Hi all,
after using HD tweak, my volume is louder..
however, it is so loud that even on minimum, my earphones are crazy...
as there any way to have loud volume but the steppings more evenly spreaded?
thanks !!!
anyone pls?
install the advanced config to allow you to change the settings
With HDTweak, go to acoustic settings, and set it to 100dB limit

I've seen a lot of posts about volume being too quiet, but none about being too loud. I have a Jabra wired in-ear stereo headset, and putting the system volume to it's lowest, non-muted, setting of 20% while turning down the volume of Slide2Play to it's lowest, it is still too loud. It's not too loud to listen to, I just mean I want to be able to make it barely audible if I have to, for instance if a co-worker says something I don't want to be forced to take the headset off.
Is there any way to adjust the volume to somewhere in the 1-19% range rather than 20% being the lowest?
The headset is pretty comfortable, so I'd hate to have to buy an out-of-ear model which I imagine would be less loud at the lowest setting.
Mind you, I don't want to lower the overall volume. I like that it can be loud too, I just need it to be a little more quiet when I'm in the zone trying to bend a piece of code or SQL statement to my will so I don't miss what people say around me.. hehe.
just open ur headset and put a higher value resistor in it.
hope u understand my words.
Thanks for the advice but I'm not much of an electrician.
I'm more looking for a program, cab or registry tweak that allows for greater control of the volume rather than the simple Mute, Quiet, Medium, Loud, Louder, Very Loud settings that our BAs come with.
I found a cab that allows you to adjust the bass and treble which was very handy, but I can't seem to find one that allows more refined volume levels all around.
hv u tried the SRS WOW HD? it has a tab to adjust the input and output gain it decreases the volume level.

Hmm, that SRS WOW HD does help. Although it seems to like to completely mute my device if I unplug my headphones, or plug them in. It kind of seems like I need to reset the device after I plug or unplug my headset.
Kind of annoying, but music does sound better and I can make it more quiet. Thanks for the suggestion.
Anyone know how to keep it from disabling sound on my device when I plug/unplug my headset?
Hi does anyone know how to do this please?
Its a little too quiet for my liking......
I use the tweak included in HD Tweak that removes the 100db limit. It's just a reg key mod..I would like to know which one is it so that I can remove HD Tweak, as I am using it only for this..
I am running dutty's 6.5 rom will this be different then?
Don't know if it works in WM6.5, but there are chances..Why don't you try it yourself and let us know.I suggest do make a backup before any changes
Try the Audio Boost cabs in this link. I put it on my TP and now my PURE. i recommend the Lighter boost. The Full might ruin the speakers.

Guys, what about increasing speaker volume when talking?
Not the loundspeaker (which plays ringtone).
Topaz is really quiet, in crowd on the street it's way too hard to hear the interlocutor.

I use Tom's Topaz Setting Tool, try to enable Volume Call (Increase Volume during Call) option in Phone Settings
And the HDTweak way does not ruin your speaker?? Because i'm listening to hardstyle
..you'll always be able to dim volume manually if any distorsion occurs
Is it just my phone or is the volume from the earpeice very loud on the HD2?
I have turned my down as far as I can get it & it's still well loud when I hold the phone to my ear.
That's just weird. On my device the earpierece volume was far too quiet. On max I kept on reaching for the volume rocker upwards...
Wow.
If I turned it up over half way the earpiece vibrates & it's deafening.
Yes it is loud.
Makes a change - usually its people complaining that its too quiet
Yes, with mine device is the same!
I've lowered the volume control in-call to the minimum (without any bars visible) and it is still too loud.
Nedd a fix for this, my ear are going to melt!!!
yes its to loud.
i dont know exactly, but is there a setting the advanced config for the ear volume?
EDIT: maybe i found a solution. I set the setting in the "sound & Display", that is coming after the profiles, on off. In german it is called "eine lautstärke", i dont know exactly what this is in english It is the setting that controlls that you only use "one loudness" for system and the ear. After set to off i think i can put the ear volume very low.
phatair, i dont think that has anything to do with the ear volume.. it says "mutural volume" (or something) about ring tone and system volume.
i agree the current ear volume is too loud, i can put my phone on the desk and still hear it loud and clear on the lowest volume..
I listen to the internet radio through the loudspeaker, never with earphones. Consequently I can't use the audiobooster so I was wondering, is there a standalone graphic equalizer that will work without having headphones attached? I use Wunder Radio.
Also, as a secondary issue, the volume control is a problem. I have to use the up/down volume control on the side of the handset but this means that when I lower the radio volume (even the lowest setting is way too loud), my system volume is then on super-quiet setting after I've closed my radio....and I don't hear my text alerts etc.
Is there a way to adjust the volume in apps without adjusting the phone volume settings?
I'm not sure about the graphic equalizer but you can sort your sound issue by going to Settings>Sound & Display and switching the Single volume setting to off. That will allow you to change system sounds (including the volume of your radio software) without affecting the ring volume.
Use SRS WOW. Search it.

Sorry for the stupid question, but which application do you use for internet radio? Thanks, and happy holidays!

It is precisely the system volume which is my problem, this governs text alert notifications amongst other things. Once you have set system volume levels in the sounds menu, they should stay 'set'. I don't like this ability to adjust them using the volume control on the side of the handset - that should be reserved solely for in-call volume adjustments and application volume adjustments.

Will look into it, thanks.
Thanks Dude, I'll check it out! If I find it...
Is anyone else finding the in call volume low in win phone 7. I've been using since Friday, and really enjoying the experience, but today was my first day at work and I have to make and take a lot of calls.
Using registry I found the in call max vol setting, and set to 20. Revolted and then made a call and moved unto 20 (previous max was 10) but it seemed to make very little difference.
Any advice would be appreciated, as I am loving the build but may have to flash back to droid, unless I can solve this
It does seem a little quiet, but not too bad. I'm having issues where all sound volumes are not consistent. It's a little annoying because some things are really quiet, but then other sounds are extremely loud even with volume set to '1'.

I too find the call volume a bit low. Its not too low but could be a little louder. I bet there is a registry setting for it as i read somewhere that you could fix the "high volume on volume set at 1" problem with a reg setting.
Yeah the registry keys are under HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> [ControlPanel] -> [Volume]
I was able to modify the high volume from here
