There are some CAB. files for your Herald. They work on other devices and on Herald also!!! You should know what they are for when seeing their names!
The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: After installing this, you can switch your Herald into Vibration Mode by Comm.button (press an hold in 3 seconds)
Dateandtime.cab: Date and time will be displayed both on the taskbar but depend on you, you want them to be shown all the time or only on Today screen.(settings=> system=> clock & alarm=> more...)
WM VI Batti: Your battery life is displayed on the top of taskbar. Very nice!
HTC_X-Button: Is this the same function as whats included in the HTC roms. Same but more functions! This is new version!
Soft Key Applet: this allow to change the softkeys.
Have fun!
Nice dial skin!
This is a very nice dial skin. Please try and enjoy!

HTC Audio Manager
Have fun with it!
thanks for this, i dont know what some of the things in the first one do, i have the tmobile wing
but i got some htc audio booster and the dialpad and the audio manager
with the 10 button com thing, is the color going to be pink or does it match with the theme?

First and formost thanks for posting all these great files. I hope this thread continues to grow. I really like the audio manager cab; it is much improved over the audio manager that came with my herald. However I have a few questions on the files included by the OP.
The CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix: What exactly does it fix? My function seems to work perfectly.
Dateandtime.cab: I am assuming this is the date and time on the task bar all the time?
WM VI Batti: I have no idea what this is for
HTC_X-Button: Is this the same function as whats included in the HTC roms?
Soft Key Applet: I assume this allows one to change the softkeys.
Could someone please elaborate on these cabs?

Even though we have a very nice keyboard it's not always practical. For quick texts this works great.

I tried the Audio Booster file on my Wizard and it changed the skin on HTC Audio Manager. It also wouldn't allow me to check the box to activate the equalizer, so there was no sound change. Can someone check to see if there are extra settings needed to make this work?

After installing this, at first you tip on the small frame 'Equalizer' than you choose the type of equalizer (classic, normal, bass Booter...) on the under frame and than the frme on the right. it allows you to change and activate the equalizer!

Seems to work fine on mine. As to your earlier post answering my questions about the cab files. My 4350 has always went into vibrate mode when pressing the comm button. Perhaps earlier roms didn't.

Sorry but it still doesn't work. The box next to the equalizer cannot be checked and furthermore, when the settings are changed on the equalizer, the sound does not change. My gut feeling is that some registry settings are missing, but I don't have a Herald, so I have no idea if this is device specific or not.
Well the topic says it all.
I want to add a sound to the opening and/or closing of the keyboard.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Any hacks for this? I suppose that the opening of the keyboard calls some kind of an event (since sliding it open changes the screen orientation) So can this same event call be used to assign a sound as well?
I also want to kno this and was going to ask right before I came 2 see this link...so please answer!
There are some really talented people here. I would have thought someone would have done this by now. But I assume, from lack of info, that this hasn't been considered before?
Would someone, who has the skill set to do this, consider looking into it and seeing if it is possible?
Thanks a million!!
Have a good one
Try this thread.....
Cheers!
That thread refers to the Herald, or Tmobile Wing. I found this thread and thats all I've been able to find for the Wizard or Tmobile MDA.
There may be a registry key that needs to be modified/added after installing the HTC Sliding Sounds application to make it 'active' for the Wizard.
Any ideas?
Im trying to figure it out too.. I dunno how to get it to initiate...
Need someone with the Herald (T-Mobile Wing) to help
Under HKEY\LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SlidingSound there are 2 keys 'ActiveSlidingSound' and 'SlidingSoundEffect', these are for setting which sound of the 3 available to use, I'm assuming.
Anyone out there know someone with a Herald or T-Mobile Wing that is willing to share what they have in this folder in their registry?? Maybe there's and EnableSound key or something to that effect that us Wizard users can add and we'll have a happy day!

I just checked mine and under SlidingSound, there are 3 folders... 0, 1, and 2. Each folder has 3 keys... Default, in, and out. "Default" is the name for the sounds (ex: Wind Chimes, Piano, and Xylophone), "in" is the location of the file used for when the keyboard slides in (ex: Slider0_in.wav), and the same applies to "out" for when the keyboard slides out (ex: Slider0_out.wav).
Also inside the SlidingSound folder are 2 more keys... ActiveSlidingSound and SlidingSoundEffect. ActiveSlidingSound refers to which sliding sound you want to use... so in this case it would be one of the 3 folders mentioned above (0,1, or 2). SlidingSoundEffect refers to whether or not you want the sliding sound on. (0 = off, 1 = on).
Hope this helps!
I installed the software that was made by JUVS....it does not work on my MDA.
Any other ideas? I had tried searching before I made this thread initially, and i had not seen the 2 that are discussed here. I apologize for having made a 3rd one.
Back on topic, I certainly hope this can be made to work. Any other ideas?
Thanks for all the info so far.
Later
this is a really cool idea, i would also like to know how to do it...

Thanks so much! This does help!
Unfortunately, I have the same keys on my MDA after installing the application for the SlidingSounds and it doesn't make sounds when I open the keyboard physically. I'm suspecting that the MDA is missing something, possibly a hardware switch (don't think so, though, cause it has to detect when the keyboard opens for landscape mode).
My guess is that this will not work on the MDA
Umfortunately I'm not a programmer, but I was thinking that the easiest way to get somethig like this to work would be to link the sound to play with the screen rotation instead of trying to get it to work when the keyboard is slid out which obviously isn't working anyway. It would play the sound if you rotated your screen manually, but I can't see why that would be a big deal. Maybe someone with a little programming knowledge could get this to work though.
I wanna keep this thread alive. SlidingSounds is something i wanna see work for wizards. It'll be cool if someone could craft a workaround or a new prog altogether.
Opening the keyboard is an event, shouldn't be hard to craft something to have it make a sound.
Any updates on this? I downloaded the app and it hasn't done anything, especially when messing with the registry. Thanks.
I've been working on tis as well but it seems that there is no way to adjust the registry to get it to work. I believe a app is gonna have to get the wizard to have this feature.
This would be so cool.. Alot of people have 'flip' style phones, and when they open them, they have some funny sounds. Would be great to have on the Wizard!
Anybody figured this out yet? I'm really sure it can be done.
im all about hacks for the wizard, but...
im assuming that you saw a wing and are trying to duplicate it...
WHY would you want it to do this?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!
same question for the menu pop sound?
those are the most annoying things i've seen on phone... well except for the default startup and shutdown sounds on all retail phones... when you turn off your phone, isnt because you're somewhere that you should be sure it wont be ringing/vibrating?
but on the other hand i still can't understand why people like to have the keys beep on their regular cell phones when they are txting...
sorry for the rant... i just don't get it

Maybe because we love the bells and whistles a gadget can make, it's all about your custom love that you want to have, not just everyone's universal preference. Some of us love to customize our phones to suit our personality, not just YOURS. Maybe these sounds grab attention of chicks, maybe this wallpaper makes us look cool in the sight of geeks. It's all personal prereference.
That's why I want keyboard Sliding Sounds to work. It's just one more thing that will grab the attention of people to see that, yes, I don't need a new phone every six months or so. I can make a new one using an old one by utilizing hacks.
what are you guys using for switching profiles ?
i'm looking for a basic profiles app along thelines of ppcprofiles or phoneweaver.
unfortunately, i cannot seem to get phoneweaver to work at all - changing profiles says that the notification has changed but it never does.
is anyone else having this problem or should i blame it all on tf3d ?
thanks in advance
I always use the SPB movile shell and want more profiles too!
you could use spb phone suite. it works but imho it takes up too much place on the today screen.

Hi there all,
you could use the Touch HD\ HTC profile manager. It can be found under the Xperia Programs, Panels and tweaks section for the Xperia. I was also looking for the same thing a while back, and found that.
hope that helps!

Can you post a link please? I can't find it and neither can the search engine.
At the moment I use SPB Phone Suite and it integrates into the Mobile Shell panel, if you don't like it on your today screen.
Sorry, my mistake... first post! Link Contained.
Here is the link to the whole thread:

the section your after is under Touch HD utils its called volume control

I dont think we are talking about the same thing? ... the volume control is just a new skin for setting the volume right? .. I think with profiles we mean like they are used in nokia phones where depending on your selected profile u ve a different ringtone, volume, message tone etc. ?
cause I d find something like this really useful .. at the moment I cant even figure out how to change the tone of when I receive a text message.
Looking at the Original Poster's request, I suggested a solution, which I thought fits the bill pretty well.
If you want to switch between silent, ring and vibrate then this does the job.
having read the request again, and googling the programs that mrdo tried, i see that i may have made a mistake. :S
The SPB Phone Suite is awesome! Well worth the dosh! Have as many profiles as you want plus automatic time or event based profile switching.

thanks for your input. i do have the touchstone volume control installed and it's very handy but i am looking for something that will allow me to switch ringtones, alerts and volumes at the touch of a button.
after a hard reset and yet another reinstall of my apps, phoneweaver still doesn't work. grrr and double grrr.
mrdo, what is the problem specifically? Is there an error on the device or do you start the application but nothing of significance appears?
I briefly tried phoneweaver and had the latter problem. Couldnt figure out whether it was running or not.
In the end I ended up giving up and going for the Touch HD simple profile manager.
I don't find HTC profile manager in that thread, can u post the direct link?

Hi guys,
I tried searching, but to no avail...
I'm looking for a way to acces the manilla sound settings directly from the programs-tab. Could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Don't think you can access sub tabs directly - at least I have not found a way. Thats why I wrote 3 simple small apps that set the sound for you. they each have their own icon and just run it from where ever you want. It will load, set the sound, and exit.

Well This week has been real hectic. But I want you to try my first version.
I had the system and ringer volume working but unfortunatly the manila SDK I used from micyprima (Thanks!) has problems adding new controls unless you render them from scratch. Therefor if you go longer than you screen is they won't scroll like the panel items will. I may try and create some new panel items with slider controls if I have time.
Anyway the basic funtions you want should work.
Let me know.

I applied all of the stuff mentioned by royalbloodvi in another thread here:
[Solution] MUST-HAVE For X2 Users! Speed Tweaks & How to Disable "Slideview" & Panels
So anybody, that finds those tips useful enough for him, should go with those. My problem was, that even when I applied all of the stuff, phone was still laggy, had some SOD's, sometimes turned off by itself etc. Since there is still no official note from SE about MR2, I was desperately looking for an answer. Creation of X2 subforum made my search easier, after browsing some topics, I gathered all the info, and to make it easier for you, I exposed it in this topic.
All the credits go to the topic starters in here, once again, I just gathered and compiled the info:
Xperia X2: How to change language (re-flash an Stock Spanish ROM), dreamcrawler for translation and originating tips, gbajzelj for the final idea and ultrashot and lollylost100 that provided the X2 software cabs.
***********************************
Procedure:
1) Open SEUS (SonyEricsson Update Service), start a new update. EVEN IF IT SAYS YOU HAVE LATEST VERS, UPDATE IT ANYWAY.
Another version: click on Start/Settings/System/Clear phone memory, enter all the needed info. It will put phone back into original state (MR1 - since you updated your phone to that version)
2) ONCE IT REBOOTS, CALIBRATION SCREEN APPEARS. RIGHT AFTER CLICKING ON THE CROSSES, IT WILL APPEAR THE SONY ERICSSON LOGO, AND IT WILL START APPLYING THE CABS. PUSH THE RESET RIGHT after it starts applying (hidden behind the stilus, opening the battery cover).
3) After rebooting, the Sony Logo will appear again asking to retry. Press NO. Well by default this will keep on showing up every time you restart the phone, and it will also reset your time & date setting to some time in March. But I found a solution for that. With registry editor of your choice, search for Launch190 (HKLM\init\Launch190\CustAppInstaller.exe). Delete that value, and phone won't ask you again if you want to retry the CABS instalation, also it won't change your Time & Date setting again!!
IMPORTANT: After that, phone returns to original WIN 6.5.2 state, without BUGGY SE stuff. At that point, phone is usable, stable and fast. You will have about 220 MB of free space on your phone.
Now you can go further by installing some of the SE stuff, but this is all up to you, since I don't exactly know, which one causes the problems (except for SlideView and TileWave panel, as was stated in some other posts). Grab the X2 Program cab's here: R1BA023_Original_Cabs
Put the extracted cabs on your SD card, insert it into the phone, and install stuff you want. I installed those packages:
SEMCFlashDeployment.cab
SonyEricssonDialer_1.1.0.996_vulcan_generic.cab -> New Vulcan Dialer
TaskManagerSetup.cab -> Task Manager, obviously
Camera_R109_RC1_38986.cab -> necessary for Camera
CommManagerCab.cab -> Communication Manager
FastGPSSetup.cab -> without this GPS won't work, at least did not work in my case
JMMS_Ver4.5.113_26Feb10_SE_PPC.cab -> reminded by rsx19, this one is needed for MMS
After installation of those, restart the phone. At that point around 200 MB of storage space is left, and around 120 - 130 MB of ram left. Although, it is not necessary to install all of those cabs (except for Camera, which I think is needed, unless you don't want to use camera ), it is all up to you.
Also, since you requested, I'll put down some of the cabs that are needed for different settings. But keep in mind, I am not sure if anyone of those cabs make any troubles or instability. So If you find any trouble or instability after some cab was installed, let us know and together we might find some useful solution.
Ok, to install some of the aditional setting in Setting menu, first install MyCPLSetup.cab, as I discovered, this one is neccessary for following CABS for various settings:
MobileData.cab -> for mobile data settings (HSDPA, ..)
ClearStorage.cab -> installs Clean Phone Memory
PhoneSettings.cab -> updates the Phone in Settings/Personal
SetupSNM.cab -> installs new Sounds & Notifications under Settings/Personal..
For the Illumination to work, install those 2 cabs:
IlluminationSvc.cab
PatternsSetup.cab -> SE Illumination Patterns, don't forget to restart phone after you install those two, and go back to Sounds & Notifications to set the illumination for various events.
After you install those cabs (not necessary to install them all, it's up to you) restart the phone and options will show up in Settings or desired category.
Don't forget, when you finish with installation of cabs, do a restart / soft reset of the phone, since some changes may not show until a restart / soft reset is done!
Using the phone with Windows Default theme, it runs smooth. Also battery life so far seems to be improved, but will have to run it few more days to tell the difference.
So far, my phone is lightspeed fast and, which is more important - stable!! You can now also try to apply settings, royalbloodvi provided in this thread - maybe you get even better performance:
[Solution] MUST-HAVE For X2 Users! Speed Tweaks & How to Disable "Slideview" & Panels
Ok, some are still having problems with SD cards being unrecognized or disappearing, here is the patch: SD Card Fix
Accelerometer based rotation:
If you loose the rotation during the setup of CABS, and you still want to use it, this is how you turn it back on: with registry editor open (HKLM\Services\MultiService\mods\Rotation\AccelBasedRotationEnabled). If your rotation is gone, this key has the 0 value. Change it to 1 and you get your accel based rotation back. I have yet to find out, which cab disables it!
I'd like that you people give feedback in here, which CABs are safe and needed to install apart from those I (originally gbajzelj) posted.
PS
I personally don't like the idea of stripping the phone down to the bone to make it work. If you buy a new car, it works as it was send out of the factory..you don't need to unscrew half of the engine, disable the steering, take out the seets to make it work. Same is with computers, just everything. But until MR2 comes out and hopefully repairs all the damage that was done with MR1, this is the solution for me.
Also thanks to everyone helping to make this phone less bugy and somehow usable

Hm, I tried and my GPS was also unresponsive, so I installed FastGPS and it helped!
its gbajzelj not gbanzelj ) np.
When i installed spb 3.5.3 and reloded weather info then when i turned off the phone and turned it on again the weather data was not saved and the wireless or data conscction did connect but did not load no new data from weather server. Skyfire did load the pages (the connection i guess did work) but spb shell did not load the weather data anymore.
i would also like if anione can make the camera button to open the camera app withouth the slideview. maybe a simple cab file just to set the camera button.
Sorry for typo
Does it ask you every time you restart the phone if you want to continue with setup?
If it does, did you notice that it resets the date? Thats a problem I'm trying to solve now Every time my phone restarts, date is set to 17. March -> maybe thats why your weather data is not reloaded??
For me, when I press the Camera button it opens the CameraApp. I installed only Camera Cab as you sugested, no SlideView, and it works!

I have one question though for battery life issues: Which cab do I install to be able to turn off HSDPA? I've tried installing mobiledata cab but it doesnt show up..

1) Settings -> Connections -> Mobile Data -> HSDPA Disable
2) Yes, it always asks to retry installing the CAB PLUS resets the date PLUS time all the time.
Just noticed it the time & date bug, this really bothers me =S
I just realised a lot of the cabs like clearphonememory cab doesnt show up in the start menu like mobiledata..

About the Time & Date bug, I think every time the phone starts as after I made MR1 update...so we must somehow find what is telling the phone that the software is not installed (if we trick the phone that is was fully updated and will not ask for retry at startup, this date & time bug will probably go away) - solution found, check first post
About missing things in Settings, I think it is all connected with MyCPLSetup.cab solution found, check first post
ok so the ACCELEROMETER WAS WORKING when i reset the phone, but once i installed everything you listed, auto rotate stopped working. what can i do to get it back? i really dont want to go back through the process again
Also which cab is 'sounds and notification' the one i have now doesnt have as many settings as before, and also which cab is for the optical pad.

You don't need to reinstall, just check the first post, I updated it with solution for that - you just have to change one registry setting!
For Sound & Notification settings install SetupSNM.cab! For the Optical I have yet to find out, I'm doing my best, but can't be that fast I guess I did about 10 reinstalls and about 100 restarts of the phone today
awesome, do you know which one is auto time update

You mean the Timezone tab in Phone settings? When it automaticly changes time due to time zone change?
In this case it would be:
TimezoneSvcSetup.cab
well like, before there was a auto time update check box, now i cannot find it, and ill install the right now and hopefully your right :]
EDIT, i still do not see auto time update
also does the SetupSNM.cab also include everything needed for the lights?
EDIT ALSO, add to your list since i assume most people use mms JMMS_Ver4.5.113_26Feb10_SE_PPC.cab for mms
What is 'settingspart1, settingspart2' are those extended settings?

Maybe you know where that Auto Time Update setting was? And if you restarted the phone, after installation?
For the Illumination, check first post
Thanks for the reminder on MMS, will add it now!
For the settingspart1 & 2, I have to check don't know yet

"shc1:"=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\State\Resuming]
"shc1:"=dword:00000000

Did you went back to the Sounds & Notifications and selected vibration? Becouse at the moment, only cabs I have installed are:
MYCPLSetup, SetupSNM, IlluminatonSVC and PatternsSetup, and illumination & vibration works for me. Or do a soft reset again, it might help.

illuminations work and all the settings are set, but still no vibe.
