I had this problem - here's what I did...
If you haven't got Windows live installed - download the cab form here and install:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3631409&postcount=3019
After install if "Windows Live" still hasn't appeared in your Titanium, do this:
Go to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome\CWindowsLive
Change the "Disabled" key from 1 to 0.
Hope this works for you

I didnt want to open a new thread, but is there any way of making any google quries right through Titanium ?
Ive looked for it for quite some time, but there doesnt seem to be anywhere I can find one.

windows live
hi! i install windows live on my hp ipaq voice messenger its install but not started why???

if you dont see it in titanium then I wouldn't go mucking with the registry if you don't know what you are doing... in the windows marketplace theres a homescreen customizer... just download that and you can add what you want to it.

Search in the today screen

I have searched and there is nothing in the wiki. All I have found are posts with references to go to the options in live search and enable the plugin to be chosen from the today options. I don't have these options in my live search. I have even updated to the newest version to be sure. I have also found references that I need to install live messenger. This doesn't make sense though to install messenger to get search capabilities in the today screen. I have had it in the past but moving from the Custel 2.5 to Ultimate it has been removed. Do I need to install messenger? You cant even seem to download it without an account. I don't want a stupid MSN account just to search my today screen.
Windows Live (search) & Windows Live Search are two different things. Go figure why m$ did this.
The search today plugin is activated from Windows Live. You will need to install windows live to get the search plugin back.

Ah, so one is:
http://mobile.live.com/GoLive/
and the other is:
http://mobile.search.live.com/client/download.aspx
No cause for confusion there. Great case of a company that has gotten so big that within its same mobile devision, the right arm does not know what the left one is doing. Goodtimes...
Thanks...
no- that would make it 3
actually windows live is supposed to be part of mobile 6. So if you have a cooked Rom- check the web pages where you got it from- black shadow has one etc. I did a quick search and here's a link: http://www.zshare.net/download/23262249825568/ (couldn't get the cab uploaded from my PC)
Windows Live Search is the one you get from that client download. I've posted it here too.
There is yet another choice- called Search Today- that automatically uses Google for searching from the today screen.
works great- esp on WM5 devices.
The file on zshare did it. It did install the messenger piece but at least I did not have to sign up for an account.
I had used that guys special google searcher. I did not really like the look of it. With a reg mod (or HTCustom for ease) you can have the MSN search Google from the today screen too.
Thanks!

Getting Windows Live Messenger to work!

Hi there,
I was trying pretty hard to get Windows Live Messenger to work on my MDA Compact IV (SwiftBL ROM) and I've finally done it!
This is what I did:
- Install Windows Live NoIM 0409.cab
- Soft reset
- Install Windows Live 10.6.39.1300.cab (with messenger)
- Soft reset
Other versions I've tried had problems like Messenger not loading up (executing it does nothing at all) or cannot tap to sign in to windows live, cannot tap to sign in to messenger, laggy/slow execution of windows live, etc.
Hope this helps someone!
Sir,
This is the solution for me! I've been trying to install Windows Live Messenger for weeks now, and this one finally worked on my MDA Vario IV. Thank you!
awesome! thanks for the fix, used it on my Axim X50V wm 6.1

thank...it work on my t-mobile mda compact 4
Thanks, working on my diamond.
good job!!thanks a lot!
I just reinstaled the messenger cab and it worked again, phew
worked perfect! thanks!
Confirmed this works for a Dutch T-Mobile MDA Vario IV. (Touch Pro)
I just ran all the programs you (topicstarter) described and it works like a charm. Didn't try without installing the NoIM package first.
Thanks for the help.
I'm going to try this on my girlfriends MDA Compact IV (Touch Diamond) too, but judging from the comments from other users, it will probably work.
I had been running a LIVE Messenger cab from XDA on my Vario III, but it refused to run on my girlfriends Compact IV. At some point I gave up looking for a solution... Until I got my Vario IV
Used fring for a while, but it crashes for no reason and it appears (from their forums) that Fring stores all your IM passwords in a central database... Not something I really like.
lol no offense to the OP, but that method is pretty dumb. not only does it take a while to do, but it also downgrades you back to the older version of 10.6.39.1300
....check out the screenshot attachment in this post at the bottom. *gasp!* version 10.6.42.1900 with Messenger listed as an Installed Component.
All you need to do folks is re-add the registry keys that the NoIM installation removes for Messenger, and then WLMMessenger.exe executes and logs in just fine.
Attached in this post is a registry file in RestoreWLMMessenger.zip. You can use your favorite registry editing program to import it, or, my preferred method: use CeRegEditor (http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl). A very handy freeware PC program that lets you edit your device's registry once connected. Click the very first button in the toolbar to establish a connection after you plugged in your device, and then press CTRL+I to import the registry file.
...And you're done! No reset required.
To restore your Messenger icon in your Programs window, (because the NoIM installation also removes that!!!!), copy the Messenger.lnk file (also in the RestoreWLMMessenger.zip file) to your \Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder on your device.
I thought of making a .CAB to do all this for you but it would add a redundant entry to your Remove Programs list. It's better without the clutter
On the other hand a modified .CAB of the NoIM installation with its _setup.xml modified to include the missing registry keys would work as well, (though other files in the .CAB would also need to be altered).
For T-Mobile users: T-Mobile has come with a Windows Live for Windows devices. You can download it from their site.

opera

well maybe a stupid question but i cant find the answer anywhere.
when i go to certain websites it redirects me to the mobile version of the website.
my touch diamond never redirected me.
it seems like the tp2 is identifying itself as a mobile device instead of a normal computer.
is there any way to change this?
I don't realy remember but in SKtools (or Advanced config) there is an option how IE identifies the device, anyway it is registry option
type "opera:config" to the address bar and open
then change the "User Agent" to a normal browser like IE, you can search for the "IE UA String" using Google
for example:"compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1"
i tried it but it keeps sending me to the mobile version of the websites.
i deleted the cookies and the history, changed it to "2" restarted my tp2 but still no difference.
i wonder if its possible at all....
Welcome to the forum
Strange issue....
Have you tried go to settings-advanced and select recognize as PC instead as handheld?
It´s working for me
Have a look here so you can choose the best Opera version for you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486502
I noticed that if you use the search hole on the Touch Flo web tab it will send you to google which in turn sends you to google re-formatted mobile versions of web pages. If you look at the bottom of the page there is a link to view the full page.
opera 10
Well if you use the opera that comes with the phone yes thats a problem but opera beta3 final is the one to use.

Customize Windows Default Theme on 6.5?

I think the Windows Default (Zune-esque) interface for WM 6.5 is pretty neat, however, is there a way to customize (move/add/delete) the home screen list (Music, etc...)
There's an app in Windows Marketplace called "Home Screen Customizer" that does this.
There is also an entire forum on xda dedicated to this here. Search for "Showaco Chome Editor".
Facebook Help please...
Great thanks for the link, I have the ZuneHD and I want my phone to be just like it! I did search the forums/freeware but I cannot find a good .cab that will allow sync between facebook and tp2 and show updates like TF3D if I had a good contact program that could do this I wouldn't need TF3D!
Also was I the only one to notice that once you upgrade to 6.5 you lose the ability to sync birthdays?
So basically I need a cab that syncs birthdays and pics with facebook... like TF3D on the TmoUS stock TF3D ROM oh yeah and has a favorites screen.
Do I ask for too much... I am rather picky but who customizes and is not?

[Q] Windows Media Centre

Hi all
I have upgraded to Windows 8 Pro using download media. I then took advantage of this offer:
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/feature-packs
I received my key by email and followed the instructions to run the "Add features to Windows 8" wizard and enter the key.
The wizard accepted the key and I was prompted to restart my PC to install Windows Media Centre.
After my PC restarted I could not find Windows Media Centre anywhere. As far as I can see it has not been installed.
The "Add features to Windows 8" wizard has now disappeared so I don't know how to resolve this issue and get Windows Media Centre working.
Has anybody else encountered this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
God bless

It should be at the far right of the Start Dashboard. If it's not pinned try searching for it as it should have gone on.
Roland
if you changed user accounts after installing it, it will vanish off the tiles, right click in metro on anything other than a tile ( blank desktop space) that brings up the lower task bar, click on "all apps", right click on WMC and click on pin to start and pin to task
Not in "All Apps"

Hi dazza9075
It's not in "All Apps". I can't find any reference to Windows Media Centre on the system other than in the about screen which now says "Windows 8 Pro with Media Centre".
Any suggestions?

well, the actual location of it is
%windir%\ehome\ehshell.exe
you could go there and make the short cuts, paste them to your desktop and pin them where ever you want them
Worked it out

Hi all
I worked my problem out. Prior to adding WMC to Windows 8 Windows Media Player was disabled through the "Turn Windows features on or off" applet. As WMC depends on WMP, if WMP is disabled, WMC will start off disabled as well.
Once I went into the "Turn Windows features on or off" applet and selected WMC, it asked me to select WMP also, and now it works.
Thanks and God bless
