Hi,
I have an X1, for which I am very happy. One problem, though: My X1 is Danish, with danish æ, ø, å characters. These have dedicated buttons, but sometimes cause me problems:
1: They tend to be slower than the other buttons - feedback is so slow that sometimes these characters appear in the wrong order in a word
2: Sometimes these characters simply don't work - I can't push them - neither the 'àü' button can I press. It works again after a soft reset.
Another really annoying thing: Sometimes when I am in a conversation, and I have a calendar-alarm - it makes it completely impossible to listen to the conversation. The alarm-sound is really loud and annoying - any way to remove this (how?)
Any help is greatly appreciated
Thanks...

I prefer using the on-screen keyboard with the enlarged keys, and with the "space" key.
The problem is, that I can't find the "?". So everytime I have to ask a question, I have to change the input method - that is so irritating. I have to say, that my keyboard is scandinavian - so maybe they had to sacrifice the "?" for the local letters we have.
But, if the "?" is there on the keyboard - then do somebody know where it is hidden? And if not, is it posible in changing the layout/some letters - in a simple and easy way?
On an English keyboard the ? is accessed via the shift key.
Unfortunately that is not the case om the scandinavian keyboard. Maybe it is because there are not enough keys - since they have to include three letters more than the english (æ, ø and å).
But they have included signs like: "["
A sign most people rarely use, but a "?" people use all the time. :?
Do they ? ;-)
Sorry I have no idea, but couldn't resist.
I just recently purchased an atom stealth. Its been ok so far except for the Ezitext "multi-tap" recognition of the letters I input on the keypad.
Its very slow for typing letters. It takes about less than a second for the letter to get accepted. During the "wait time", it basically waits to see if i will change the letter I chose.
Is there any way to tweak the input method to make it recognize the letters I key-in faster?
Its very slow for SMS standards, expecially in the Philippines where Texting is an everyday communications medium.
Thanks in advance.
Good news
I just upgraded my ROM and the eZiTEXT bug has been fixed so smsing is almost like a nokia keypad There is also a multi-tap feature installed if you are more comfortable using that over ezitext.
see the forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282292&highlight=stealth "where can i find english rom for o2 atom stealth?" and download it from the link provided there by the user wepinbell2000
Thanks.
May I ask for a favor..... (and for all who upgraded to the new rom)
Can you try the multitap function and is if you can immediately move on to the next letter, of if you can immediately choose a new key right after another?
say...... if you press "2" then immediately followed by "3" on the physical keypad, do you get both the letters "a" and "d" or do you just get "d"?
this is the problem i have on my curreny rom 061128, it only recognizes the last letter i chose, not unless I wait for the letter to be accepted which takes about 3/4 of a second.
I text very fast using multitap (like in nokia).
thanks again.
EZITEXT a big mess....
any one out there who knows how to tweak/fix eZitext on my XDA Stealth... device performance is acceptable enough, but the built-in sliding pad is a big HEADACHE...
i think the design of the keypad is meant to have the STEALTH perform as a normal phone (eg NOKIA series) for text/nos inputs, but the functionality is far worst than expected...
1) eZitext has no options/menus to change some settings...
2) whenever a push on the keypad is conducted, it would be recognized, but the device will start to provide SUGGESTED WORDS that totally BUGS me OFF...
3) for fast texters, TYPED letters are not automatically displayed, leaving it to wait for additional characters thus waiting for suggested words to be formed...
Why can't they make that KEYPAD worked like the KEYPAD of XDAIIs... "WHAT YOU PRESS IS WHAT YOU GET"... regardless of what keypad options you choose... i would rather want to see this device performing, like when i want letter "C", i just need to press "2" 3x...
eZitext is annoying and should be named as EZ---- hehehe...
thanks for the future help...
I don't know what English X1 keyboards look like, but on my Swiss X1 there are three keys for ä, ö and ü. I think these keys do their job in a different way than the other keys, because I have noticed that when I slide the keyboard out and start typing, the phone is too slow to show the text in the first few seconds, and if I write a word caontianing ä ö or ü, that letter will not appear at the position where it is supposed to be according to the typing order, but at the beginning of the phrase. I therefore think that those keys trigger a special function which passes the correct key to the system, and this function is obivously way faster than the normal IRQ. So, first I would like to know whether there is a solution of this problem and if my assumptions are right, and second if there is a way to apply this behaviour to other keys or change the existing one, so that maybe we could get a ctrl key.
I have a Diamond with BsB6.5Q ROM.
Hi there, don't know if this is a ROM issue or a WM6.5 issue. I use the Compact QWERTY that is supplied in this ROM - I prefer to use the "phone keypad" style of keyboard. As I do 95% of my texts in the native Welsh language, I keep T9 switched off (there is no such feature in Welsh). However, when I write a text message in Welsh sometimes the spacebar won't work - it simply won't let me put a space there - I have to press 'enter' then 'backspace' to remove the restriction. This is not a screen sensitivity issue, because the 'shadow' appears above the spacebar to signify that it has been pressed. This problem doesn't arise when writing English texts, so I'm assuming that the problem occurs because the phone is trying to be clever and trying to predict that there shouldn't be a space after a certain letter.
I've looked through the settings and I can't find anything to switch this off. Any ideas?
Also, when writing, I would really like to be able to move the cursor backwards and forwards through the text, say if I want to correct an earlier error. Having to press the desired location with my finger is not good enough, because I need three or four attempts to get it right due to being the owner of a large thumb. I was then thinking about the Diamond's scroll wheel - this would be ideal for the job. Is there any way use that to scroll, i.e. anti-clockwise to move cursor to the left, clockwise to move right?
Thanks
Right, please ignore my last paragraph above - I completely forgot about the up/down/left/right buttons around the scroll wheel. The Left/Right buttons do exactly what I want.
Now, all I want is a fix for my keyboard problem (1st paragraph). It only happens for some words, and when it happens I cannot type any of the punctuation characters - I can only continue typing letters. Also when this happens the word (or most of it) is underlined. I don't understand why the word that's currently being typed would need to be underlined. It seems like parts of T9 is still on, even in ABC mode.
Any ideas?
Hi everyone...
I'm new in the WM world so i'm asking for your help:
How do I get PCM Keyboard to work in Portuguese?
I tried the 0.14, with a portuguese layout I found on the web (the only one I found!!!) and iphone skin... it works but... it has some bugs:
- missing the "_" in the layout
- when I try typing the name of a contact in a SMS so I would normally get the contact suggestion, the list only appears when a click on backspace button (ex.: I want to send a SMS to John, I type "J" (nothing appears), I continue typing "JO" (still nothing), then I click on the backspace button (and ONLY THEN, a suggestion list appears).
I installed the new version (0.24) but it's impossible to find a portuguese layout!!!
Any portuguese in the room (or others you may know where I can find the files I need...)?
Thank you so much!
