Ok, so I can't seem to pin down ANYWHERE where it lists the features of all the different Haykuro builds. What exactly are on them, any known bugs, the difference between the Google builds and the HTC builds in terms of features, functionality, differences, known bugs etc.? I'm currently running JF 1.4.3 which is great, but doesn't seem to have a lot of unique power versus the stock build. Thanks!

The changelog is great, but no where can I find the CURRENT features of either build. What's already on them?

Is this what you wanted?
http://code.google.com/p/sapphire-port-dream/wiki/Whatworks
I found no reason to stick with the Haykuron builds.
allthough it has exchange, it still doesn't hold a candle to Touchdown.
I found the browser to be slower.
And over the phone lagged.
I'm waiting for the JF update when they do an official G1 release.
Alright, that seems to work, do I HAVE to wipe the G1 clean first? It's a hastle for me to have to reinstall everything to normal...
If you have apps to SD, then you can wipe, install the apps-to-sd version of 5.0.xr4 and then run the commands to re-symlink the /data/app and /data/app-private and your apps will be back. The only problem is that in the Market app, they don't show up as installed, so you need to reinstall them if you want update notifications from the Market app.
What I do is run aTrackDog every once in a while and reinstall anything with updates. Eventually, I'll probably end up having reinstalled everything =P

I have also tired many different roms same thing happens with all of them.
same here. Only ones I've been able to get "working":
- FF7: runs perfectly
- Tekken3: runs, but very slow
- Metal Gear Solid: boots up the main menu, but nothing after that
- Silent Hill: graphics a lil buggy, stops working after needing to load a new scene
try loading the new leaked 08/01/10 rom, i tried that and it runs fine on mine... eboot pbp roms seem to run a little bit faster than other filetypes.

PSX4DROID is NOT compatible with Cyanogenmod-6 Test builds (This will likely be fix in future builds).
I've installed many different ROMS, the only ones that work is Cyanogenmod-6 Nightly builds.
But I stopped using Cyanogenmod-6 for HTC Incredible since Test#8 and since nightly build 7-28-10.
I love the idea that you can use the Wii remote controller to control the emulators, but in its current state, it's too buggy.
Switching to the leaked froyo (leaked on 8/1/10) is probably best, if you don't care for the option to use the Wii remote controller as a bluetooth device.

Yeah, you'll need to update your radio. Therefore, your Baseband version will be upgraded to 2.05.00.06.11.
Regarding the nightly build, I believe the last one I used was 7-27-10. (From: http://droidfiend.com/roms/htc-incredible/cyanogenmod-6/ OR http://mirror.kanged.net/cm/nightly/inc/)
Did you make sure that your PSX4DROID has a BIOS file?

Since you did not mention anything about keeping Bluetooth controller support, I suggest upgrading to the leaked OTA (Froyo ROM). Which would mean updating your radio...
OR, wait a bit cuz HTC is planning to release the official Froyo update but you gottta be careful with that as it will unroot your phone.
The problem is that we're talking about two different ROMs here. The people that are saying use a different ROM are talking about the build on your phone. PSX4Droid doesn't work with CM6 yet.
Try SkyRaider or the 8/1 Leak.
PSX4Droid works well on the 8-1 leak. You shouldn't run it without updating your radio first, though.
Also, if you use a ZeeMote or an MSI BGP100, you can use a bluetooth remote with an HTC Sense phone. You just only have those two choices. Drivers are available in the market. It's called GamePro.
Vanilla Flavored AOSP
Gtablet AOSP is a project for pure vanilla Android with the Gtablet. It aims to be barebones and as true to the AOSP code as possible. The Google AOSP code is modified as little as possible to provide functionality, and the ability to boot. It is stripped down for modification by the end user.
Using CyanogenMod device files, Pershoot's latest kernel (20110328, 2.6.32.36), and some cherry picked cyanogenmod/nv-tegra files, a functional 'rom' and a github repo for this project has been created. As functionality has been added since inception, more pieces from Cyanogen are making there way in (browser fix and tweaks, some under the hood stuff, internal storage fixes, etc) to improve overall experience. All variances from original AOSP code is visible via the public git.
Huge props to the Gtablet and the Cyanogen development community. Without your work, this wouldn't be possible.
Huge thanks to EJHart for his direct assistance with this project. Also, thanks to Bekit, Pershoot, GoJimi, Cyanogenmod team, Google... and I am probably missing others... This project would not be where it is without all of their work.
To use this rom, you will use ClockwordMod to flash the zip file as you would any other rom. I have only used ClockworkMod .8 in my testing.
DISCLAIMER: I cannot be held liable for anything you do to your GTablet. Make sure you are comfortable with recovery tools, such as nvflash, before proceeding. Though the rom is quite functional and stable in basic testing, this project is in early beta stages.

*NOTE* GAPPS 20110307 for MDPI will not work.
Use the 20110120 MDPI GAPPS (for example, http://android.d3xt3r01.tk/cyanogen/gapps/gapps-gb-20110120-signed.zip).
Known Issues:
Most if not all the issues facing Cyanogen 7
Changes since RC1:
Latest Pershoot 20110328 kernel.
Browser crash loading google.com homepage is now fixed. This should resolve browser fc across the board.
Added User Agent, Fullscreen, Zoom controls, and Incognito to Browser.
Added Reboot to Power menu (intentionally excluding the recovery/bootloader options).
Fixed EMMC and basic information for Internal Storage in Settings->Storage.
Removed phone signal indicator, and tablified numerous text values.
Latest from AOSP Master (not much new since RC1).
Removal of extraneous junk, like speech recorder, voice dialer, and mms.
Retired changelog:
RC1 - Beta2:
My Apps now works in Market. Google Maps no longer force closes. -There is a downside to this-. The fix involves altering the LCD Density, which causes some apps to not scale properly.
Media on EMMC is now scanned and available in Music/Gallery/etc.
Live Wallpapers work.
Pershoot kernel 20110307
A bunch of under the hood stuff due to major changes upstream from AOSP.
Beta2 - Beta1:
AOSP is now pulling from master branch, making it version 2.3.3_r1.
Camera functions for still pictures. No mirroring or rotation issues. Video recording still not working.
Latest NVidia 3991 libs included (noticeable performance increase).
Pershoot kernel 20110301
Beta1 - Initial release:
Fixed EMMC.
Steamlined compile process.
Addition of Spare Parts/Dev Tools (possibly removed in future versions)
BUILD YOUR OWN:
GitHub -- https://github.com/aosp-gtablet
Use this project from github to create your own image:
repo init -u git://github.com/aosp-gtablet/gtablet-aosp.git
The process for CM7 will work. Run extract-files.sh, run envsetup.sh, lunch, make -j[X] bacon. Anything more is outside the scope of this post.
** Additional notes -- GoJimi's Soft Buttons are available in the source code, but are disabled in this release.
I am a minimalist, and I know there are others. I hope others enjoy, and help make this a better project
Please let me know what bugs you find so I can work on them! Thanks.
Sold! Will give this a try and report back. Nice writeup too. Is it true, development only available on linux?
Thanks.
I have done all my work in Linux, so I wouldn't know of any other way to create an image. Sorry.

I have installed GAPPS, they work with the exception of the same Market/My Apps bug found in the CyanogenMod rom. I think it's fast too. I have not run battery test, or benchmarked it thoroughly. Someone has already recommended a possible fix for the 3d textures, that might help Quadrant run successfully. Without textures and all, I did get one run of Quadrant to complete (after numerous tries) and received a ~2100 score. Not the best, I know, but it still seems very snappy.
Not a quadrant user myself. Just the feel of it is impressive. I will report back with battery stats tomorrow.
Solid work getting this to the masses. Thanks.

I assume you're asking about the Input Method options? I did not customize those, it's built with the full build of AOSP.

Would you send me a copy of your extract-files.sh? I'd like to see what you're pulling. Is the audio driver for the G Tablet open source? I'd be curious to see if we can't build a 2.3 driver.

The image is built using the device files from the CM7 repo, lightly modified and forked to it's own repo. This includes extract-files.sh, which is identical to that in CM7. I didn't see a point to re-invent the wheel on this step, as bekit & co. have done such an excellent job. It does not impact on the outcome of this being an AOSP image. Among other things (like defining hardware specifics in BoardConfig.mk), the device files bring in the core libraries already on your GTablet. This includes libaudio.so.

Same problem here. Market is not present.
You have to install google apps. Use the one for cm7/gingerbread found here http://goo-inside.me/gapps/ flash the zip as you would a rom in recovery.
can you please put screenshots?
If the rom is based on GB then screen shots at this point are not possible as ddms doesnt work with GB. It looks just like plain jane vanilla android.
I've been running 7.0.2 off my SD for many months - quite happy though I would like the deep sleep and some of the new USB features. Has there been an updated stable version beyond 7.0.3? I remember seeing a 7.1.X on one of these threads.
Also - if I update the CM7 version, will my current data/apps remain intact?
Thanks

If all the nightlies are pretty much stable, why not just tell him to install the latest nightly?
I think it's a toss up. The old stable builds aren't exactly perfect but I also don't think that the. 32 kernel is perfect yet either. We are still a ways away from a really polished CM7 for NC, I think. The recent builds are faster though.
I was very happy with Nightly 134 but changed to a later nightlies and had various problems. Luckily found a source that carried 134, reinstalled it and have been once again extremely satisfied.
Thank you everyone for the replys. I've been very hesitant to change what works since I use my nook and BT keyboard for work, business trips. I've looked but, can't seem to find - how do I clear the "Cache and Dalvik Cache? Going to try a nightly soon and hope my data is retained. I've used Titanium backup just in case.
Thanks
Just test out different builds. For me, I'm still running the RC1 from the tutorial a while back in the general section. I haven't had any problems besides the occasional problem with not waking up once every 5 days or so?
The best is to just get it the way you want it, and stop messing with it. Use it.
Based on this thread, I went from the last stable....to the newest nightly...(157 at the time)....all is well BUT, my Hulu + app now says the device is no longer supported..I've uninstalled and reinstalled from a backup, but ....nada....any ideas? (sorry for hijack)
Yoke
Edit: Update: I went backwards downgrading to 7.0.3, still had the 'device not supported' on hulu plus, so I started over from scratch, reformatted my SD card and reinstalled the latest nightly, restored apps from titanium backup and everything works fine...something must just have gotten corrupt. Hulu plus really does work nice in the nook color. So does netflix.

So, I just got my Nexus 4, and before I start playing with it, I'd like to go ahead and ROM it.
I want really good battery life, and lots of customization options for the UI.
I don't know a TON about ROMs aside from how to install them etc. I've done that a bit with several phones.
My big question is nightlies. I REALLY don't want to have to reinstall a new ROM every day, or even every week... I want one that I can install, and use for a long time that updates itself (like the stock ROM does with Google). My understanding of nightlies might be completely wrong, but it sounds like I have to reinstall the ROM every day?
What are your thoughts/opinions? I'm leaning toward CM10.1, but like I said, I don't want to have to reinstall every day. Does it auto update these "nightlies"?
If a nightly rom is fine you don't have to update it if you don't want to.

It wont auto-update. You have to flash it. And when new nightlies come out, there usually arent huge changes to the rom.
You can dirty flash the rom and all apps and settings should remain, however thats not the best way to install a rom for stabilty. Its recommended that you do a full wipe.
On a side note, if your looking for lots of customization options i wouldnt go with cm10.1. Try roms based on AOKP like carbon, liquid smooth, etc.
They have tons of settings to play around with which cyanogenmod lacks.

When a new nightly comes out and you was it, just flash the new update rom on top of the old one. Don't worry about installing your apps again. As long as you don't do a factory reset your apps should be on your device.

If you are coming from a different ROM you should probably do a full wipe.
Dirty flashing may cause bugs. But if you are upgrading the same ROM dirty flashing will allow you to keep everything.

Hi,
I'm currently on cm-11-20131207-NIGHTLY-mako.zip and wanted to dirty-flash omni-4.4.1-20131208-mako-NIGHTLY.zip.
But when booting Android I get lots of messages like "android.database.sqlite.SQLiteException: Can't downgrade database from version 589832 to 524296" - among others for dialer, mms, settings storage - and Android reboots.
I understand why these messages appear and why Android won't start properly. I also know that the only real issue here is the DB versions, not some compatibility problem.
My actual question/request is: Are there any plans to bump the db versions to be compatible with CM11 to enable easy transition from CM to Omni? If not, maybe that could be put on the wishlist?

No. Dirty cross-flashing between firmwares is NEVER supported. Only upgrades from the same project. (In theory, you should be able to safely transition from 4.3 Omni to 4.4 Omni unless we screwed up. I know I successfully took my Tablet Z from 4.3 to 4.4 without issues other than some Google Calendar derps)

Regards

Actually, it is a compatibility problem. The version of the database is really the version of the schema, not the version of the database program. The schema basically describes the tables in the DB and the columns in those tables. Different ROMs may have different tables due to different settings and features, and they're not compatible. In some cases where one ROM is literally a fork of the other it may work but generally this is not the case.

I understand that, should maybe have phrased my question differently: Any plans to update the db schemas to be in line with CMs?
As stated I'm well aware of possible compatibility problems and am willing to fix/clear data for individual apps, but for testing a new ROM i'm not really willing to do a factory reset just because ~5 dbs may be incompatible and their apps may FC.

This does work in practice, as I did that w/ my "Tempest" flavor of Omni. 4.3-4.4-4.4.1 without any factory resets.
But I agree with Entropy. Never dirty flash. I keep an up-to-date Titanium Backup with all the user apps backed up, personally, and Accounts info/WiFi Networks/BT Pairings. Then, when I flash a new ROM, I have TiBa in a flashable zip and GApps, and I'm ready to go in just a few minutes after a factory reset.

No, the only way to achieve this is to be an exact clone of CM - which we are not.

Describing what you are asking in a simpler to understand analogy:
"I'm moving from New York to California, can I have the exact same interior layout and just drag and drop everything into the same location in my new home?"
You already know the answer, but in technical sense you are asking the omni team to plan and architect their interior design to the same as CM. Architects in New York and California will have completely different visions, based on the goals of the community they support.
It should not be standardized IMO.
