Just wondering, I am not returning it just yet... Still having a go trying to solve the problem i'm going through. But just in case i have to replace my Pocket PC HP Ipaq 612c because i have dead pixel on my screen plus the centre of the screen is relatively raised higher compared to the rest of the screen (making me have to press harder to register presses), should i have to restore the roms i've upgraded here back to it's original version? Also the Firmware back to v.0.81 from this new one of v.0.89?
My current updated version is:
Rom Date: Jun212008
Rom Version: MP-1.01.04
Bootloader: MP-1.00.03
Where can i find old rom version MP. 1.01.01??
PLEASE HELP. I am really worried i cant return this defective machine
You need to flash this official rom update and go to service.
Of course, no custom roms
thanks so much, i'm a bit relieved...
So just to confirm. It's ok to flash rom as long as it's the ones officially released by hp like link you gave me?
is this custom rom?

Hello,
I need a french rom for my Ameo very quickly. Do you think I have a chance to find it or not? Thanks
Even if you find it, you cant flash it.
Do NOT try to flash ANY rom not designed for your device. There is no way to exchange roms on the Athena/Ameo yet.
You are stuck with the rom it came with and official rom upgrades from your supplier untill somebody creates the tools for cross flashing.
Dont flash it with the wrong rom or you will brick your phone.

the chance of you to find it is low, and even you do, is no use, because you can't flash it at the moment, we can't get pass the country ID lock at the moment
OK so I need some input and I did a ton of searching/asking around about this issue.
Firstly I was running Black IV and the camera application worked for a week or so and then it stopped and started the "camera will not initial, unable to open" and ultimately ended up that the camera app would not start or load at all.
Secondly I flashed back to the At&t Rom and WM5, I thought maybe the ROMS were bad etc. Now I don’t have the Camera Icon/Program in the Programs folder and it will not run when I find the file in the Windows folder??
Does anyone know what is going on with my phone or is this definitely a Warranty Replacement??
Here are my current specs
Windows Mobile 5.0 with Messaging & Security Feature Pack
OS 5.1.478 (Build 15706.3.5.2)
ROM version 2.15.502.3
Rom Date 04/09/07
Radio 1.40.30.00
Protocol Version 32.73.7020.16h
Thank you in advance for all of your suggestions and please let me know if more information is needed.
D
Anyone have any suggestions??
thanks.. D
Do a hard reset with the stock WM5 rom in there.
Also, if you do opt for warranty return, be sure you have the right IPL and SPL in there.
Thanks, I actually did the mrvanex downgrade guide for the ROM and Olipro.and then did the ROM update from HTC, I think that is factory specks..
and I did the whole hard start and battery out procedure.. it is just not there anymore..
Seems you can’t find a resolution with this problem, except warranty refurb
Hi everyone.Tmo has a new software update version 4.26.531.4 for htc wing and my currently is 4.10.531.3 wwe.should I update it?will it loose everything from previous programmed?this phone is at virgin non modded yet.any suggestions is greatly appreciated
by all means, go ahead and upgrade.
you will lose all your data from the previous rom, but the somewhat newer (but alas, still wm6) build should increase stability and/or speed and IPL will give booting a kick in the pants (or so i've heard)
I just update newer software to this new one 4.26.531.4,I notice after the update, when I wake the phone up from sleep by pushing power button the screen flash once before it display.is this normal for the new software update? the old software version was not like that.anyone here experience it?

Man, I would flash to a cooked rom over tmobile's garbage. You will get a lot better performance out of the cooked roms.

Check the ROM date on your device.
I recently ran T-Mobile Wing Software_4.26.531.4.exe from the T-Mobile site, and under settings, device info, it still says ROM Version: 4.26.531.1 WWE. But now the ROM date says 4/22/08.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=RRN7Z4YJ
it has been that way for a while, i tried updating in early june i think and the file says a different version than what the ROM actually is. it even tells you when you say "yes i'm sure i want to upgrade" or whatever, they are the same ROM even though the .exe says otherwise.
Yes it show date on 4-22-08.just the software differ than previous one.I am going to mod this wonderful pda.for now I am learning how to use it.it is my first pda phone.I will need help lots of helps from wonderful guys and gals in this great site.Thank you all in advance. btw I love that iphone look and TF mod.
Hi all,
I was hoping someone can help me with this.
For some reason, my phone is a Taiwan build (707) but came with an HK rom (721).
I found this out when I got in touch with HK due to being unable download
Ship Rom 1.36.721.3 (94538) WWE. They told me I have an unlicensed rom.
So if the phone came with 721 rom, but physical build should have 707, which one do you think is considered by HTC as my phone's original rom?
Your input is much appreciated
Cheers,
curiouser

Email htc and give them your S/N which is under the battery and they tell you about your original rom..... I did that some day ago.
Hi hazhysalon,
been dealing with HTC via online chat
thanks for your reply anyway.
cheers

Sorry about bumping this old thread.
But I've got the exact same isuue, and am curious what HTC told Curiouser [] about the awkward situation of the smart-phone.
May I ask what did they tell you Curiouser?
Hi,
The build is the rom, so TW in my case, and prob yours. Don't know how or why, but the reseller was able to put the HK rom on top of the TW one
It's ok, since you can still update the rom (I'm using nsourm still)
I forget the actual process now but you should be able to find the guide in the threads here.
I would advise you, though, that the process might revert the phone back to the orig TW rom, which is Chinese.
I don't know Chinese, so it would help you if you took screen shots of the process while it's still in English. That way, if it does go back to Chinese, the buttons remain in the same spot so you can still wing it.
Have fun.

Wow! Didn't expect a fast reply! Thanks a lot Curiouser! Both for the fast reply and the reply itself.
Hello all,
My touch hd's screen isn't working properly, therefore I contacted HTC itself and they told me to book for a repair; where they would repair the device for free, only if doesn't have water damage, hardware damage and rooted software.
I'm worried I won't be eligible for this free repair, as I've used ROMs from this site.
So, Is there a way I can factory RESET the ROM to 6.0 or 6.5 (Official Update is acceptable according to HTC but NOT rooted)?
And, If I manage to put the official/un-rooted update, can HTC find out that I've used cooked ROMs on the device ?
you can find the latest 6.1 rom at HTC page (www.htc.com) under support.

Is the colour issue resolved by pressing power on/off button?
If so, your issue is your SPL doesn't match your rom.
If you restored your stock spl, you will need to flash a stock rom with matching spl
What is your current SPL?
