yesterday, I wanted to dial a number using the dialer of my Touch HD. I did not do this for a while, so I was pretty surprised to see a VERY messed up dialer window. The numpad was somehow shifted and not complete, so dialing a "1" resulted in a "4". Some parts of my Spb-Lifestyle wallpaper were visible. Long story short, the whole thing looks very ugly and dialing is almost impossible.
Later on, I found a second issue: calling a friend via the contact screen, I realised that the whole "during the call" screen is gone (the one with "hold call" etc), the screen just goes black during calls except the "keypad" button at the bottom (which does not work, as I said before).
I have absolutely no clue what causes these problems with the dialer. Since it worked the last time, I installed several things:
- Spb Mobile Shell 3.0 --> uninstalled it, no change
- ChangeScreen --> disabled it, no effect
- HTC hotfix for accepting calls --> unistalled it, no change
- Navigon --> did not yet try uninstalling
- I tried to get it fixed by installing IPC black dialer, no improvement (the messed-up screens are black now - wow! )
My ROM is Dutty 2.9.
It would be great if you guys have a suggestion how I can fix my dialer!

Hello all,
I did some searching and haven't really been able to find an answer so far. I am using the eten skin with smartdialer with the black glass blue skin. The problem is that all of the buttons have a gray shadow behind them. What's even more funny is the "History" button has a shadow behind it that says "Call History" and they don't seem to match up at all. Overall, none of the buttons are aligned correctly. Does anyone else have this problem and have you found a workaround?

First and foremost the Eten dialer program doesn't seem to work properly with smartdialing. It takes up too much space in the upper portion and causes the replacement of some of graphics like you are seeing.
Second you are using a skin pack on top using the Eten dialer. The Eten dialer replaces almost all of the phone program graphics, then you have replaced them again. The Eten dialer does not put the graphics in the same place as the original dialer program, so things aren't aligned properly with the text.
There's a (hacked?) version of Eten that supports smart dialing.
Unfortunately I'm also suffering from the same problem. WarlockLord, were you using any of paulyA's skins before this? The text looks like "legacy text" from his classic skins. I was using the original Eten dialer with the famous orange skin before this.
I'll post again if I find a solution to this...
I use the E-Ten dialer with smartdialing for over a week now on my Wizard.
(Pauly A) Said that it has some bugs and that it is a beta version, I didn't find or noticed ANY bugs!
It works just perfect on my device (with the standard blue skin).

The problem with th e*Beta* version of the Eten dialler is that, even though the original (non-SD) version used 'drawn' buttons, the new version uses a comination of the two, the number pad is 'drawn' while the in-call pad seems to require system fonts, the PaulyA versions of skins have drawn buttons in both version... there are versions of the Eten Dialler with SD support that use drawn or system buttons here, and also a landscape skin, however I find either one has the same issues on the in-call pad!! Others seem to have had success though...
Has anyone had a problem with the Eten dialer and SPB Pocket Plus?
Every time I have them both installed, once I reboot, my device gets hung on the Windows boot screen. Any ideas?
yes I have the same problem with spb pocket plus!
First I installed pocket plus 3.0 and afterwards the E-Ten Dialer, then I tried it the other way round: first Eten Dialer, then SPB Pocket Plus...same result:
It hangs up in the windows mobile startup-screen.

Big problem!!..phone MDA Vario (Qtek9100) with molski ROM
When i press phone button to switch on phone dial application i just see white background...I tested many skins for phone dialer and all as ok, but than ...at once...i tested one more and i get white background..if i see my last call history or quick dial, it's everytihng OK, just on main screen with dial pad, there is "whitness"...i can press buttons, it's work but i'cant see them..
If i use some skin with black numbers, than i see only numbers...again all other white...
I tested Today Background in transparency with 0%,but after that i put transparency back to normal (i choose another wallpaper and set transpareny to 65%) .....if this have any connection with my problem....

The PaulyA skins like black glass and the others based on the Eten dialers have a couple of issues. Firstly the talk button does not redial, it just does nothing. Second in the dialer screen the left soft key instead of being linked to contacts is linked to hide the dialer.
Can anyone help? Its happening on a PPC6800 Mogul/Titan with WM6. I'm sure it's an issue with WM6 so anyone with a WM6 device can test this.
I have the same issue and was wondering if anyone had a fix for this as well.

Are you using the dialer without smartdial or the beta with smartdial? The beta works fine for redialing the last #...also there is an app called redial 1.02 that can be set to auto redial a busy # X times with x seconds between attempts....should be on pocketpcfreeware.com
Dialer problems
I have the same issue: the left soft key is 'Hide Keypad". It is "contacts" on the standard dialer.
When I installed it on my 8525 it worked correctly and now on my Mogul it has this 'bug'.
I sent PaulA an email today about the issue. We will see what happens.
I installed and later removed the Smart Dialer and that may have left behind some files during the Remove Programs routine. I have not done a hard reset because I have a lot of configs as well as a couple of apps I do not wnat to reinstall.

after installing too many apps this evening i found two problems:
- when i receive a new message a very little windows appears on lower left side of the home windows. This new one probably replaces the extended normal one which appears when a new sms arrives.
- when i set the ring off or vibration mode however the diamond ring but at the max volume. It's crazy !!!
These are the last apps I've installed today before find the problems:
- scorpio16v 4icons_in_row
- jizy HTC Action Screen
- Nadavi HTC Diamond - Improved Connection Manager
- ThumbCal 1.1.2
- dark Phone Pad - International
- Dictmgr
I removed all the apps but the problems persist.
What can i do?
Do you need the list of all applications installed of my Diamond?

i installed them about at this order:
- Dictmgr (install and removed because i couldn't understand how to use it)
- dark Phone Pad - International (install and removed because unuseful)
- ThumbCal 1.1.2 (install, removed than re-install two day later)
- Ringtone Manager v3.0 (softreset included)
- * scorpio16v 4icons_in_row
- * jizy HTC Action Screen
- * Nadavi HTC Diamond - Improved Connection Manager

As i wrote, i tried to uninstall all apps but the problem persist. I'm not an WM Mobile expert, but i think the problem is not in Manila, but in WM.
This morning i find the allarm doesn't start. Why? I've discovered that after connect the mobile with activesync the sms and allarm rings are shutup...then after a softreset they ring again but at the max volume, is also impossible set the sms ring at the desired volume witch ring at the max volume in any condition and any variation on the phone volume is vain, also the vibration is always off. Instead for the phone call ring and vibrate correctly.

PS. With Resco Registry Editor i tried to find any Word, Key or Strings that can set the size of the popup window but i didn't find anything. I fink the problem is in some dll or exe files (tmail.exe?)

In the autostart folder i founded a link to this app "MessageInterception.exe"
The name doesn't link very good...interception? hum...
So i've disabled this link and after a softreset now i've got an half-problem:

I've done a quicksearch and i founded an interesting thread: No SMS voice notification
I have seen this bug since the initial days of the X1. Recently after upgrade to the R2 version the problem still exist.
I just have the following things installed in the phone:
Xperia tweaks
David Andrs Batti
Facebook panel
A_S S2U2
A_C S2V
HTC TOuchflo 3D HD Beta 2
Pubba TouchFLO 3D Panel
HTC Enlarge Start Menu
HTC HTC Volume
I always use the TF3D as my defaul panel. I simply love the interface.
The issue is when the phone comes in nothing happens when i press the ANSWER button. I can reject the call but cant answer it. I need to restart the phone and things are fine again.
I think the culprit is
S2U2 or TF3D.
P.S. In s2us i dont use the slide to answer fuction.
Someone else has similar issue.
Its really irritating.
I would blame TF3D because it's the only thing you seem to have on your phone which is known to cause problems.
S2U2 works fine here, but maybe you have something done wrong in the S2U2-settings.
Try setting everything off except:
- Lock when device wakes up
- Power Save mode
- Safe mode
- Display Mode: DirectDraw
Also be sure you have the latest version installed www.ac-s2.com

Have you tried a hard reset and then not installed either (and possibly nothing else) for a few days to see if indeed it is a software issue and not a hardware fault?
it happens to me too
by any chance, do you have your phone in a pouch and then when you take it out, it switches to landscape mode from portrait and then you can press anything? thats what happens to me...
Actually I've experienced the same issue and I've posted in the Official S2U2 thread.
My thoughts is that S2U2 is the culprit, because I don't even have TF3D installed (nor ever did). I have been wrestling with trying to fix it for the past 3 hours, and I've come up with nothing!
I have seen this before and I think it is the way that the official WM caller ID tab works. It seems to always want to 'fight' another program for focus. S2U2 has a difficult time with the first call (also the first time the WM caller ID tab makes it's first appearance), but after a restart/reload of iLock2.exe, everything is fine for me.
This really sucks because I've had to resort to the default caller ID tab so that I don't miss anymore calls!
If you think thats a issue let me try setting up S2U2 to SLIDE TO ANWER option and see if it works for me.
