Rights, tried in Q&A section, but dont think anyone is actualy going there very often. Hence posting uin the software part.
With RTMP becoming more and more popular, i cant believe there isnt an app/plugin which would allow us playing back the stream either via a browser or a standalone app.
has anyone had any luck with this?
Thanks

Simple question - Is there any way to get Flash Player or Flash Lite working on the X10 with any Android browser?
use the search feature.. there's various posts already on this.
I thought there might be but i cant find them.
Because searching for "flash" comes up with flashing the device, camera flash and all kinds of other things.
So any help would be appreciated.
EDIT, dont worry i found the asnwer. No Flash on X10. Only issue i have with this phone.
fairy nuff!!.. short answer is no.. and I'm no expert, but I understand that it's not possible on And 1.6.. but maybe on 2.1 (possibly!).. or.. you can use a browser which renders flash at the server and then passes it to you in a format the handset can make sense of.. the only browser i'm aware of that can do this at the moment is skyfire.. and that's a beta test app so isn't quite there yet.. but suspect it won't be long.
skyfire browser has a kind of work around. it grabs flash videos and converts them on the fly.
i don't know if it's any good yet as i only downloaded it yesterday, but it might be what you're after
I've already tried skyfire, it didn't work lol. Well it might for videos, didn't try for them, because i'm more interested in Flash sites and games (which is what i make).
I'm using Ubuntu, but I'm guessing that isn't as much of a limitation as what Android gives us.
Probably the answer is "no" but it never hurts to ask. There doesn't seem to be an option in the PC Connection type that would even allow any software on a computer to access the hardware of the device aside from accessing files.
while i dont know of such an app, i dont think its impossible or even hard to write such an app. there are video recording apps, so all u gotta do is send that data over the usb, maybe using debugging mode.
that being said, i am too overworked to write an app like that and i have a webcam, but its an idea for any budding android developer.
have you tried the app ustream?
The app called QIK is not really a webcam but allows you to stream videos live from your device where you can have anyone you choose watch them online. Search for it in the Market it's free. Just a thought.
found this, but i can't get it to work on my nexus.
http://vikram.eggwall.com/computers/watchtower.html

but it is fully open sourced if anyone wanted to dig into it and see what's going on with it.
I'd think it would be pretty awesome if someone got this working.
Ustream.tv has an app to broadcast and another app to watch broadcasted streams. The best part about ustream is that it is also viewable within your Internet browser on incredible. Also for the app that broadcasts it has option to also record what you've broadcasted. I recommend checking it out.
Since it's now possible to install apps in the Q, I was wondering if there's an app for streaming audio directly to the Nexus Q from your computer or something like that via WiFi. Like WiFi speakers. Do you know any app that can do the job?? Would it be difficult to develop?
I think something that uses AirPlay would work well enough. I haven't tried it though - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bubblesoft.android.airbubble&hl=en
I'm planning on trying this out this weekend to see how far I can get (and possibly putting together some sort of AirPlay receiver service specifically for the Q).
After a little search
After a little search I found this. The only downside is that the server is Windows only.

Questions go in the Q&A section
When using Chrome on my Nexus 10 and streaming audio on a one tab, when I switch to a different tab the music stops.
I did some digging and found this solution:
https://chromiumcodereview.appspot.com/11361239
I'm a complete noob when it comes to implementing the solutions posted. Since I don't want to wait until they update Chrome and implement these modifications, I want to be able to put them in myself. The problem is I have no idea how. I tried searching but couldn't find anything relevant. Maybe I'm just not looking up the right keywords?
If somebody could please tell me/point me in the right direction, I'd really appreciate it.
I look forward to regaining functionality it should have, just like I look forward to rooting it once I have some time this weekend.

Use a different browser that supports it, or Floating Browser minimized while streaming. Chrome simply doesn't have this functionality yet.

The reason I use chrome is because it syncs my bookmarks, making my browsing life much easier in general. I just want to know if anyone knows how to implement those code changes, giving Chrome that functionality.
You'll need to wait until Chrome for Android is completely open sourced. Its about 95% done so shouldn't be but a month or two.

Well got my Ouya today. So hoping soon to see how to do more with this or side load the apks... or better yet, have google play loaded heh.
So I am wondering how many devs we have here trying to work on some new firmware cause this system.. really could use a lil overhaul heh.
Anyone manage to get a media server player going on it yet? Wouldnt mind that ability.
My review on it as go:

There are some problems loading Google Play that devs are tying to work out with a custom rom. But as for media servers anything that works on a Tegra 3 device should also work on Ouya. I've been using Bubble UPnP and XBMC.
Well I still have to learn how to load up say Media House for upnp media server browsing, then a video player like MX Player. So much to catch up on, but yea.. this thing needs root asap. Does rooting it mess up anything from Ouyas store wise or lock anything out?
Update: Install dropbox.apk to make installing future apks much easier... also use it to store ROMs for your emulators and run it like that.
Also purchase http://www.amazon.com/Rii-Wireless-Keyboard-Multimedia-Handheld/dp/B004716NFE which is what I just hooked up to my Ouya, makes life easier in terms of a keyboard!
