Hmm i use SMS receiving acknowledgement by standard.
Can i turn off the signaling for it?
I think just a popup is enough. I dont need a "beep beep" on my phone immediateley after sending a SMS to another.
Hello messia,
As the SMS notification is a simple SMS you recieve from the network when the recipient get your SMS, you have to deactivate the sounds for incoming SMS's.
You can controll all notifcations in the settings:
Start > Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifcations
(Start > Einstellungen > Sounds & Benachrichtigungen > Benachrichtigungen)
If you choose "Messaging: new SMS" (Messaging: neue SMS) , you can turn off the sound for incoming SMS messages.
The downside of this is that sound notification is disabled for all incoming SMSs, not only for the send notifcations.
Greetings,
BGK
thx but that is not the problem, the problem is that i want a sound for a new sms i get, but i don`t want a sound for a sms that someone receives from me.
A popup for this is sufficient
I remember turning OFF the notification of sent messages previously, i think the info is in the forum somewhere, but it turns it all off. Both sound and popup.
I think it was a registry hack too. Was a long time ago, im fighting wm2005 now so havent got time to check back how i did it sorry.
yes i know how to deactivate completely but i just want to deactivate the annoying sound
it`s impossible, isn`t it?
Yes, it is impossible. The SMS you receive from the network looks the same as an sms from one of your contacts to your phone. The device cannot distinguish one SMS from another, so you can only choose to switch of the sound for all sms-es. You can also choose to disable delivery notification entirely, but then you will only get a pop-up that the sms is send, not when it is received by the other party, since the network will not send you an sms to notify you of delivery.
However, even when I am writing this, I consider two issues:
1. There is some program floating around that enables blocking certain senders of sms. That means however that the sms will not reach your phone, so this is bascially the same result as with switching sms delivery notification off.
2. BUT! Darek, the creator of DKToday ( search for him on this forum with the term DKToday, or his name dkot) uses the SMS delivery for counting the number of sms send this month. Basically, he could not find a way to extract sent sms info from the system, so instead, he chose to count the returning delivery notification sms from the network as a measure of the no. of sms sent by you. So, in some way, he must be able to distinguish delivery notification sms from normal sms, as sent by your contacts. I recommend you to contact him and ask him how that is done, maybe he can tell you what the distinguishing feature is between normal incoming sms and network sms.
Edit: After re-reading your first post in this thread, I may have given you an answer to a problem you did not have. Do you want to cancel out the sound for the incoming network delivery notification sms, or the sound from the pop-up after sending the sms ( the system sound)? For the delivery sms, see my answer. For the system sound: I have no clue...
I have written to him. Maybe he can help
I have a problem with my Himalaya, but this might be an WM6 problem also.
When my device is switched off (so in standby) and I receive an SMS, the device does not notify me that a new SMS arrived (doen't ring, blink). I receive the SMS when I turn the device on next time. I'm sure that the SMS should be received earlier because of the timestamp. I also tried this by sending a message from another mobile to myself.
What might be the cause for this? I can receive calls while the device is switched off.
how are sounds and notifications in settings set for on recieve sms?
For "Messaging: New text message" I have:
"Play sound" set to some standard-sound (Alarm5)
"Display message on screen"
"Flash light for no limit" and
"Vibrate" set.

Hi. try to search for the smsalertfix.cab patch and install it. Make sure it is on your startup folder so that it always starts when you do a soft reset.
It has helped me with that problem.
hey all i have jsut encountered a weird text message problem. when i was texting this morning, i noticed that all the messages i sent was not showing in the thread. also, when i recieved a message, it doesnt show up either. however, when i get the notification, i can see the text that was sent to me, but not in the thread. can anyone help me with this? thanks all.
i seem to have the opposite problem...sometimes i dont get a message notification...e.g. the message tone doesn't sound and the new message isn't highlighted on the home screen.
I only know i have a message if i happen to see the screen wake-up or manually go to my inbox where then the tone will sound and the new message will be displayed. However this doesnt always happen but id say 25% of the time if not a bit more. Very annoying and inconvinient
Me too have the same problem with bknewtype.
This is annoying because if i dont wake up the phone, i wont know that a message have arrived.
It makes me miss an important appointment 1 time.
Can anyone tell me anything about this problem?
I am having the same problem as you all cos I will not know that I have received a SMS only when I go into the Inbox then incoming SMS start coming in.
Anyone know what is the problem and any solution?
I HAVE same issue do u all have slide to unlock? i do.
what abt a diff on screen keyboard? there has to be a common issue we all have .. what about firmware??
I looked everywhere for this and haven't seen anything.
If I set the entire phone to vibrate mode, incoming SMS won't vibrate.
Phone calls, email, all vibrate. SMS does not.
They only way I can get incoming SMS to vibrate is by setting SMS to "Also vibrate when notified"
The problem with this: Then SMS vibrates all the time, where phone is in vibrate or has sound on.
How do I set the SMS to only vibrate when the phone is set to vibrate?
I haven't found a way to do what you are requesting as of yet. Google took this away with the JB update I believe. However CM has an option in setting called profiles that will do this for you when properly set up. If you find something let us know I'd be interested.

There has to be some way around this, without the need to use a 3rd party sms app. I like the stock messaging app, but don't care for no vibration or vibrate all the time.
I also have an issue where the screen doesn't actually come on when sms is received, but I see a number of people on Sprint have that problem.
If I can find anything, I will post back. Hope to check some more tonight when I get off work.
Guys, can anyone help?
Whenever someone calls me on my Moto G4, after a few ringing this quick sms response function automatically appears for me. I can not get this option out. I already found it in the options (phone - config - calls - reject call with mesangem), but then I can only edit those quick answers.
How do I disable this ?? I do not find an option to disable this.
Someone?
