New WA2 theme by xcilion Vista Portable QVGA

I just wanted to share my excitement, I've been waiting on the QVGA version of this theme to come out for some time. xcilion's work is simply beautiful. Here are a few screen shots of his Vista Portable theme.

Wow, FINALLY.
Surely he could have done a better job with the signal bars.
edit: looks good, though.

Noticed on some of his screenshots that instead of having the usual two buttons on the bottom task bar he had icons instead.
How is this done ? I have wisbar advance 2 and i launcher. Is there any way to do it with those or is it a seperate plugin/program ?

Awesome theme, just loaded the parts of it that I can use, and it's much better than the Vista theme I was using previously. If it had themese for PhoneAlarm and AlarmToday, it would be just about perfect! Excellent job!

Wow, how did you get the phone screen to look like that. Did you use Contact Breeze or something. Simply amazing. Would you be so kind to let me know how to costumize my phone screen similar to the one you have.

what background image are you using??

i love the vista theme. been using it for a few days now
thnalks for the link on the dialer. installing it now

question about skining the dialer. i have the dialer working. then on the site it said to copy all the files on the skin zip file (all image files) then drop them in the windows folder on the phone. i did that and replaced all the files as it said. but the skin is still the same...
did i do some thing wrong?

Its the one ripped from the 700w rom....I have attached it, although you can find it several places on this forum..... i too love this theme and it looks good with the black dialer from the today screen post....Does anyone know of some good today themes to go with this though???

These themes have some benefit to use,which are:
- Unique designs.
- Easy to switch labels, among text, number, fx and calculator modes.
- Finger friendly.
- Zoom button preview.
- Pressed state available, so if you disable the Zoom preview you still can see which button you are pressing.
- In text modes, you can find 7 frequently used characters and if you press Shift, there will be 7 additional characters which making total of 14.
- Clear indicators on which modes (text,number,fx,calc) you are in now.
- Complete buttons (including special characters like ü, Ü, etc).
- VGA & QVGA support.
- Portrait & Landscape support.

Scratch that. Its very small. I prefer their iSkin skin much better. I can type faster and more accurately.

Welp, I was gonna give it a try, but I see its smaller the iSkin. Guess its a no-go. I can type pretty fast with the iSkin. Maybe if you made it bigger

Uh, I don't know what you're talking about. I've been using iskin for a while and I've had no problems. And I use SMS-Chat for messaging, besides email. But if your keyboard was bigger, I might would give it a try

Sorry I am not good in making themes for keyboard I just like to post or
refering "PEOPLE'S ART" for you all in this belove forum ..example of "no
complete" buttons for iskin I mean is like I even can't find "=" to press when I
need to use..that is just one button..If you want to figure it out iskin is really
lacked of buttons..btw what is SMS-Chat?

And I found out there are still so many lack of buttons on iskin ..not only "="

Oh ok. I gotcha now. Yea iSkin does lack some symbol buttons, thats one thing i don't like. But I like the size of the skin, I'm very accurate with it. And it's VITO's SMS-Chat http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-touch-keyboard-v1-0.html

I've been working on this... it will eventually be a full theme, skinning the today screen, cube, media player, ect.

One of my favorite aspects so far is the theme can be easily "customized" by changing the background to almost anything else, and everything else still looks nice.
I'm trying to figure out how to change the top bar.. I'd like to change it to black, but still keep that kind of "3D" look that it has now unlike the other themes ive seen which have a flat black top bar.
The AIM icon can be fixed up a little bit, It came out a little more grey than i wanted.
What i'd like, but i dont know how it would work would be above the icons i have on the bottem id like a sliding bar (kind of hard to explain, it should look something like [ ] [ ] [ ] ) and each one of those boxes will be a picture that when hit will act a speed dial. Preferably id like the boxes to be greyscale till pressed and held down it turns to color.. Anyone know if this can be done?

No, not yet. It will allow me to set up that speed dial function? I'll have to check it out..

I like it so far. I think that the clock text (12:06 AM) should look nicer if its smoothed out. The edges look really pixelated. Some way to make the text flow with the theme would definately be a plus.

i think it would look great with a flat black bar. also, if you integrated some sort of icon(s) showing if BT or wifi is on, this theme would be bomb.

I think im going to go for the flat black bar as kind of a last resort, It may possibly look fine. However, I like the bar that it has much better. I just want it to be black.

Can't remember exactly where it is, but to get black bars (black with the 3d effect) you need to change the "BaseHue" value to 160... I can't remember where in the registry that is, but it's somewhere! I'll dig it up when i have the time...

Once its finished, I'll just compress it with all the files. If people need it, Im sure i wont have a problem providing a .cab

I made a little something for you!
Tippy is a bill splitter and tip calculator for Windows Mobile. It was designed to work on all resolutions and to never require use of the stylus.
I improved many things with v.1.1. Lots of bugs were fixed, UI was made easier to use and a big button SIP was added for number input. You should definitively update if you have 1.0!

I was affraid the demand would be too small but seeing people are interested I'll pursue development a bit.
VGA for devices is ready (Force QVGA) but it needs .net CF and I didn't want it around for a first release. I'll also add more currency symbols as suggested on another forum.
Something I did that I would like to see more often is settings saved to text files. It can be edited easily by anyone and leaves nothing after uninstall.

i still haven't been able to put it on my phone, but i'll have a crack at it tonight... from the screen shot on your site... i like how the tip percentage and number of people are configured with finger friendly buttons... what do you think about adding an easier way to add the amount to tip? i don't know if you've used g-alarm... but maybe something like how you set the alarm time in that? where you have add/subtract buttons below each digit (that way u wouldn't have to bring up the keyboard).

That's interesting. I'll try G-Alarm and look for what you are talking about.
I might add a pop-up form with a keypad when you click the text box and see how this work.
I don't like the look very much so I might add a cuter UI (skinnable ) if it doesn't slow down the launch time too much.

I love the idea, and tried it. BUT the calucation is WRONG. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Oops! You are right! Once you start messing with the amount of people present it gets ugly. I'll fix that soon enough!
I don't test my apps enough

I fixed the results so they should be accurate now.
I'm currently working on a big keypad to type the amount. I will also add some languages and currencies and eventually skinnable interface.
UPDATE:
I made the following changes:
-Tip is now accurately calculated
-The amount is entered using a SIP keypad
-The + and - buttons for tip and people are now changing individual digits instead of the whole number. It's much faster and easier to enter it now.
-Changed the look a bit, fixed control resize errors when rotating screen, VGA should work well.
After all I won't add a skinnable UI to save space and keep the app fast and usable.
I only have a few minor fixes left to be done so I should release v.1.1 tomorrow. (I'm on Ubuntu and I'm too lazy to reboot... and Vista sucks).

A lot of stuff was fixed, including all of the suggestions except languages

I tried loading the today theme picture as the background but it slowed everything down
I might try an alternative later.

Wrong way round
Hi there, thanks for this. The graphics looks really ace. Just one question though. I have it installed and it seems as though it is the big icons that are in the back ground and when the slider moves over them they get smaller (I thought the purpose of the slider was to zoom in on the icons). Thought I would point this out incase it was unintentional. Or it could be something on my phone doing the wrong thing.

I think that is how it works too...not sure...on the other tabs like in contacts they seem to stay the same size.
I used HDWall to create it and all the images were the same size for both large and small icons and just had HDwall resize it.
I thought the icons stayed the same size and the large ones appeared in the middle of the screen. It is hard to see the tab with your finger on them when you are sliding so I am guessing the larger ones are suppose to be in middle of screen.
Will look into it though.

can i use this on my htc fuze thats vga?? im guessing that i can but would like to be certain before i do to save myself some problems!!! they look bad ass btw!!! and are these your own mock up or the actually ones from the htc mega?? does this also have all the tf3d v2 12 icons cause i only seen 11?

They are all from the Mega device except for Stocks and Calendar. The Calendar is from WM 6.5 and the Stock is from some website I found online. I just touched them up and used HDWall to import them.
I would guess they would work on a VGA device. Give them a shot and let me know. They will uninstally properly, well they should

Sorry I am not a graphic artist...just a low lever modder The icons were already like that in the ROM and all I did was use HDWall to make slider.

Update again
I updated the files once again. In the current slider the icons go from big to small as you slide in the new version it is more like the OEM. It was pointed out earlier in the thread and just "fixed" it.
