I have 2 thing didn't understand about x1 - XPERIA X1 General

Hi!I'm using x1i ROM R2A.
I don't know why i try to download some sensor application from this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430541.I installed on device memory but i can't use it,Eg: i installed the game "8 ball magic",then i try to shake a lot of time but no thing happen .I search on google and i see X1 have senior chip,So why i can't use any sensor application?
And another thing is i don't know what is "Managed Programs" in Setting/system of x1.I see it alway show "no managed program have been installed".Can someone tell me about this menaged programs and where can i download it?
Thank u so much

the x1 does not have an accelerometer. Perhaps the sensor that u read about, is the ambient light sensor

Here's the topic on managed applications:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=1886475
Guess how I found it? ) GOOGLE !!! Our f%$^*&d up search engine doesn't do anything.
As for the sensor, otakuspeedvibe is right, we don't have an accelerometer unfortunately.

Thank u about your information !

Change Backlight Button to Camera flash light

Hi all,..
Is there a way to change the Backlight button on the universal so it activates the Camera light on the back of the device instead of turing on the backlight?
When possible the Universal becomes a pocket flashlight. Now when I want to activate the universal camera light I need to start up the camera software, It would be much quicket to just press the Light button to enable and disable the bright camera light. The Light button is now unuseful to me because the backlight automatticly turns on when tapping the screen, so no button needed...
anyone got a idea?
Best regards,..
Arjan
Now thats a damned good idea!! The backlight button is useless anyway.
Anyone here got the skills, I am afraid that I am just a lowly win32/KM developer...
Whats the best way to get into WM2005 coding?? Does it still require you to install 10,000 toolkits, or does Visual Studio 2005.net have the nessesaries? (if work ever sorts out our MSDN sub that is!)

Paging buzz_lightyear! Paging buzz_lightyear!
buzz_lightyear to the rescue!
..... please?
As an almost entirely unrelated aside, you guys know that my program VJLumos, for the superbright screen, works on the Universal?
Doesn't make that much difference because it already has a nice screen.

Hi Buzz,..
Seems you know all about this schit. Can you tell uss if this is possible?
Regards..

True, true... but the camera flash is trully bright!!! Even more than the screen!
I've checked the Win32 Mobile API and found nothing, so the solution must be in one of the HTC DLL's!
Disassembling Camera.exe in IDA didn't give big results neither... :?
I'll continue my reseach and post the results here!
Just wanted to keep this close to the top of the forum,
I would love this feature! Please please pretty please

would be great to have a portable flashlight with me all the time
Still triying, but until now, no success...
buzz_lightyear, can you give a hand here?
Realy hope anybody can find it out because this would be really great!!!
But can it be fixed?
Will this be possible?
not that I really know too much about all this kinda stuff, but MortPlayer refuses to recognise the button with a lightbulb on it even if you use the option that allows you to specify a hardware button by pressing it. Does this mean that this button is somehow hidded frm WM5 or am I being silly?
//Xi
MusicPlayer can recognize the button, I think it takes it as some kind of function button (F4 or F6 or something like that), so is definitely possible to use it.
I actually use it, after adding it to the registry. The button code is C8, so you just have to copy paste another button, and change any CX occurence to C8.
Key is HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Shell/key/40CX
OK, so that's taken care!! Now to find HOW the camera turns the flash light on... I'm sure it's some kind of API..... :? :?
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/e..._7effd1fa-1b3e-41ba-b176-42cb16dae7d4.xml.asp
i think this is done at driver level....
we might need to hook up with the camera driver dll, disassemble it and get the function names....
and then, need to write an app which will link up the dll at run time and call the fn....
apart from that, theres no simple way to do so using MS provided sdks for wm5....

I agree!! But I don't think that WIA is something to go thrue, since that applies to Win32 only!
That link was from the Desktop Windows DDK. The windows mobile DDK is a different beast.
I suspect the API will be similar tho. I very much doubt whether the camera app is going to directly call an IOCTL down in kernel mode to control the camera light (that would be crude!) It will be doing so via a user mode API. The key is going to be to find which DLL handles this and what the function name and format is!
Unfortunately although I write Desktop Windows drivers, I have not got the first clue about windows mobile programming - dont even know what tools to install!

Just noticed something very odd: WM2005 emulator does NOT have camera.exe!!!
Camera.exe is the picture taking app on the WM2005! Where the hell is it?? Only on real devices (my Exec has it)?

the wm5 sdk has the camera api exposed...however, no luck finding anything related to the flash light
i think its something htc has directly hooked up.
horrible MS they have to goof up somewhere .....
i guess some disassembling is needed

GSensor and Screen Orientation

Ok guys so what is this about?
Well i was tired actually of having to wait GSen to actually work so i have started to experiencing with that, myself. I downloaded some Sensor libraries, it is KINDA doing something, at least the general idea is working.
what i am doing in this app.... well i check the gsensor , where it is and then i rotate the screen using system library. so if u move the pda to the right it rotates and so on.
the problem....
since i don't have a lot of experience with that, i got a trouble, u see when the screen rotates, the gsensor doesn't know that i have rotated the screen and it moves crazy, actually it moves like i have never rotated the screen. this thing is coded in C# (which i don't like, i prefer vb but anyway...)
if anyone of u can help with that i can give u the code, either way this is open source, all i want to do is make it work. i am tired of HTC's non-working features, and GSen not working at all.
g sensor
speaking of g sensor not working, does any one of you know if there is a plugin of some sort to make the Dxian X999+'s accelerometer work as the g sensor????
PS. this probably isn't the best place to post this but i need help
Thanks

8525 camera led light

I would like to start by saying I have found this forum to be extremely helpful and THANK YOU! I have been able to find any tweak, program, cab, etc... by searching the web (usually ending up on this site), but I can not find a solution to this problem.
I no longer have the "flash" button on the camera software. The phone works fine, the camera works fine, it takes pics, I just have no "flash" option anymore. I'm sure it was due to some tweak I did...maybe trying a prog to use the camera led as a flashlight (not sure). My question is, is there a way to restore or a cab to reinstall the camera? led/flash? or both? I dont mind getting really technical if needed.
Thanks in advance,
Doug
8525 WM5 (yeah still wm5...I have too much on here to upgrade right now)
tons of apps and tweaks
I heard the same issue when some people starts to increase the image size on mms pics so you can start there search a forum called something like mms pictures shrink or somethink like that hahahaha Is nice to see starting members that use the search before ask something but you need to have more imagination to search more.
be cool men!
you know...i did have to reinstall the sms/mms...so i'll be you are right...had something to do with that...i'll check it out
btw, trust me, i searched for everything i could think of...i had no logical reason to relate my problem to sms (it works just fine)
I'll check it out and post my results...thanks for the lead!

Better light sensor control [WM 6.x]

Hi guys,
I'm writing this to spare your time searching for the solution, because I found no info on the subject in this section. I wanted to improve the light sensor behavior, as the built-in control is just a simple on/off switch with no customization options. Tried to use G-Light, however, with no success. It seemed G-Light can't recognise the sensor. So I tried Lumos instead, with more or less the same result (the error message gave me a lot more info about the problem). I did some research and found out a solution. To make Iolite's light sensor available to external apps you need to have Diamond's sensor SDK libraries with some registry entries.
After a bit of google work I've got this:
View attachment 199140
Install the cab (and one of control apps) and you can set the light sensor to fit all your needs.
You can get G-Light here:
http://www.ageye.de/index.php?s=glight/about
and Lumos here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=450318
Enjoy.
Update: works with WM 6.5 too.
Nice finding *THUMBS UP*. I will try it and if it will be ok, I will add it into "Must have apps" thread. Or you can do it yourself .

Thanks. Try it without those libraries first to see, if it will happen to you as well. About the "Must have apps" thread (briliant one, btw), I'll leave the update to you, it's your thread.
Thank you!
Great, it works!

Ok, I figured out what the problem was... my case was covering the proximity sensor. Now my case will be modified a little bit with my X-acto knife at least i wont have that problem anymore. Anyway for those of you who have cases and figured that their Proximity Sensor and their Light Sensor dont work, here is a small picture to show you exactly where they can be found on the Tmobile version of the phone. I have checked few times and also the sensor can be seen if you look at them at the exact light angle.
anyway, I hope I helped at least one person
