just finished downloading this ROM. Will give it a go now.

I got the phone on 18-April, when I first got it, straight away I went to HTC and look for new rom, I think this is the rom that I'm currently using.
rom version: 2.32.707.2 (44800)
rom date: 04/07/09
radio version: 0.41.30.12
protocol version: 12.41.30.16H
Never use the old rom before, can't give any comparison comment but so far I have no problem with this rom.

I have same ROM as you have

Is there a lot of difference with what we have before?
I'm quite happy with the ROM i have now and am afraid that if I upgrade to the new ROM, some of the software i have installed will not work anymore after I do a restore from my backup file. Thanks in advance

the only 'problem; i notice is activesync is always on eating 99k usage. even if u off it, it will come back on
but i not sure what trigger it on. i think it will auto on. this is the only bug i notice so far.
some minor improvement overall

thanks
thanks for the info nicolashew

1. Fixed auto-reboot issue after enabling WLAN.
Yesterday I encounter twice reboot while browsing a chinese website, it reboot after I entered my username and password and click on login. I'm using the opera browser, but later on I tried with other website, it doesn't happen, weird problem...

yup being test it since its being release...
kind of better gps reception. some improvement on the answering call menu... got 1 new menu pop up which you can slide to right to answer or left to ignore...

nothing outstanding about the ROM.

Just for information and for those that like to check from time to time:
There are links to the latest Software Downloads from HTC Europe and US on the Google Search Sticky. Look near the end of the post for the links.

Beware upgrade to unlocked phones...
Hi All,
I wanted the improved stability etc from this upgrade but after upgrading an unlocked phone, found out that the GPRS would no longer connect. the connect process seems to just hang.
Shame cos the update seemed worthwhile.
Cheers,

I doubt this has anything to do with the device being unlocked, which radio version are you using, what version is in the update?
Unlocked Phone
Wouldn't have anyting to do with it as my phone is supercid and just for kicks I reverted back and flashed the ATT update when it came out. I ran it for 4 days with no gprs problems. Then flashed back to our talented cooked roms here. Has to be some other reason.

TMO Wing 4.26.531 soon?

On T-Mobile web site I noticed information about "How do I perform a device software upgrade?"
http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm52082.htm#top.
it refers to
"How do I determine what software version I have? (T-Mobile Wing™)"
http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm52081.htm?
which states that "The new software version is 4.26.531".
But new software in not available yet http://www.t-mobile.com/wmupgrade/
maybe when WM6.1 comes out?

It's very very unlikely that T_Mobile is going to release WM 6.1, but even if it's just WM6 it's still a much awaited update since it's the only one WIng users have gotten!
Oh by the way, i really hope too that it's WM 6.1, since ATT released it for their phones(Tilt).
according to microsoft, WM6.1 doesn't even exist. i contacted customer service asking when it was coming out because the internet isn't helping and after about 5 minutes of looking, the guy said WM6.1 doesn't exist and to talk to HTC about windows mobile updates . . .
The Wing ROM update 4.26.531 is available!
I too was frustrated with T-Mobile's website that was missing a link to the download for the new ROM for the Wing. My wife has a Shadow that is also made by HTC. I downloaded a ROM update for her phone and I copied the URL and changed the last part from shadow to wing. Amazingly, the link worked. Yesterday I was on the phone with tier-3 support from T-Mobile and they escalated the issue to the web development team. We didn't expect an immediate resolution due to the holiday.
So here is the valid link to download the T-Mobile Wing ROM update that http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm52082.htm#top says is available.
The ROM update is at: http://member.htc.com/RuuDownload/T-mobileUS/DeviceDownloads.aspx?pid=wing
Happy Updating your ROM! I am so glad this worked.

Any idea what is changed / new in this update?
has anyone tried this yet?
I'm updating my backups and getting ready to try this. I'll let you know how it goes ,and in a few days to let you know how it works in my machine.
can you post anything you notice right away? i'm hoping this is 6.1, what else would it be?
I have a T-Mobile Wing USA.
I am flashing it right now:
1. I extracted the RUU_signed.nbh and flashing via MMC.
2. It scans 2 OS's from the nbh.
3. Reading second OS from SD!
4. Flashing second phase OS
5. Success, Press any key.
6. T-Mobile Splash
7. Original Windows 2nd splash (no indication of version)
8. Typical alignment screen
9. Stylus tutorial screen
10. Password screen
11. complete screen
12. Customization tool
13. 3-5 minute wait then reset
14. T-Mobile start up jingle
15. Installing MyMobiler for initial browsing of the phone now.
Follow up with pics in a little bit.
Pictures are now added. As stated by the next OP the ROM is much more efficient/faster than original stock. But it is WM6. No need to downgrade if you are using custom a custom rom with 6.1.
To upgrade/downgrade with HardSPL use winrar to remove the "RUU_signed.nbh" from exe. Rename to heraimg.nbh put on the root of MMC and install.
Note: I already have went back to "Just2Clean Wing - zcink Edition". I won't be able to answer any questions. I have to have threaded sms and a lightweight ROM.
It's still WM6. There's 17.5mb or ram available without any mods, and it seems to run a little faster, but it's still the same rom. It's version 4.26.531.1. Basically, tmo doesn't care what we want. If you want 6.1, buy a new phone or make your own.
I can't uprom
I did HardSPL so that I could uprom.
But I can't uprom that is from T-mobile website.
How do I have to do ?
If you have a HardSPL'd Herald/Wing/Atlas, use 7zip or WinRAR to extract the contents of the file. Delete the SPL.nbh file. Flash.
I tried it, but I'm disappointed with it... It's just more useless old junk... at most, it might be a good starting point for a ROM base.
well i updated, wing seems SLOWER!!! well after a few resets it's about the same, overclocking to 247.
2 things i've noticed, if you are in the text message program, with all your messages, and you receive a new one, the pop up still comes up, i find that very annoying. also, you now have MMS options in the menu option in the text message area.
the COMManager looks "cleaner" and smaller as well
I didn't install anything but MyMobiler and the ROM seemed fast. No overclocking either. But again I won't live with out threaded sms.
I noticed that the radio rom is upgraded to 03.21.90. Does anyone notice any difference with the new radio rom or is it basically the same as 03.07.90 that came with my device.
what are you using for threaded SMS?
So far I don't see any major differences. It seemed a little faster, but it still benchmarks the same. The only minor diff was more available ram before modding, but once I cleaned out the startup folder I had 26mb just like before. I'll see if the radio makes any diff at work Tuesday.
Happy Memorial Day!
Well it's been 16 hours since my last soft reset and it's still got 23mb of ram available. That's practically unheard of on a stock rom. I still need to cook my own to get rid of this MyFavs crap, but this seems like a good starting point...

New Official ROM

anybody upgrade ?
A New Official ROM has been released????
Upgrade available on Europe site but does not yet appear on HTC Australia website. None of these fixes/upgrades look very useful, apart from maybe "Enhanced Opera’s browsing performance while running other applications" but I never had any problems with Opera anyway...
Is it possible they may include other fixes not listed on their site (such as the memory leak problem?) - here's hoping!!
I'm downloading it from the global website...
I'll try to upload and post the link here when I'm done.
*edit*
Got it... did not flash it yet...
Here is the link:
Code:
http://rapidshare.com/files/221229743/_HTC_Touch_3G_MR2009_RUU_Jade_HTC_Europe_2.32.401.2_Radio_Sign_12.41.30.16_0.41.30.12_Ship.exe
I installed it, but it has become extremely slow.
I do have to add that my phone just had the Hard-SPL stuff and the other update on it which or both unofficial.
I am currently doing a hard reset and hoping for the best.
I have no idea if it is because of the other updates. My guess would be not, because the rom is overwritten.
I installed the ROM upgrade from HTC, it ****ed up my device real bad: phone module not working, device boot up in aprox 1 min, after 3 mins Touch Flo not started, it restarts by itself.
I did hard reset and nothing happens.
I,m reinstalling jademan superrom!
I hope that works!
I reverted back to the original Dutch Rom dump.
Which is the thing that works for me.
The phone boots up normally, but starts to get slow at the moment when it is installing itself. I am going to mail HTC about it.
I might try to install it with the original rom I have now. But I believe that it isn't an update, but a new installation anyways. Which means that it doesn't matter what you had before it.
HTC Touch 3G ROM Upgrade (EU)
Hello people,
I downloaded the official european rom upgrade from HTC Europe just an hour ago, but I'm not able to flash. When I start the procedure, active sync just quits and the flash procedure also quits with an error message after a couple of seconds. So how can I make active sync not to quit? Did I miss something?
Thanks in advance for your kind suggestions!
Rom Upgrade successfull
I just did the rom update and yes after installation my unit was very slow...
A few reboots later (after the network wizard has run) the unit was still slow.
I verified the network connections settings (did not change anything!) and strangely after that my unit was'nt slow anymore but as fast as before the upgrade.
For the moment I'm staying with this new official rom...
Kind regards,
Jos.

just did the upgrading, everything seems fine, except can't use M2DC anymore (cause touch flo stop working), have to find a new way to remove "starhub" craps
I got it and my phone is much better. It seems to work faster and the radio signal is best.
Did you see that the upgrade is only for a few languages? Maybe you should do the upgrade after insert the serial number and see if the new ROM is good for your phone.
[The update is available for the following languages: English (Pan Europe, UK and East Europe), Italian, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian.]

After the update, M2DC crashed on me... BUT i realised if it was disconnected from the PC, it works perfectly fine.
However, i faced 2 other problems...
1) Date is no longer displayed on the main screen
2) No more footprints
Do you all face the same problems? or is it just me ?
Footprints is not a feature of Jade but from Iolite.
However, you can install Footprints, but the tab in TF2D is not available:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=478088
The only '"problem" i notice is activesync is always on. Even if you off it, it will come back on

that was the same with the original ROM, I have not upgraded and my activesync always comes back even if I close it.
the activesync is on more frequent with the new rom
i notice its on only when i use my gps
after upgrade its constantly on
but the plus point is the gps really react a lot faster now
so what can we do ...
With my serial number, I got this:
RUU_Jade_hTC_Asia_WWE_StarHub_2.32.723.2_Radio_Sign_12.41.30.16_0.41.30.12_Ship.exe
But I don't want the StarHub things because I'm not from Singapore and I need a normal Asia rom so I borrowed my sister's serial number and got this:
RUU_Jade_hTC_Asia_WWE_2.32.707.2_Radio_Sign_12.41.30.16_0.41.30.12_Ship.exe
Who needs the 2 above roms, let me know.
For the Asia rom, it works fine for me so far, the active sync problem can be resolve by adding server source and change the settings to manually. But funny thing was, I cannot remove the server, once I remove it will come back again everytime so I just leave it there and active sync won't on anymore until I use it.
Does the second asia rom upgrade without the starhub logo when you finished? Please share. I hate the logo after my upgrade with the first one.
can you give me the two roms?thanks.
i have found the rom in htc.com ,but only found the last version.
can you give the 2 roms for me ?
thanks.

Safe to upgrade ROM?

Hi, I'm on O2 in the UK. I was just about to update the ROM from the official HTC site. However on the site it says:
"This is a generic software update. Any additional software or settings provided by your mobile operator or company will be lost. If you require this customization, please contact your supplier first before upgrading."
So by upgrading the ROM will I lose any settings provided by O2 which will be impossible to get back?? As far as I can tell O2 havent added anything to my phone anyway, just thought I'd check on here first.
Also, would I be better off going straight to the ROM forum section and choosing one of the customised ROM's rather than the official one?
It will be fine I'm on o2 and have flashed loads of roms. As part of the initial rom setup connection manager launches and you are asked to confirm which netowrk you are on, select o2 and all your settings will be put onto the new rom.
Make sure you backup your contacts, photos and music you have as these will all go as part of the flashing process.
Also make sure you've got the cabs to install any additional software that you use.
Cool, So did you have to do anything to get your Internet working again on there? I would really like to give a new rom a go.
Yes, you have to press the OK button to confirm that O2 is your provider, I think that shouldn't prove to be too much trouble
As spud_work quite rightly stated once you have flashed any new rom, whether it be a cokked one or not, you have an initial setup at start. You will be asked who your network provider is and you choose from list. Once selected your phone is set up automatically for you, and then you are free to use!!
Excellent Thanks so much guys! I will give it a go that is what I have been most concerned with! You guys Rock!

NOOB help needed

Hi guys,
Just bought the phone. It's clean. I've only installed the hot fixes from HTC official website and that's it.
Here's what I have:
OS Version: 5.2.21869 (21869.5.0.82)
Manila Version: 2.5.19211619.0
ROM Version: 1.48.479.1 (71294) WWE
ROM Date: 11-18-09
Radio Version: 2.06.51.07
Protocol Version: 15.30.50.07U
I have a problem though. I can't seem to be able to get email clients (either outlook or others [gmail, yahoo]) to work with the mobile internet we get from Vodafone - i keep getting this error - Cannot Connect - Cannot Connect with current connection settings. To change your connection settings, tap Settings. However, the internet works, I can browse, facebook etc. Can you please let me know if there's a fix for this? It seems to work on WiFi connection!
I would also like to ask, if someone is patient enough, to let me know what applications/roms/radios should I install in order to benefit at max from the phone.
I don't mind if you could send me (on private) links as to where I could download free games and apps.
Many many thanks in advance and I'm sorry for the long post!
All the best,
DH

Update your ROM to the latest official one if you are not going to use a custom one.
"Free games" will be price at £/$0 on Windows Markeplace or in OMarket not going to support warez.
you're really not helping. There are hundreds of pages and posts here. That's what HTC said about the ROM, that is the latest for my serial number although there's another one available, it wouldn't let me download it.
No one? Please!!!
Hi Digitalhater.
The latest official ROM for the HD2 is 1.66. This ROM contains all the fixes that have been released. As far as i know, this ROM is now available for all regions.
Download and install.
You can also go the cooked ROM route, there are some brilliant ROM's in the ROM development forum.
For good free games and apps, go to www-freewarepocketpc-net.
Sorry, can't post links yet.
As for your email problem, make sure that you have the correct POP and SMTP servers setup, or else your mail won't connect. You can get this from your IP.
So if you go here:

and put in your serial number it won't let you download? You didn't click on the T-Mobile ROM update by mistake did you?

Are there any specific ones I should look at? Some that you'd recommend?
As well, could you help me with the synchronization error I get for the email?
Many thanks in advance.
Sounds like it's a vendor locked device, you'd need to get in touch with your phone provider and see if they're going to release a ROM. If not, you need to flash the phone with HSPL to install a new ROM
(Just realised I gave you the link to the UK site but checked on the Romanian one and the ROM you're on is the latest for your region)
The first thing I would do is make sure that all the connection information for your log in etc for you email is correct and that you are telling your email to use the internet connection to find email.
Eliminate the simple things first. The answer is not always to flash a new rom although that can help with other stuff later. Walk before you try to run.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. However, how can I check what connection is the email using?
What I find suspicious is that the browsing works with these settings and if I connect to wireless they all work. THank you all in advance!
You're best off asking VF direct as they may have a block on certain mail servers in your region. In the UK I use my Googlemail account just fine over WiFi or contract Internet
worth noting here that many (not all) ISPs only allow sending of email when connected directly to their own network.
A good example is ntlworld email accounts in the UK. You can send and receive over pop and smtp when connected to the ntlworld connection at home, , and you can receive when connected to mobile data, BUT try and send via smtp.ntlworld.com when you are connected to mobile data and it fails.
It is to prevent 'relaying' which used to be a well used spam technique.
If its vodafone your on you can download the Rom from their site here http://devicehelp.vodafone.co.uk/firmwaredevice.php?ModelID=424&e=0
For WVGA games you can get some quite good free ones here http://wvga.pda4you.org/
Enjoy
Thanks a lot to you all. Still haven't managed to fix the email client on vodafone's mobile internet.
another question, is there a way you can have landscape mode on every application for HTC HD 2? or to have the home screen in landscape?
