Read GPS coordinates and upload them to a website

Hi all,
I'm looking for a very simple program which will read GPS coordinates from my bluetooth GPS receiver and use a GET or FORM request to upload them to a website, i.e.
www.website.com/gps.php?n=000.000&w=000.000
Does such a program exist? I've had a look around here and on Google and can't find anything.
If not, I would be willing to have a go at making it. In this instance, does anyone have any pointers for reading the data from the Com port?
Thanks
Oliy

Thanks for the link, however all the solutions in there are far more complex than what I want, or limited to me making an account on someone else's server.
Is there just a really simple app to do this? Or could anyone provide source code of getting the GPS coordinates, and I could make the rest of the program from there.
Cheers
Oliy: it's a little more involved then just reading the com port. What kind of experience do you have? You have to do quite a bit of token and string parsing. Have a read of the GPS protocols:

Hi Vijay,
Thanks for the link. String and token parsing is fine. I have plenty of experience in core operations of programming languages, it's when you get into hardware specific things that I have very little experience.
I don't have a whole lot of time to program at the moment, I start my internship on monday and I have work on my own little OmapScaler project building up as well, but I've found a guy on this forum who seems to have the same ideas as me, I've PMd him and will hopefully get a reply soon.

[Resources] Xperia Wiki Page and useful Links

Hi Everyone:
In an effort to reduce redundant threads and unnecessary postings please be sure to consult the Xperia X1 wiki first and only if you can't find the answer in the wiki than please post your question.
Also if you come across information that is helpful please return the favor by adding it to the wiki. The process is very simple. Don't worry about messing up as there is a page history for every wiki page so in event of corruption, page can be restored to a previous version. With that said:
Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 Wiki PageRom Flashing- - X1 Roms- - Hardspl it's here - - Recovering from bad Flash- - Tutorial: Debranding the X1 / Flashing ROMs- - Flash X1 without PC - Micro SD MethodSim UnLock X1- - Sim Unlock by tupisdin
Customization- - Touch HD Cabs- - Porting TF3D to X1- - X1 Panel and Program tweaks- - Xperia Library
I will do my best to update this thread with links to the Xperia wiki sub pages as they grow and more content becomes available. If you have suggestions for a post to be added to the list please let me know (either by pm or posting here)
Thanks.
updated with more useful links.
there should be a compatibility list just like the one inthe Touch HD forum....
Re-Organized the X1 Wiki/Added Categorys/Added Links
Hello Guys,
I have reorganized the structure of the main Xperia Wiki here at xda-Devs.
Link: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Kovsky
I also think it is very important for having an structured and navigation friendly Wiki of "our device".
This will help most of us for finding/locating important information efficient and quick!
I have added an section where we can switch over from the Xperia-Wiki directly to the Xperia Forum.
I have also added some "sub" categorys (for example: "Topic related links->Xperia Videos" which points to some useful Videos anywhere in the I-net.)
So please feel invited for editing/updating the main Wiki Page if you have helpul information!
Thank's
OMG...
Being as inexpert as I am, I let myself go now and finish what's to be done:
I edited the wiki and added what I consider ito be useful stuff for all of us
Some senior member could please review my additions and help with format - if required

To both of you, thanks for your contribution. We need everyone on all device forums to think like this and work on the wiki so it can be a complete resource for everyone.
jahd5000 your suggestion is good. I believe when you say compatibility list you mean x1a (america) and regular x1 roms?? If so, than i'll try to go through the forum and see which roms are compatible with which version of the phone.
Thanks for all everyones opinions and contributions.

Is there a way of finding you car with GPS

Is anyone thinking of developing an app so when you park your car, or need a point of reference, you can track it back with a compass dial app so you will never again forget where you parked it?
Err... couldn't you just use one of the many GPS apps, even something like Google Maps. When you park, set the current location as a marker in the app, and then when you go to find it, just look at the map, and the direction of the marker.
Or, do what many of us have learned. When you park, look at your surroundings, find a visual object that can be seen (A tree, a lamp post, a parking deck level color/number) and remember that.
Firstly Please post all questions in the Questions and Answers section.
Second (I'll be nice here) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2863624
Well, I know in many GPS programs, such as IGo and Garmin you can place a pin at your current location. This is what I would suggest right before leaving the car place a pin at your current location.
Suppose my son took the car behind my back, and i need to know where BOTH are ?

Your advice is not helpful and rude. Glad there are members at XDA that are frendly.

This is off subject of the phone, but there is a device that you can use that can do that for you... You can go online and trace where they've have been and everything. I know i've looked at it before but i don't rmemeber the name of it. If i find it i'll let you know but alot of companies use it to track there employees.

actually, he gave sound advice that i have used successfully in the past. google maps is perfectly capable of guiding you to your car. why do you need a compass when the arrow tells you which way to go?

[HELP please]How to know the road or street which we are ...?

Hello,
I wanted to know if anyone had an idea to implement this function because I'm looking since yesterday and I have not found much, just:
developer.android.com/reference/android/location/Address.html
developer.android.com/reference/android/location/Geocoder.html
developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/ContactsContract.CommonDataKinds.StructuredPostal.html
But I am not more advanced and my question remains: I'd like to know: how to know the road on which we are?
For example, I want my application to tell me: you're on the street...xxx or highway...xxx
Like on the free application " compass " that makes it !
Thanks in advance for your answers!
And escuse me for my english, i'm french.
Well the links you have provided are the right ones except the last one. I'm not sure for what you'd need the contacts for that.
Now in principle you obtain a Location object from your LocationManager. Get the latitude and longitude from that Location object and pass those values to the GeoCoders getFromLocation() method.
You will get a List of Address objects from which you can get all the information you need.
Here is an example:

Question [Closed] - Looking for Best GCam app for NP1

Hello
I just moved from google pixel to Nothing Phone 1 recently
The thing I missed most is the Pixel camera, especially the portrait feature, isolation and focus
I've tried many versions of the Google Camera here, but when shooting in portrait mode, there is no isolation or anything
Do you recommend a specific version or specific settings?
Thank you all

BSG is available on Celsoazevado the main site for Gcam
XML is specific for every device. Search on Telegram or XDA
Someone in a group of possesor could build a xml from scratch to share
If the device is popular you could find it in the site above
