Software suggestions?

Hi. I'm currently waiting för my Qtek S100 and now I'm interested in what software I should buy to get what's missing in Windows Mobile. I currently use an iPAQ, så I have some knowledge about common programs, but I would like to know what programs are suggested for the phone part of the Qtek. Money is not an issue.

indeed a good suggestion. Maybe we can make a list of essentials.

My top 10 apps are,
1)Spb PocketPlus2 <--- Close button that really closes. ZIP support in File Explorer and many more.
2)PocketZenPhone <--- A phone profile. A MUST HAVE!! better than JGUI buggy apps (no hard feelings dude :lol: )
3)Dashboard Minute Tracker <---- Track Phone minutes on a daily/monthly basis. Includes configurable plans, alerts, graphs, call log export, and signal strength!
4)PocketMusic <--- Nice interface and it plays OGG too. :lol: i love my oggs.
5)Bejeweled2 <--- Drive me NUTS coz i cant beat my GF high score
6)MorphGear <--- Awsome Emulator
7)Bryht Flash Player <--- Play your flash clips and game in full screen.
8)CabInstl <--- Makes installation in the chosen place, instead of by default, as standard installer.
9)RealOne Player <--- ...must i say anything?
10)Hope someone will make a camera apps or games. B4 the magician, i used to own a NK6600. I juz missed those camera games like Mosquitos, Killer Virus and etc.

why do you run Pocket RAR? SPB gots his own zipper i thought.
All i want is no crap and just the needings and the goodies

i also want to know if there is some other camera software. (No not becouse of the quality). I saw an Ipaq with a cool camera screen... someone knows this?

SPB only unzip. Pocket RAR unzip and unrar. RAR has better compression then ZIP. Maybe some prefer RAR rather then ZIP. As for me, i prefer RAR

Nice! Now I have a ton of new stuff to look up and try. If I get my freakin phone!

RAR files are sometimes much smaller than ZIP files, but in the worst case, they become same size as ZIP, but never larger!
RAR is much more better than ZIP, also it does support archive recovery & its possible to fix damaged RAR files easily. :wink:

GSplayer
Has anyone got gsplayer to work through a proxy on a XDAII ported to SE. I can browse via Active Sync but I cannot get to shoutcast via GSplayer even though I have put the same proxy address in both connections and gsplayer.
Help will be greatly appreciated.

my essentials:
PhonePlus - must must have for easy dialing and using phone features.
Phone dashboard - good for statistics
truefax - have plenty of bugs but when it works it worth it.

Do U have some problems with pocket informant...cause if I want to call somebody from my contacts it always opens the PI5 contacts and it is veeery dificult to call someone with one hand....and without the pen.

Pocket Backup - backup Duh (no. 1 app)
Agenda Fusion - for all your info needs (no. 2 app)
Rest is just handy stuff, like:
nBop (see ultimate mp3 thread)
SPB GPRS monitor (came with my Compact)
MySports Training - keep my workouts organized
And I almost forgot (these two apps are so small and integrate so well, I ovelooked them)
Calender+ And Task+ (more info in today screen)

Hi, after alot of playing and hardresets i have finaly found all the software i like to use on a sort of day to day basis.

Yeah the size of pocketplus along with the fact it seemed to slow my universal down.

well it seems like im the only one putting up with pocket plus, i will have to do a full backup and hard reset and try and install the programs you are all using instead of pocket Plus features.
Opera- i have been interested in using this as i think PIE is very feature-less, but i have been worried about the size of the install, do you know how much resouces it takes up installing and running?

OT slightly, is there a general consensus on the best Alarm Clock (pref with maximise to full screen option/screen buttons) for the Exec?

I don't know how much memory opera consumes but i think it depends on the website. the merrier the web site the more it consumes memory (i think ).

Im still looking for a game that can realy show off the ability of our Universal?

I used to have Batti on but I found my exec crashed every night while it was on charge (I've got the latest exec ROM on which to be honest, I find pretty unstable)
The main thing I would miss about pocket plus would be the close button menu thing - I've got it set so I can tap and hold on a close button a bring up a menu of what's running.
I know magic button does this but it screws up the display slighly and\or uses non-VGA graphics which I don't like.
Is there a way around this as I also find pocket plus to be a bit bloaty and slow...

Hi,
Not sure what you mean by screws the display?
I use magic button, but dont show the task bar (the program icons) unless needing to switch apps quickly - and havent had any issues.

I believe what LordSmith meant was Magic Button shows a small blank square on the right upper corner where the "x" or close botton appears when you open an application, if you have for example a gray colored menu bar or task bar. My solution for this is just simply stay away from the gray color and use sky blue or the default windows blue color. Aside from that Magic Button is great and shows all my running apps nicely.

All i use for day2day use is SPB, and i think it is too much though.
I use PIE, Email, Sync, Excel, WinWord, Tasks, Calendar,
Basically all the available options, and i don't (IMHO) think i need all these extra stuff.

That is clearly WisBar Advance Desktop. Take a look at the few screen shot / today thread, they have the exact (or rather similar) screen shot.

2. my friend says.. wisbar aint.
3. it comes with softreset, hardreset, shutdown etc. wisbar aint.. u have to install separately..

im talking about a software like wisbar.. which includes shutdown, softreset, hardreset etc.. its INCLUDED.
and beside.. if u look clearly.. the wisbar windows xp are nothing compared to the link i showed.. first of all.. start is at the bottom. and there are alot ****s.. that u dont find in wisbar.. if u look close to that site.
for pocketwin.. i gotta check it out.

I think what you have is the iSpin Launcher which is a Palm OS program, not for Pocket PC. That's as far as I can read, I can't read Thai, sorry.

I like CEPaint, its simple and look just like windows paint

there's also "confetti" available on here somewhere.
not really a paint clone but it keeps my daughter amused for hours, and great for basic doodles.
