery faster than ever while sleeping. I will try again after a few days. I screenshot the battery graph in full screen, showing the WiFi, wake & screen, every day so that I can get a good feel for historical usage and battery life.
I have an el cheapo battery (had two but lost one) for emergencies. I am buying a Samsung one instead (for a 'real' 2500 mAh), and expect to keep it on me at all times. That should take me through a day of pretty heavy usage. I also have some dangly 'add-on' chargers, but frankly a spare battery is neater, smaller and easier.
I have also bout a tablet (10.2" with 16GB) for $200. I fully expect to buy another - one for work and one for home. These will reduce my usage of the G-Note and leave it for actual use as a phone. The main problem is that I use it so damned much! I have my phone, contacts, all my To Do lists, email, audible books, textual books, surfing, games, etc all on one device. I also use it to type notes at meetings or the like using my folding BT keyboard. It does it all really well, but does not have the battery to cope!
I know there are fat batteries out there, but I do not want to spoil the beauty of my svelte Note by giving it a hunch-back!

I also use Llama to control things like BT, WiFi and network data access when away from home or office. It does help, and means I don't have to remember to toggle. I tried Juice Defender as well, but its idea of turning on the WiFi at intervals saved my battery but seemed to make my email (IMAP) never download. I need to know when emails come in so that did not work for me. I may try it again at some point and try to make it work better for me.
Uninstall Juice Defender. I found my phone battery lasted twice longer after I removed it.

I use my phone for note taking all day and into the evening! Screen and internet used for over 12 hours, constant use! (Screen on lowest setting)
After battery "settled" I get around 10 hours then pop in a second battery!
Took about 15 charging cycles though to get the 10 hours!
Anyway just saying it may take time! And a second battery is always safest

that's... actually pretty normal battery usage if you're using your phone a lot.
my note is operating pretty much 18hours a day. A full charge is all i need, and by the end of the day, i get the critical battery notification.
if your note lasted more than a day, that's great. But with the amount of workload i am expending using my note, i wouldn't be surprised if continued usage of the phone would only last 7 to 8 hours tops. or much less.
and besides, the note can last for more than 2 days, if you didn't use it at all.
thanks for all the suggestions...i'm going to give rooting it a go this evening. Will let you know how that goes.

Yeap, that seems like average battery life. If you notice (others) that his screen on time was pretty solid most of the time. That means of the nearly 6 hours on, I'd say about 4.x hours the screen was on. So that's good
I have managed to improve my Galaxy note battery life a LOT by doing the following:
- Disable Wi-Fi when not using it.
- Settings > Accounts and Sync > UN-TICK "Auto-sync".
With auto-sync disabled you have to manually open the relevent app to get the data, but for me, thats what I prefer, and it saves loads of battery life.
Used to be 8 hours or less with the above 2 enabled.
now 16 hours+ with the above 2 disabled !
Installed free version of Juice Defender 3 days ago, didn't do anything just keeping it on balanced mod and from now on I have extended normal battery life (phone, e-mails, sms, occasional internet through 3G) from 1 day to 2 days. What can I say ...
It works. When you switch into wifi, gaming or intensive document editing then nothing is going to save you, but just for having the phone in your pocket and using it as a "phone" Juice Defender delivers.
I noticed on the market that roughly half people say it is excellent and the other half is whining that it just sucks. Give it a try a decide for yourself.
Just turn auto sync off and untick "Use wireless networks" and you will be blown away by the battery life.
The last two days my battery was losing power too quickly compared to my previous weeks with my note.
So I thought it must be an app which I installed which is causing this. The only app I installed recently was Google + so it took it off and hey presto - battery life back to normal again.
You might say well it doesn't drain my battery with google+ installed but it works with mine as I tried re-installing again and it sapped the battery again.
Maybe different apps effect different roms, kernals etc...just a thought and something you could try with a recently installed app.

I can see that as an option, and I believe that all of those who report great battery life are doing much the same. My problem is that I want to be kept alerted to emails. I have tried Juice Defender, as it starts up wireless at defined intervals, but since my email is checking at other defined intervals, at appears that the email never gets through. I have to assume they never coincide.
I also like certain apps to sync, although I guess I could do that manually. Currently I turn on autosync while at home or work with Llama. Luckily the wireless and autosync toggles are in the notification dropdown as well - that is a wonderful idea.
I use the Note far too much, so (as I have probably said) I am getting a tablet. I hope that it will serve as my email notification when I am at home or work. When Llama knows I am at neither place, it can disable autosync and enable mobile data for me (which I keep off at home & work).
It is a delicate balance trying to get full desired operation and decent battery life. I am not sure it is really worth all the agro. I may just settle for a spare battery in my wallet and a dock/battery charger by my bedside. That is probably the easiest of all options! Then I can game away whenever I like without constantly checking the battery
Im using a custom rom rocket rom v21 with abyss kernel... which gives me a battery for 40 hours approx. With fair amount of usage. Sync off facebook app as it sucks a lot of battery too.

In wifi settings enable the option to turn wifi of if the screen is off. That adds a lot of battery time. I get far more than 8 hours and i use it all the time with wifi etc.

Awesome! Been looking for this feature for awhile now. Only downfall is just remembering to switch it back when i'm using Pandora
A bit off topic but I experienced a fluke on my battery life, was just watching simpsons while I had my wifi connected and only had my yahoo messenger connected probably a total of 10-15 messages in 4hrs range, for 4 hours of screen time it normally drains 50-51% only.
I almost always have the same scenario when I watch simpsons on my phone, yahoo messenger running but it the first time to drain it like this.
